Interesting journey, through a beautiful and lonely landscape. I recognise the cave, I had lunch there a couple of years ago travelling with my family in 2 rental hilux cars. Good travels, no breakdowns, greetings from the Netherlands!
Hello Lewi, keep up the good work and the subscribers will come. My 2 favorite RUclips bike tourers, Forestry Forest and of course Iohan (RIP brother...), took a few years to up the count. They were good, and you are too... (just don't buy a van!).
Randomly came across the video and I was thinking "oh hey kinda looks like a priority bike," haha. I got a 600 I was thinking of using for touring. I think this 600x is basically the same, except it has a suspension fork and some slightly better parts on it. Cool to see it operate in a desert.
haha good eye, yeah I love the pinion and belt. The suspension and wider tyres have definitely been helpful for this kind of adventure too! thanks for watching
@@iamlewiblake Yeah its unreal. I went from Chile Atacama, into Bolivia, then up to the Amazon. It was incredible how the desert and salt lake region quickly turned into a tropical rainforest. I hope to do it again, with my wife this time.
Hi I have been following since your first SA vid. The spoor in the cave looks like hyena to me.Dont think you could have found a better spot to spend the night a magical campsite for sure. Seems you enjoyed Namibia I travelled the country as a teenager but unfortunately for me the over riding memories of Namibia are of serving in the army on the border with Angola in 1988 /89. Enjoying your series looking forward to the next one 👍
It would have been good to see a reference for size, but I think Aardwolf, not hyeana. They look a bit Jackal like but the way the toes curl as a hyena does, and it does look like there is a substantial size difference between the front and back foot. There are no lions there, south of the Ugab. And it's way, way to small for lion and even too small for Spotted hyena. Brown hyeana have a much fatter, rounder track and are also big, and mostly stick to the coastline there. I'm between jackal and Aardwolf. But I think Aardwolf.
@@topcat8891 could be totally wrong. It's hard to say from that footage, but I know the region very well, and have a reasonable level of experience with tracks in the desert. But, I could be wrong. It is fun stuff

@@topcat8891 Ah, I was brought up in Kenya too, but in the north, in the desert. And guided in Namibia for 22 years before moving to the UK during Covid.
Yeah most animals are in national parks and they seem to be few and far between outside of the parks...except in Botswana and some areas of Kenya, Zambia
@@iamlewiblake Good to hear it bud! Make sure to scream too! That long tail dog looks like a coyote or fox to me. No way it's a hyena. Crazy empty country anyway. Have you heard about all the rains in the south Sahara now? Real climate change, not the CO2 bullship. Is your back wheel going to last now? You could put a Rohloff in there LOL Then put the Rohl in 11th gear or put the Pinion in 1st and shift the Rohloff.
@GordoGambler hahaha that would be something having rohlloff and pinion. It's working fine now I guess time will tell. I think it's a fox aswell. I was talking about hyena based on the tracks in the cave but who knows. Thanks for watching
This is good filming, real and hardcore. its better than watching netflix

Sweet man it funny we talked about taking your fatbike .. looks perfect for it i take mine for sure
Yeah next time I go back, I will take my fatbike
I expected a call from Ryan to make sure your bike was working well. ..lol
In the previous vids comments I said he should blame Ryan!😅
Haha actually the Priority bicycles contact me to make sure everything is working well 💪
Priority ended up contacting me to make sure everything was good. Great support from them haha
@iamlewiblake you are a great ad for Priority, even though a Rohloff would have avoided rear hub problems. ..lol
Combining a Rohloff with a Schlumpf mtn drive is possible.
That was a great campsite, unless of course a desert lion turned up.

Maybe you should have a can of pepper spray ready?? Or an air horn?? they don't like loud sounds apparently? The locals must have some tips...
