- The Rise and Fall of “The King’” Ronnie Coleman - What happened to Ronnie Coleman?
In the illustrious realm of bodybuilding, one name reigns supreme, etched into the annals of history as "The King" - Ronnie Coleman. With a record-breaking eight Mr. Olympia titles, he soared to the zenith of the sport, a symbol of superhuman strength and unwavering dedication. But as the adoring cheers faded and the spotlight dimmed, a heart-wrenching tale of triumph and tragedy emerged, leaving us to question: What happened to Ronnie Coleman? This exploration delves into the rise and fall of a once-mighty champion, unraveling the bittersweet legacy of a man whose indomitable spirit and pursuit of greatness came at a cost so profound it echoes through the very essence of bodybuilding itself.
There was no fall brother, every athlete has its time where he rules, and ronnie literally ruled,he is not even a king but an emperor of bodybuilding!
No he is not a king he is the King.
Non even an emperor, he is a god
Plenty of fall.... he sacrificed his body being reckless. In comparison look at Jay Cutler, he is is still training and healthy, meanwhile Ronnie is living in a wheelchair.
An emperor without his clothes?
I just saw a video that said "What happened to Steve Miller". Nothing HAPPENED to Steve Miller. He's still rockin today. 👍Pay it no mind.
A genuine humble friendly man carried not an ounce of arrogance in him
Yeah buddy
People behave differently on camera and in public.
The human body is just a temporary structure he did his best and left a lasting legacy. We shall always remember him as a great athlete
You know he's still alive, right?
He is also a Legend in friendlyness and determination. May God give him many blessings and Joy..
Classic Bodybuilding Eras left out a vital piece of information. Ronnie's body gave out because he continued to train with heavy weights while injured. It started with a herniated bulging disc. Ignoring the pain and soldering on with a severe injury is fool hearty. The body needs to rest and recuperate from injures. He is now confined to a wheelchair for not listening to his own body. And to this day Ronnie has said he has no regrets about the way he trained. However, his optimism for the future and his enduring work ethic is what made him a legend in bodybuilding.
But he stated it
Foolhardy*
Fool hearty lolol
Remove the title, Ronnie is a legend and never fell.
People don't pay enough attention to the wording they used. This title is disheartening
The man pushed his body to the limit for us to see what is possible and decide it's not worth it.
Lol😂😅
With the help of Drugs!!!
It was the back surgery that made him crippled. Avoid back surgery. Doctors only do it for the $$$. My friend got back surgery that cost over 100k and now he has a permanent limp.
He did everything for fame and money and doctor get money for that.
Well then his body didnt hold up why wud i wanna be in wheelchair i luv playn with my gkids🤣🤣💯so not worth it he cant even wipe his butt come on man🤮
with drugs, there is no limit... would have been great to see his body's limit without drugs.
Ronnie Coleman did not fall. He resigned or retired from the Bodybuilding game Responsibly and Gracefully. Kudos to him for that 🥰🥰✌️✌️✌️
Love from Sierra Leone West Africa 🇸🇱🇸🇱🇸🇱
He was forced to retire because of excessive drug use.
When you use that much drugs, your body goes into overdrive.
And, he didn't have a choice but to push his body to the limit because of the drugs.
Never falls.....the king remains the king
Ronnie did not fall. He first was a bodybuilder, then the king of bodybuilding, and now a legend for all bodybuilders.
Thank you for your service Mr. Coleman. We Love you!
He is a legend
There was no 'fall' of ronnie coleman lol. He retired very gracefully
He’s in a wheelchair
What record did he break 8 Olympias tied the record Lee Haney did it first who cares who did it second
Yes, he didn’t fall , very disrespectful
Stupid and disrespectful video he didn’t fall
@@GothboiKenzy Ronnie still an inspiration. You probably care more about the wheelchair than he does Lol, True Legend👑💯
It’s a sad world we live in when you juice to the max and people cheer your success…….
