My problem with Rival (and I am a Rival fan; I have three pairs of their gloves, and also their speedbag and swivel for my home gym) is their quality control. My RB1 and RB5 bag gloves are great, but my RS4's, speedbag and swivel have their problems. I can't help but wonder if their quality would improve if they moved manufacturing home to Canada.
I don't know any brand in the world and not only for boxing, who makes 100% strike for quality, ch...t can happen everywhere unfortunately, we're human
100% agree with this. I could have written this comment haha. It's also strange that Rival UK customers pay a premium versus the US and Canada stores (based on exchange rates) despite the fact that the gloves are manufactured in Pakistan...which is several thousand miles closer to the UK...
A company that is as big as Rival shouldn't be hit & miss on quality control. Just shows that now they are established they don't care. I've never owned a pair of Rival gloves & never will. The guy at the top is a proper narcissist control freak & only likes you if you're licking the crack of his ass. Stay well clear of Rival, there's far better gloves in the same price bracket in Fly, Winning, Cleyto Reyes etc 👍🏻
@@shropsiberian Do you spend your time commenting on Rival related posts to tell people how the guy at the top is a narcissist??? Have you met Russ Anber? Who are you to pass judgment like this?
@@chrisr1415 I think it has to do with Rival’s “break of bulk point”. Just because it’s manufactured in Pakistan doesn’t mean that’s where it’s shipped from for direct to consumer (D2C). If it goes from Pakistan and is sent to a warehouse back in Canada, then it has to get shipped back across the Atlantic to get to the UK. Then Rival is subject to the carrier’s shipping/freight cost of the likes of DHL/UPS to get it to the UK. Not sure what kind of export tariffs there would be because I think Canada and UK have pretty favorable trade agreements. But if Rival doesn’t have a European warehouse for shipping, then it probably means market doesn’t warrant it yet. It would mean they would have to split their inventory and potentially have less for their North American market. Less supply would mean increased price for the North American market for the same set of gloves. Or they could outright manufacture more gloves, but this goes back to “is there enough demand” to just make more gloves outright to store solely in Europe. It’s a delicate dance for sure lol.
I got ahold of rival cause the stitching on mine were horrible and rival informed me that due to the high demand of the gloves they just shipped them out with out quality control. They told me that I could return them but they didn't have anymore in the color way and size that I wanted so I felt obligated to keep them cause I was waiting so long for the second batch to come out they still perform well its just on the top of the glove that looks funky where they have there logo 😔
@@Fit2Box yes, i have 5 other rival gloves and they are all amazing like you said. They have many good gloves in their collections. Maybe just not good one with this batch.
Been a big fan of rival me and my lad both wear them now i have the blue and yellow and my lad has the green pair. My boxing trainer bought the phenom about 6 month ago to try somthing new and within around 2 month has gone back to the rival. The knuckle pad actually split the lether and didnt seem to hold the natrul curve so kinda concaved inwards which lead to the spit.
I have the rivals and it held up very well! Quick question, how did you get the thumb with the name on it? I am trying to find a place to put my name on these gloves
I want to give you and everyone an update on my experience with Rival RFX Guerrero bag gloves. I bought them, the thumb lining on one of the gloves jammed early and thus my fingers didn't reach the end of the glove, impact was more on the base of my fingers instead of the knuckles. It also meant the surface was at an angle as opposed to 90 degrees to a straight forearm and wrist. The other glove fit perfectly. I HAD TO PAY to ship to return them. I got a replacement. SAME PROBLEM. Rival won't accept shipping cost for faulty gloves unless the fault is so obvious externally. If it's an improper fit, they won't accept fault for it. I HAD TO PAY to ship them back and just got a refund. Will likely bite the bullet for a winning. Not worth messing around with these substandard gloves at such prices.
