  • Last year, we covered 2 in 1 algae reactor created by Geosreef.
This year, they did a surprise unveiling of the 2nd revision of this popular reactor and we were there for it! There has been significant changes to the unit and it is efficient and over 200 dollars cheaper then the original version without compromising any quality that you would expect from Geosreef products.
Check out the video and the product and let me know what you think of the product.
    Happy reefing!

I can understand the hesitation. Many people that i know have used some reactors in the past and used led strip lights surrounding it but the contraption ultimately failed to last long term. If you have an refugium or a handy DIYer, you can definitely go ALOT cheaper route that way. (I'm super jealous of handy folks)
But there are bit more that's involved to the manufacturing process that many people don't get to see or be aware of.
Besides the materials that includes custom sized cast acrylic tube, cuttings of additional acrylic using CNC machine, o rings, valves, designing the custom drain panel on top, custom diode design process and manufacture partnership with reefbrite, designing the brackets to make it easily attach and detach to the fixture without touching the acrylic, different revisions trying to get it right, small touches all take time and money.
After perfected the design, time to make them afterwards, cover the overhead, leave room for the distributors to make a margin without effecting your margin of profit so that you can make a living.
I just wanted to explain the cost a bit. Thank you so much for watching the video and for taking your time to leave a comment.
      Have a great day!
