Here is a specific example. I was driving from eastern Oregon to the Portland area. I have home charging. Outside temp was 22 degrees (my garage is not heated). When I left the battery was at 48 degrees. I navigated to a Supercharger about 90 miles away. The car preconditioned most of that 90 miles. When I plugged in at the Supercharger my battery was about 115 - 120 degrees (give or take, don't remember exactly). The advice in his video is 100% correct.
Picked up my Model 3 in December '23. I live in Southern NV and was just wondering how long preconditioning will take if even needed in the summer when we start having our triple digits days.
Also, if you set a departure time, the car will precondition the battery (unless it's below 20% charge and not plugged in). You'll also get better range than driving off cold.

Charge at home overnight. This is pretty stupid.
I agree, hence the video. I see this almost every morning at Superchargers and Electrify America locations. Some don't have a way to charge at home/apartment however.
I navigated to a supercharger 2 hours away from my house and still got the message
