Watched this in 2020 and it helped a lot! I did not know how to use the texture packs. Now my game looks better with FAR and the texture pack! Just finished the setup yesterday.
Just because you changed textures doesn't man your game will become like real life. Some textures just look better instead of looking like hot potatoes
I love being with PC. Finished building back in Feb. but man, these terrible ports are already getting old. I love the idea of modding, and I appreciate the community. But they should be focused on adding to games.... Not making them work.
Outdated video in 2022, don't follow these steps or your game will continually crash and you will be forced to reinstall/lose your save data FYI.

doesn't. If you need a shade mod get one you can use it via the far menu
