Many spec sheet reader youtuber should learn that how to compare two bikes soo well with fun and enjoyment. Easy and informative video🔥 If i've to chose one of these two then it would be Hunter, Ronin is lame to ride...apart that TVS nailed it in every factor
I heard my brain and threw away what my heart said. I rest rode a hunter. Booked it. Then test rode Ronin. And cancled the hunter booking and bought Ronin. Its nearly similar priced but I got more on plate with Ronin. Don't know about hunter but in 10 months, everywhere I go people just gathered looking at my Ronin and praised it well.
Enjoyed this comparo. After riding both, I purchased Ronin. My top most priority was riding triangle, ergonomics and upright comfortable sitting position . The rear set footpegs and leaning forward body posture of Hunter I feel would not be comfortable in comparison with Ronin besides 21 kg extra weight. This is from my experience of riding Gixxer which tires one after 30 kms ride and has identical ergonomics as Hunter .
@art of unwinding Been a biker since 1977 . Learnt riding from Rajdoot and learnt the art of unwinding riding bikes namely Enfield 200, Jawa,Yezdi,RD 350, RX 100,Kinetic Honda, Pulsar, Unicorn, Activa ,Gixxer and currently enjoying riding Ronin which is a delightful bike and matches to expectations. Before purchasing Ronin I was smitten by Jawa but after a couple of test rides I could find it's short comings ie low ground clearance, engineer heating and gruff erratic engine noise. I didn't like gearing of Honda Highness and dropped the idea of owning BMW 310 R due to its high maintenance costs. I love riding my 21 years old Activa in Town and Ronin beyond city limits. I chanced to see your video today and like your narratives and would like to watch all of them soon since you fueled my art of unwinding 👍
Oh wow! Thanks much and am happy to hear that I've rekindled the motorcyclist in you. Best wishes. And rightly said, the Ronin is smooth and comfortable, the Jawa engine is gruff and has poor heat management, the CB gearing is too tall and the 310GS is not only high on maintenance but also suffers from high frequency vibes. Astute observations by you. Cheers!
Ronin was an easy pick for me over I had the benefit of not already being married to RE. A Ronin v2 with a more powerful engine and lesser boo boos would be even better. Great discussion by experienced riders who clearly love what they do.
Looks like TVS has made each part separately without an outline and has put the parts together.....although each part is well finished the complete esthetic outcome is poor...doesn't look proprtionate...each part looks borrowed.Whereas Hunter looks compact , very well designed almost looks like a Triumph Street Twin.
Yes some people say there are some cars which go fast but you won't understand the speed while you are inside, Ronin is that type of vehicle. Many reviewers says hunter got more throttle response, but actually Ronin gives more throttle response, more break response. Check out drag races on RUclips between this two bikes you will understand. The initial pickup is soo aggressive on Ronin but in top end hunter is better. But still if everyone says hunter is more aggressive I have to say Ronin nailed it that the user get a relaxed feel even when it have a better aggressive output. Yes the tail light is the only thing I didn't like in Ronin. If I say I have to mention something else, I would say I don't like the silver color in Ronin. The orange is the best then blue then red(your choice at end of the day). I don't know why many showrooms don't give the orange model for test ride. It gives more visual appeal
Fantastic review 👍, as always. On the question of heart or head , if it's predominantly for commuting I would choose a bike by logic. When fuel prices, potholes, scientifically designed humps, water logging, traffic comes into play definitely want a bike that makes sense. If it's predominantly for getaway riding I would want a bike that puts a smile on my face than bore me. Here with these two bikes, for Open roads - RE Hunter for sure , Commuting - TVS Ronin makes sense.
I am a bank employee, most of my posting will be in village part, i would like to go on bike trips as well. And ufcorse milage is one of the major factors for me. So which one should i go for?
Thats a tough call. Both can perform reliably and comfortably in rural settings. The Hunter is excellent in low and medium speed while the Ronin is good at medium and high speeds. Take a long test ride of both back to back and choose what you find more comfortable. Cheers!
Kudos on the wonderfully relaxed and well balanced review and comparison of the two bikes. Such well balanced view points are a rarity these days. I enjoyed the video every bit. I am very much leaning towards the RE Hunter 350, but the only things holding me back are the ground clearance and the halogen lamps on the RE. Could you please share details as in how big an issue the low ground clearance on the Hunter might be!? I am mainly concerned about potholes and steeply built (non-standard height) speed breakers. Also, how does the halogen lamp of the Hunter compare to the Ronin's LED lamps? A clarification on these two points would be much appreciated.
Thanks. Glad you liked the video and find it useful. We have not checked the beam pattern on the Ronin. The halogen on the Hunter is focussed well and does a good job. The ground clearance is only a mild concern on the Hunter and if riding with 2 heavy persons, the centre stand might scrape occasionally. Personally we wouldn't care but scraping can be an irritant for some. You will just have to ride, try, test and understand. Worth the effort. Singles, we had no issues anywhere. Cheers!