Yup!! It's simply a very high price to pay for glory, it's plainly Obvious that way to many bodybuilders are dying to young, Until they ban & frequently test these Athletes, they will keep on taking PED'S & other enhancing drugs to be rich & famous, but at what Co$t??
Ronnie is very positive person who smiles through it all..I was a top natural bodybuilder and no one knows my name and struggle with money. Whether Ronnie would do it all again, I believe he would because he knows We all die and there is a Kingdom of Heaven that waits for him✌
Why don't you go read your bible?
This channel is for adults - not childish widdle ghost worshipping freaks.
Dude is a top notch human being. His attitude and personality are just as impressive as his 8 Titles
He has never fallen! He is still the king 👑
The man is a positive inspiration to all of us he'll always be a hero in my life God bless you Ronnie
When I saw his wife, I loss all respect for the BAFOON
Ultimately the only positive about his story is tests for harmful performance enhancing drugs, and an example of what not to do with your life.
Seeing nothing but genuine joy and zest for life in this man through all his tribulations is transcendent.
He stepped down, he didn't fall off. He still lifts, running his business, and other shit.
And still killing it at the gym even while disabled. If that ain't a reason to get our asses in the gym idk what is fam.
Ronnie will never fall unlike your video!
Ronnie is Mount Everest in bodybuilding .
He never fail.....put your words right
This shows that we are still human. No matter how big or how strong we got
He was in his 40s when he won his final Olympia title and retired. He didn’t have his first surgery until 2006-2007 after he retired professionally.
The pain he endured for 15 years during the height of his career was insane though. I herniated a disc and I could barely walk, that guy is a monster.
It affects everyone differently. You can have a herniated disc and not know it or have the exact same thing on your imaging and not be able to stand up straight or take a dump without agony
There is no "Rise and Fall" in being eight-time Mr. Olympia with a huge amount of respect around the world in bodybuilding. To me it sounds like he got what he wanted.
Ronnie got old, that’s how it works and he can be lucky he’s not six feet under like may others
There is "not" a fall in body building! If you get to the Top. You are never forgotten! A legend! God's sculpture. God art. That God blessed you with. Never to be forgotten!
The man the myth the beautiful soul. ALWAYS a champion and an inspiration.👊🏿💯
Look at his nemesis Jay Cutler, he is in good health, shows no sighs of ‘going’ down’, Jay was famous of not going unreasonably heavy with weights, there is a price to abusing your body even in the name of pursuing one’s sport’s goals.
Ya
Jay cutler came second best. Ronnie was willing to sacrifice his own health for the pursuit of being the best.
A lot of hard working Americans who sacrifice there health and bodies physically in order to work and make a paycheck daily look up to him and know how hard it can be to put the work in and think about the bigger picture. Lightweight baby!!!! 😊❤
Health allows you to enjoy life. Anything that damages your health is simply not worth it.
He told in an interview " that is the price I paid for my passion "
True King... 👑👑👑💪💪💪🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️💯💯💯Ga...
“Once was” No Bot!!!! He still is the King!!!!
He is the real KING !!! THERE WIL NEVER BE ANOTHER
Ty for the reply it's just true no other physic will look like the king or be like Ronnie.
I truly appreciate this mini documentary someone posted him and he appeared on my timeline. I couldn’t help but wonder what his story was so I immediately came to RUclips and ran across this video. His life journey was full and inspirational. However, I’m sure there’s a Darkside to this story, I can only imagine the mistakes he’s made and the people he’s hurt to the point of heartbreak
dont be stupid-which people has he hurt?
Same here 🤗.
His legacy will be remembered. Legend forever a legend. Whether sick or old aged.
God's Blessed champion, 8x Mr. Olympia, @RonnieColeman. 👑🏆💯
There is no fall. If you truly understand king Ronnie and his work ethic u then would understand he has no regrets from his BB career. He said he only has one regret and that was not trying his close to 1000lb squat twice instead on just one rep.
definitely no fall he is an inspiration a true gentleman
Hi always will be The King! His greatness was worth every surgery!
