I can attest to it that there's stock theft in those areas, and farmers lost a lot of their animals, sometimes one needs to notify the nearby farmer if camping.....
On the headlamp / gun in your face part, I would not have slept all night. And very cool animal footage... I was surrounded in my tent (wild camping in a random hay field) by a huge pack of coyotes in Montana this past September... Scary even though I knew they posed no real threat. Subscribed and awaiting each video like I did when Iohan G. and Forestry Forest (Simon L.) posted cycling videos. Good stuff!
How come you were driving around Etosha after sunset though? Were you on an organised game drive? Everyone has to be out of the park by sunset or in one of the camps.
This shocking! Anywhere in this world, Why should one camp in isolation and in such a place😳? As a Namibian, knowing that its safe in our country, I still takr precautions ... So sorry for the bad experience

A night to forget closely followed by a night to remember.

Glad nothing came of the gunman situation. Scary, but keeping calm helps. On ya.