Love to hear your conversation gentlemen. Like the tensions on your face when giving the final verdict. It shows your sincerity & commitment. lots of love from Kolkata..! Just took home a Ronin a fortnight ago... initially the overall look was a bit of an eyesore, but with time.. my perception has changed, now i find the looks appealing and unique. Everything else is just awesome in Ronin.
Great I also ended on Ronin and so far the decision is worth it. The only problem is the tvs service engineers are not trained to deal with the machine.
I saw your Hunter video, and have seen videos of many bikes, attracted by few but fell in love with only Hunter for period, wished to atleast see it once in real life, ride it & buy it, use it for a while. After hearing all the positives of Ronin, my mind said only design & proportionate flaw can it be painted like Hunter to make it atleast look neat. Or Just buy the speedometer of Ronin and fit in the place of RE (any advance clustometer) and remove the dual shock absorbers and put a mono shock. Change the mirrors and be done with it. 😂 Still i liked Hunters look and symmetry, proportion and distribution, paint work. (Loved the Hunter bike in ur Org. Hunter overreview vid) ❤
Nicely done comparison video though I would have like to see a ride review on different road conditions. Between the 2 Ronin would be my choice simply because the rear suspension of Hunter is hard as per all reviews. That's one big factor though Ronin is not plush
Nice reviews and comparisons, though it is a half hour video I didn't realise it. You made everything clear for all the buyers. Though I bought Ronin, 1 month ago, as my brain said, but now ❤️ is saying could have bought Hunter as it is a Royal Enfield. Also Getting aftermarket parts is easy for Royals. But For Ronin, I am not getting any products. I have no complaints about the Raiding ability of Ronin, it's fun. Mileage is 40-42kmpl before 1st service. Head light throw at night is also very good. Call alerts and navigation are very good features. TVS should launch the scrambler kit to get rid of the back light and bulky back fender..
I like the Ronin concept. I don't need a 350. A 200 is good enough for me But will dread to buy one because of parts unavailability and poor service at Kolkata.
Its up to you to choose dont listen to these creators, they have their own opinion, if you really wanna buy just go on a test ride, afterall youre the one spending money not them
Great Reviewing style. I clearly have a bias towards Hunter, not just because it's from Royal Enfield, but because the design looks much more composed and solid than the Ronin. The Ronin just doesn't click with me. Don't forget about the customizations we get with the Hunter; they can make all the difference in the world.
Yes, we think it can. It is designed to work as a mono-shock and so it certainly can handle the loads. Prolonged full load use will lead to wear and tear like any component and as a routine maintenance, it can come up for replacement.
2:15 it's meant to be an all purpose bike. Hence the block pattern tyres. Also the reason behind the marketing campaign #unscripted The bike can be whatever you make it to be
Is there any reserve tank capacity in tvs Ronin ? Or hunter ??? If yes ..plz say how much is the reserve tank capacity in both the bikes. Is thr any reserve, main n fuel off switch is provided in any of these bikes??? 2.And also pls say me the distance to empty feature in tvs Ronin ??? Is it showing accurate distance or not .. 3. Wat is the trip F in the hunter 350 ?? They are providing trip A ,trip B n trip F ...
There is a reserve indicator on both. It's an approximate indication for the user. After a while of usage one can understand it and use the motorcycle accordingly. It is a matter of getting used to it. Fuel tap and on and off controls are things of the past. Cheers!
It's unlikely to be a direct fit. If you want better lighting for the Hunter, consider installing a LED bulb. Something of 5500-6000K color temperature and 7500+ lumens.
I own Hunter 350 i nearly saw 100 of comparisons. everyone in end had the same topic tooo many specs in Ronin design ronin functionality Ronin still i donno why my heart fixed on it and took HUNTER 350 now the only decision i made in my life correctly is HUNTER .
I commute around up and down 80km on udupi nation highway and in weekend or occasionally i go long like to Bangalore or Mysore Chikmagalur is it suitable for me sir im 6ft please guide me
The problem for me when thinking about Hunter is that it provides Spoke Wheels and Tubed Tyres in the base variant. That means Ronin is a complete package in Rs 1.75 L whereas for Hunter I must spend 2L for satisfaction.
Hunter if I think I would not regret choosing hunter. The connection really matters cause when you riding... feeling matters the most and it definitely comes with hunter not Ronin
Alas all your Hunter & Ronin videos I saw by thinking these are the ones that are best under 2L for mini touring trips with gf(hopefully in this eternity) or with friend only. but the old cool guy chose hunter for city traffic and ronin for mysore trip 😢. what do you think would be a good legal visual modification to make the ronin look more appealing?
Need to think about that. As per the letter of the law, no mods are legal. Even a mirror cannot be changed.
Does the monoshock of the Ronin hold good weight and will it catch a problem in future with prolonged pillion use ?