He still inspire us to work for whatever we love not caring for result
Bodybuilding is like gardening. Takes months sometimes years to get the results/gains you pursue.
He never failed. He reached the pinnacle and retired gracefully ❤. Changing the video title would be appreciable.
You think he’s talking about bodybuilding contests when said the “fall”. It’s obvious he’s talking about his physical limitations.
Ronnie Coleman is a World 🌎 Renowned Champion of Body Building, He tied and Surpassed Ahhnold in Mr. Olympia titles, Ronnie & Lee are tied with 8 each, but Ronnie is Considered, The Very Best Ever All Time, I think he really pushed himself, lifting at a much higher W8 than others, and it took a Bad toll on his back, there's absolutely No fall or Regrets in Ronnie's Life, He is Simply the very Best Ever!! ✌💙🎭😎💯🇱🇷
God bless Ronnie.
Same Happened to "Bruce Lee" pushed his body to extreme limits ,specially for perfecting the famous 1 inch punch ,took a toll on his overall body
I know it’s been posted ad nauseam, but absolutely no FALL!! Ronnie retired on top! 💪💪 What a humble giant he was. 🙏
always respect big Ron! Take care of yourself! Respect from Romania
Very inspiring story. But it glosses over the stark reality that modern-day competitive bodybuilding is not healthy:
1: With rare exceptions, you cannot be competitive without steroids.
2: Achieving the necessary exaggerated muscularity requires stresses which destroy vertebrae and joints.
3: Being competitive involves numerous other practices that jeopardize health. E.g. Human skin does not normally stick to muscle in a way to sufficiently delineate the muscles. To achieve this delineation, before an event, bodybuilders must deliberately become dehydrated, often ingesting diuretics.
Prayers brother 🙏
Wow I didn't know that much. Were he from. I have a Brother with the exact same name.. GOD Bless You and Family 💘🙏🙏🙏
A great King of bodybuilders sad to see his back injuries as we saw in the video him lifting such huge and heavy weights its sure destroys the back spine and it did.
KING COLEMAN 👑❤️💯
No the 8 time Mr Olympia did not fall. He’s simply retired with honor. Carrying thousands of pounds on ur back for yrs would cripple anyone. I just pray the legend himself can live the rest of his life in some peace.
They just can't help trying to equate him with a failure. He rose to the top and got old just like everyone else.
Ronnie, give it up. You had a wonderful life, which most of us will not have. Retired in peace, work out lite too stay healthy and fit goe on into the sunset. Best wishes to a true cha
P 🏆 .
Dude, A.I., or whatever you are, Ronnie Coleman never fell wtf! He retired and because he gave it his all his physical health has now suffered. Show respect!
As a published fitness model back in the day (Muscle & Fitness) ( over 15 times) , RC was my hero. I have had so may friends die. I wished I knew the consequences as I am now 42. It was a fun ride indeed but we really didn't know what we where doing. The guys you hear about always have amazing genetics which most don't understand.....The ones that live are the ones who stop doing this stupid shit I'm sorry. ... I have lost so many friends bc of this insane sport. #realTalk Respect to Dorain Yates and Kevin for showing me the true way. Many many others like Lee Labradra and so many others who showed me the way........
Big arms aren’t worth your life dude
Thats enough strength motivation to apply to many peoples shortcomings. He did not fall he kept going!
A must be an advocate of injury free work outs
but no mention of the shed load of steroids that was responsible for his freaky (not meant to flatter) size. And were probably responsible for many of his physical issues. But he's a legend, right!
He did not listen to his body, when his body said, " REST. "
And yeah, he was obviously juiced to the Gills.( like they all are at that level.)
HIs steel mind broke his body....I had the same problem.
I listened to that pain....very carefully, when paralysed for 6 days.
I recovered.
Love you Ryan you are the king of bodybuilding. Arnold is great.
