Say what you want about LoS series, but this is one of the most satisfying boss' deaths in the history of gaming.
It was killing Zobek - not Satan - Gabriel's ultimate goal and revenge. Zobek is the reason behind all the bad that happened to Gabriel.
Satan was still the one who orchestrated all the events though. He was the one who influenced Zobek and gave him the ideas to brainwash Gabriel into killing his wife and lie to him that there was a way to bring her back from the dead and then betray him after he did all the dirty work for him. Not that Zobek is innocent or anything and he obviously had it coming, but he didn't do all of that on his own. It was the old "devil's influence" trope.

I think we can agree that Zobek had every right to be pissed. The plan was to keep Satan away from earth, while Dracula and his son was attempting a big risk.
A big risk but a big reward in the end eliminating Lucifer would eliminate the evil of this world the smaller demons will not know what to do without their master
@@Yokyle4356 most likely follow Dracula now that he's essentially the big overlord of Hell now.
There was no plan to keep Satan away from earth, Zobek didn't plan to stop Satan's acolytes from bringing him back, he just wanted to use Dracula against Satan when he came back because he knew he was no match for him. Satan just didn't want to come back until he thought Dracula was out of the picture. Zobek betrayed Gabriel and ruined his life, which led to his descent into darkness, for him to call Dracula a betrayer here is comical.
@@KalvinEllis A small correction. Zobek was indeed planning to stop Satan's return, he never meant to fight/kill Satan with Dracula's help. Alucard specifically says to Gabriel "he knows that only with your help can the acolytes be destroyed and Satan's return foiled". The idea was to kill this last acolyte but Zobek most likely saw how they let the acolyte escape to let him bring Satan back and got mad at them and thought he could kill Dracula just because he had the Vampire Killer.

I really liked Death/Zobek's design in this game. It's so much better than the weird muppet-looking thing in the first LoS.

What I liked about this part of the game is the satisfaction Gabriel gets at the end. When he said 'He is mine,' in my opinion, that took the boss on a much more personal level. Gabriel REALLY had some beef and he REALLY needed to take care of it after SO long. Seriously, talk about holding a little revenge after all those years.😏
I like to think that killing Zobek was also taking care of unfinished business to a degree. Remember that Zobek was one of the Lords of Shadow, and the only one Gabriel didn't kill. Sure, his death was 99% for revenge, but now the world is finally free of their influence.

Nothing more funny to watch than Count Dracula killing the Grim Reaper and using his cross to kill the Devil later
Killing Zobek was probably one of the most immensely satisfying things for Dracula. Zobek literally forced Gabriel to kill his own wife, which was the crux of why Gabriel even went on his journey in the first game. Zobek created his own undoing.

This was a new one on me. I've been a fan of castlevania since I was a toddler. Death and Dracula were always BFFs. Don't get me wrong. This was a good game. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

It kinda pissed me off when they killed Zobek. He seemed more honest this time and it looked like when he called Gabriel “old friend” he meant it. Probably a newfound sentiment since Gabriel himself became a powerful creature of the night.
Zobek literally forced Gabriel to murder his own wife. They ain't friends.
ducuss When that happened, Zonek considered him to be just another insignificant human. Since then Gabriel has really earned Zonek’s respect as a creature of the night. Even if he didn’t care about that. Plus Zobek was manipulated too. He was just as much a pawn as Gabriel.
Hynotama does that make it any better though? If anything, Zobeks justification of him being a human, makes it even worse

I recently finished the main campaign months ago and BOY was it AMAZING!! Such a top notch game (Uh~ Minus the stealth parts...😅) to play.

this game is my favorite, i like all the games of the Lords of Shadows saga. though the only thing i didn't understand is. why is Alucard taller than Gabriel (Drácula)?

You can actually mist through most of his attacks instead of dodging, but that was some good gameplay nevertheless

There are some great moments in this game. It's a shame it's an overall disappointment, especially the end.

it was not the right time for zobek to interfere even he realizes that they are traitors because the most important thing for him to destroy satan and his acolyte at all cost and dracula was his only hope so why did he appear to kill dracula before he face satan when he was on his way he could wait until that or what else will he gonna do after he kills dracula

Zorbek still would have been a boss in a LoS 3, now that Stan is dead and there no one rulling the Hell. At least this was my theory of why he was laughing when Gabriel pierced him, he expectd Gabriel vistory over the Devil.

They should have just had Satan play a bigger role as Antagonist rather than a last second reveal in the first game, made him the strongest Lord of Shadow superior to Carmilla and Cornell, kept him in Hell or had Gabriel kill him by the end, and saved Zobek's betrayal and reveal as Death for this game so he could be the new Antagonist. Having both Jason Isaacs and Patrick Stewart share the spotlight is just clutter in an otherwise potentially great story and it doesn't help that both games commit the same mistake of having them play their hands right on top of each other.
Not sure why Zobek would dare to face Gabriel when he was defeated by the same person back in volume 1 and that same person also defeated Satan whom he was so afraid of.
He knew Dracula was there! That’s why he chose to be reborn elsewhere!
This game was good.but Castelvania:los 1 was a masterpiece

Mirror of Fate was a great side scroller for me personally. But yeah I miss playing LOS 1. I hope it is available as backwards compatible for Xbox 1 soon.

Theres 1 bug in cas los 2 i manage to get thru which is crazy i done it for years when u get to boss mission zobek when he turns into Reaper monster what u wanna do is so the game does not freeze is count 20 seconds fast before turning into mist form to finish the boss off i had to do it 3 times finally finished him off

The first one was much better on scale, story, characters etc. This game suffered from wanting to change it to much. Especially making it in modern times. Shame could have been much better. Rate 6/10. The first was 9/10

This is my favorite version of Dracula yet I believe in this form he's a lot more powerful than his old form hell he defeated Lucifer two times

It's a shame how this sequel was a total misfire after the original LoS. Teasing "modern" times while spending most of it in your own head was stupid. In any case, I'm glad the stinker produced a few gems like the conclusion of Zobek.

I really wish we can kill golgoth guards feels as if there the ultimate boss in the game and god has to be there immortal to your weapons story wise Gabriel runs from them in the train

Never did I, and i did this game in max difficulty plus the full Coliseum mirror on said difficulty. Mist just becomes available too late in the game. I personally saw that skill as nothing more than a puzzle feature.

This almost feels like Mercury Steam took a few pages out of Star Wars.
I just wish the bosses didn't spam the same dialogue over and over again... It takes away the punch that some of the lines would have if you only heard it once.

Dracula and Alucard let the satan be summoned in order to kill him. However, Zobek didn't want Satan to be summoned.
