Sir in question it is given that the 10% students failed in both .. so with the help of this we do find total failed students..=. 40% But in question it is given that the 84 students passed in both... So we take take total students =60% why don't we take students passed in both subjects= 90%.
Dear, friend if you go through the video , you will clearly understand that 10% failed in both the subjects doesn't mean that 90% students are pass in both the subject. It clearly identified that 90% students include students passed in at least one subject and it also includes the percentage of student passed in both. Thats why we have to identify the students who are passed in both and not the 90% which include both + at least one subject pass student. Hope i have made it clear if still you have doubt than you can comment. Thanks for watching and share it with you friends.
Some students (only boys and girls) from different schools appeared for an Olympiad exam. 20% of the boys and 15% of the girls failed the exam. The number of boys who passed the exam was 70 more than that of the girls who passed the exam. A total of 90 students failed. Find the number of students that appeared for the exam.
Sir it was good but I needed the solution of another question- out of hundred students 50 failed in English and 30 in mathematics if 12 students fail in both English and mathematics and number of students who passed in both the subject is........sir please answer this question
hi kinni thx for your comment in such question find the students failed in one subject. like in english 50 - 12 = 38 and in maths 30 - 12 = 18 fail in both are 12 now add all failed 38 + 18 + 12 = 68 total failed students. and now passed students are = total - failed = 100 - 68 = 32 yr answer failed in both are subtracted because in venn diagram it is to be counted once. and if you add the students given in question directly then it will be counted thrice. so you can subtract 24 also by adding figures in question and then further subtracting by 100. hope i make it understood thx
12 is failed in both exams, 38 in english, and 18 in maths. now we have to find total failed students. then you have to add all failed students. and subtract all failed from total number of students . you will get passed in both. you can use set formula also. here AUB = n(A) + n(B) - n(A∆B) AUB is not the total number of students it is total failed students in a class. put the values of question directly. AUB= 50 + 30 - 12 AUB = 68 now Passed students = 100 - 68 = 32. in another method you can find passed students of each subject and then also you can find. watch my videos on venn diagram and try to do along with the videos.
in an examination 30% of the student has fail in mathematics,20% of the student fail in statistics and 10%have failed have both mathematics and statistics a student selected at random what is probability that the student has failed in mathematics if it is known that he has failed in statistics?
sorry for delayed reply chirag as i was upset due to some domestic reasons, i am not updated with the question you have asked but i am providing the solution. i suggest you to go through the theory part of venn and probability from a good source. yr solution P(S) = 20% = 1/5 P(m∆s) = 10% = 1/10 P (M/S) = P(M ∆ S)/ P(S) = (1/10)÷(1/5) =1/2= 50%
Pass wale mai apko, 10% failed students hai dono subject mai, to apko pata hai ki 90% bache ek ya ussey adhik subject mai pass honge. Toh Pass wale venn diagram mai hamara (AUB) jo purey pass waley students ki value ho jayegi 90% or hamey nikalna hai ki dono subject mai pass honey waley bachey. aap venn diagram formule mai sari values rak dijiye n(A) = 70, n(B)= 80, n (AUB) = 90 apka n(A /\B) aajayega jo ki apke pass wale venn diagram mai dono subject mai pass wale bachey hai, baki aagay aap solve karlenge. Agar samj aaya to feedback jaroor de, or nahi to sath sath aap isko karne ka try karey.

Sir it was good but I needed the solution of another question-
out of hundred students 50 failed in English and 30 in mathematics if 12 students fail in both English and mathematics and number of students who passed in both the subject is........sir please answer this question
hi kinni thx for your comment
in such question find the students failed in one subject.
like in english 50 - 12 = 38
and in maths 30 - 12 = 18
fail in both are 12
now add all failed 38 + 18 + 12 = 68 total failed students.
and now passed students are = total - failed = 100 - 68 = 32 yr answer
failed in both are subtracted because in venn diagram it is to be counted once. and if you add the students given in question directly then it will be counted thrice. so you can subtract 24 also by adding figures in question and then further subtracting by 100.
hope i make it understood thx
@@MathoMatics sir 1 more question, why you added 12 in 4th line?
12 is failed in both exams, 38 in english, and 18 in maths.
now we have to find total failed students. then you have to add all failed students. and subtract all failed from total number of students . you will get passed in both.
you can use set formula also. here
AUB = n(A) + n(B) - n(A∆B)
AUB is not the total number of students it is total failed students in a class.
put the values of question directly.
AUB= 50 + 30 - 12
AUB = 68
now Passed students = 100 - 68 = 32.
in another method you can find passed students of each subject and then also you can find.