Id rather be in decent shape than to destroy my body for a few years of glory and a lifetime of pain. He's a good guy, but its just not worth it in my book. I used to idolize these guys as a kid but guys like coleman, yates, and others aged horribly compared to most old school bodybuilders.
Agreed. Not worth it. Love the guy cause he's very nice and humble but how can it be worth it.
He still a legend
Perfection
I love that man
Ronnie Retired a Cripple, Jay Cutler retired a King
No fall everyone gets older. He was 8x mr olympia that's more than most people will accomplish in their life.
This voice is on EVERYTHING DAM
great performance
King is always king❤️
I remember big Ronn watching him on video while I was in college on many occasions and in mr. Olympia championship in the 90's I use to say this man is gigantic he made Arnold look small at 260 something or 285 something to 300 massive. I shock that a human could be that massive and bulge of rippling muscles one over another dimension Devine evenly he was scary to watch and see but it was like a perfect picture. That's a whole lot of juice, protein and eating he was doing and taken to get that huge. Thou Great that he doing well and he is still around that's real king of body building there for sure Ronnie Coleman. They go thru such a lot to get that dollar using there body that's a serious one man sport.❤💪🏽💪🏽💯🙏🙏🙏-- --✌💯
I have three busted disc in my lower back and dr told me never to get surgery because that will definitely gonna put me on wheel chair for life.
There is end for every legend,
As King Solomon said "All Is Vanity"
Ronnie the greatest❤❤
I’m a woman with diastasis recti (from pregnancy) and I work to bring awareness to the condition among moms to be…Mine could have been prevented. I even work in rehab and studied kinesiology..not mentioned anywhere, not even in pre-pregnancy books or classes. Yet it’s insanely common 🤦♀️🤦♀️
it looked glaringly obvious Ronnie had it even during multiple Olympia wins…I can’t understand how (or maybe it was??) it was either overlooked, or undiagnosed?? Maybe he just pushed through and ignored it idk.
it can be hard to understand how it creates muscle imbalance and requires really super careful techniques to rehab it, and even then lifelong core stabilization exercises to prevent making it worse, but to prevent serious back pain and injury.
I can’t imagine the amount of heavy weights and straining etc he was doing with that injury, and it definitely didn’t look healed. With DR, we measure the gap in finger widths and his looked at LEAST 2-4 fingers wide! that is severe.
it was undoubtedly causing an insane amount of agonist/antagonist imbalance and catastrophic strain on his poor back. Bless you Ronnie!! 💛💪 #awareness
Ronnie still around.
The Fall of Addiction! #GetJesus
Total beast 💪💪💪💪💪💪
STILL the man!
Steroids ruined his health but at least he is still alive unlike many other bodybuilders. Not a word about steroid abuse killing bodybuilders in this video.
we all born we all will die someday for sure he also... but after that the world will remember his name forever that is the signature that he has given to this world and for sure in 2090 while doing workout poeple will say yeeeeeeeeeeeh buddy light weight❤❤❤
He completed natural for awhile to. Just goes to show you how impressive Ronnie was
May God bless you Ronnie
THE KING HAS BEEN DETHRONED
I can see the rise not the fall....what are you talking about, the man is a legend
Fix the tittle bro he never” fell off “ he’s the perfect example of giving it your all
No FALL at all Legend never FALL
Click bait. Dude is arguably still the face of bodybuilding, and hasn’t competed in years. I hate the internet
How u fall when he reached his peak as an middle aged man... father time beats all
"The New Era of the Roaring 20s, Voiceover tho."
You could be Ronaldo at 37 having won everything in the sport, and people would say you fell off because you aren’t as sharp and fast as you were at 23. I’ll never understand this logic
A legend yes & with all do respect it's all most unhuman like with his work epic. Unheard of. The body fatique will let you know vs the mind that refuses.
Addiction is what destroys us.
Ronnie lifted so much weight his spine exploded, killing a family of four.
That's tragic.
