Florida to Bimini in a 22ft Robalo Boat

- Pompano beach Florida to Bimini. We joined the Robalo owners group for the 2022 Bimini bash. Left out of Hillsboro inlet and made it over in just shy of 4 hours. Rougher ride over and back vs what was expected but we made it safe. Father in law broke his arm on the trip over by trying to walk in the boat while underway and fell. No X-ray machine on the island and only braces for right hands so had to deal with it until we came back. All in all it was a heck of a trip. Weather was great but it was windy so the water was a little rough. Can’t wait for next years trip.

Thanks. Unfortunately we wont be making the trip this year. I have a fishing trip already planned for the exact days of the bash. I was really hoping the group would've voted for the July week so we couldve went but oh well. I'll look forward to seeing some pic and videos from those that do make it.
What group is this you’re traveling with? We want in for 2024!
Very cool ,how long did it take for all those boats to go through customs?
We had such a large group customs met us at the resort so it wasn’t bad.
I've been wanting to do this for a while - maybe next year. Looks like you have a 227 like I do. Curious what your top end speed is - I max at 40 with my 250 and curious if that is same with you and what speed you ran at heading over? Thanks
With my Bimini up it’s around 45 with mild chop. May could get 48-50 with top down and less fuel and playing with the trim. But I don’t really run wide open often. On the way over we were in the teens mostly until about 10 miles from Bimini. It was rough. Low 20’s on the way back. Rough as well.
@@savemoneydiy87 Thank you. We are still playing with some tuning. Prop is good; engine is perfect. But even when I trim it seems like the engine sits a little low so gonna raise the engine one hole and see if that does it. Stay safe
