- Unboxing my second set of RODE wireless pro units. I used the first set on a job and had a couple issues which I talk about in this video.
Audio for this video has been recorded with RODE wireless pro, compressor and voice isolation used in post.
All thoughts and opinions are my own, I paid for these units with my own money.
***rode are replacing the set that lost the file under warranty.

Thanks for the heads up on the mic backing on the Rode Lavalier II. That is so good to know.
Yeah it surprised me for sure. Might need to get the super glue out!
So glad to see your back with the uploads Videographer Stuff, I can't find these in-depth reviews anywhere else. Keep up the content mate!
Thanks mate, I’ll keep them coming 🎥
I really enjoy all this tech rode has made I do have lots of issues when connecting my Bluetooth to the rodecaster pro 2 sometimes it freezes or just lags only when I have both usb in used with 2 pc and a sm7b mic on it does it randomly and other times it never has an issue
Thanks for the comment. Have you contacted rode about that scenario? Their support team is generally very responsive.
I haven’t used the rodecaster before but I wonder if it has something to do with the internal placement of the Bluetooth transmitter?
@@videographerstuff539 I've seen a couple of people have it on Reddit but it could be a bug in the software maybe it's too overloaded with stuff it only has happened when I try to connect my phone via Bluetooth to hear music or phone calls it becomes very buggy
Thank you sir.
But let me ask you a doubt. I want to use it as a wireless hands free mic. Therefore as it is not UHF system ,will not the signals from mobiles etc. systems in the vicinity ,interfere when I use it as a public address system ( not for camera recording) .
That is an interesting question. Technically you would be able to plug it into a PA system but yes, if there was a long distance between the receiver and the mic you might get interference. In that case you might be better off using a dedicated microphone System
nice
Thanks for that
Rode always has better mic sound with baddest signal and firmware that may be damage it's unit
and support tell us it should go back for maintenance
i pay for what it damage by its firmware
i decide for now to go with holly land lark max, may be low mic quality but it simply stable and usable
Hey mate, how’s the hollyland going?still enjoying it?
When the transmitter locked up, was it still at least transmitting signal to camera? What I'm asking is, if I'm close to talent with my camera, if the transmitter locks up, will it still send me signal to receiver?
Hey mate, when it happened to me it didn’t send an audible signal to the receiver once it locked up. On the receiver it showed a solid level as if it was clipping on the metre and showed the tx units battery as empty.
So I don’t think it looses signal with the receiver I think it just jams up and freaks out while
Not capturing any audio.
Once I restarted the tx unit it turned back on showing full battery and work fine after that.
I’ve used them a bunch since that lock up and it seems to be working fine now. Fingers crossed it stays that way!
@@videographerstuff539 super scary. I own the zoom F2 and it’s locked up on me before. Was hoping this Rode system would be more reliable. This is bad.
Hopefully it was just a firmware issue. I haven’t had the issue again which is a positive. Gear failing is the worst, if only we could put multiple lavs and units only talent
If this guy got $1 for every time he said “uummm” he’d be rich
If only there was software to remove that for me 😜
❤ what's the price of it? Price comparison go 2 or pro which one is best? Thanks
If I didn’t have either kit I would definitely get the new pro version over the go 2. Here in Australia the price for pro kit is around $700 aud and the go 2 kit is now around $550 aud.
With the charging case and the new 2 lav mics and all the accessories plus having 32bit float, you can’t go wrong for the price of the pro.
@@videographerstuff539 thanks, for the answer & my next quston is my content is kirtan, for kirtan recording which should i go for, rode wireless go 2 or pro. I think pro price is so higher.
@@videographerstuff539 in pro 32 bit but memory inside 32 gb? Its too small for record 32 bit
Hey, sorry for the delay, my understanding of Kirtan is there would be a number of volume changes within a session, is this correct?
If you were unable to adjust your cameras audio input quickly to just you may need up with clipped Audi if it gets too loud of on the other end too hard to make it louder if the recording is too quiet. This is a big advantage of the 32bit float. There is around 44hours of onboard record available, so I feel that give me plenty of space to record things then back them up on my computer before clearing them off the tx unit.
But yes, it is a lot of money indeed. So that will just have to be up to you and your budget.
The wireless go2 is still a good product so if that’s your budget then go for it.
Hi, is it possible to charge transmitter while using?
Yes you can have the rx unit plugged into a power source while using it. I have tested it with a usb power bank as well as have the rx unit charging as well and it worked.
In the past on other brands of wireless transmitters I have run into problems with a ‘humming’ sound be heard when charging while recording.
@@videographerstuff539 thank you, I have one more question. Does timecode work without receiver? If you use only transmitters and 32bit recording. Or the clock is only in the receiver?
Hey mate, the timecode signal is sent via the receiver. So it you pulled out the tx units before turning on the rx and recorded a bunch of audio they won’t have timecode. If you have timecode activated on the receiver and turn it on then connect the tx units it will send the timecode to them. If you then turn off the rx unit the tx unit will still have timecode until you turn them off. Noting that they might drift after a while.
The following applies if you have already enable time code on your RX unit:
If you happen to start recording audio on a tx unit without turning the rx unit on, that file won’t have timecode, but if you turn on the rx unit mid recording the tx unit with automatically start a new file and that file will have timecode on it.
@@videographerstuff539 thank you!
oh no, i hate BUGBEARS
