Excellent piece of work!! Thank you very much for Sharing!!!!!
What a way of meeting people and get to see their talent. At first was reluctant being on youtube, but getting to do this has brought me into the houses of some very special people. You are one of them. Life; isn't it wonderful!!! Keep up the good work. Hope You Are Having A Splendid Day!!!!
Man o Man! That is the coolest CSX footage I think I have EVER seen! That horn sounds awesome and seeing them go down the street! Deserves more that 5***** and I added as favorite also!
That is too cool, I will have to make the run down from Orlando to see this! Love the sound of the Geeps notching just after they cross the street, at about 3:45. Excellent.
Thanks. Have crossed this track many times but never seen a train on it. Used to work downtown. Always thought it was strange, thought maybe it was defunct. I want to pull up beside it in my car and yell to the conductor "Wanna race?" ;)
Man!!! Those CSX GP-38s units are pretty clean, must have had a new paint job. That's a lot of covered hopper cars on that local manifest consist. I guess there maybe a very large grain plant near by. Good Post!!
@Ham549 I believe the speed limit through here is 10mph. There are flashing lights but no gates. The traffic lights for cross traffic are supposed to turn red when the train is coming.
@lupo0144 In some places you'll see this here (USA), It's just a normal train that happens to go down a section of track that's in the middle of the road. Railroad have diffrent Laws as far as property ownership goes. An example, A railroad in the USA can not be eminent domained, they can actualy eminent domain you, a local company found that out the hard way.
this is a branch line that goes to a couple of port facilities down near Macdill AFB. i've see pics from the 70's on rrpicture archives that there used to be 2 tracks here
@lectronamo The train is only allowed to go 10 mph through Downtown. Plus when the train is approaching there are the flashing signals and the traffic lights turn red for the opposing traffic to stop.
Nice. I remember seeing pics of Wick having them take the NS OCS down the streets of Savannah GA shortly after he got the F Unit's ready. You think Tony Ingram would do the same with the CSX OCS?
Fabulous video, that is nuts seeing a train going right down the street like that. Is that just a local on branch? Great stuff. I remember seeing sights like this in Baltimore when I was a kid.
Thank you. I would say he stopped because of the traffic not stopping for that crossing and the blind corner because of construction. I took this with my old Canon PowerShot A530.
For anyone that wants to know the train still runs through downtown every weekday and some weekends from 5-6 PM (usually after 5:30) and some other time that I'm not sure of. A guy in a red Chevy minivan comes to lower the Cass St train bridge about 10-15 minutes before the train comes through. If you see the red minivan parked on the downtown side of the bridge around 5:00 you know the train is coming through. The train might get a police escort for the RNC, which would be really cool...
That was weird if you see a train on the street in Tampa. I have never seen that on the street. The railroad tracks are there and I saw several vehicles. Are you kidding me?
@kenjr29mfl Any idea why he stopped? Did he actually stop or was he still moving very slowly? But better to stop and avoid being hit by someone. There are deaf drivers. They must have opportunity to see the locomotive and stop since they will not hear it. Hey, you missed a blond at her car at 5:55. Where are your priorities?

Fantastic location!
Never saw something like that.
Thank's a lot for sharing!
Man o Man! That is the coolest CSX footage I think I have EVER seen! That horn sounds awesome and seeing them go down the street! Deserves more that 5***** and I added as favorite also!
Must be brilliant being so close! Got to be a hell of a sight watching it!!!
Awsome video! Always love to see local action here in the Tampa Bay Area!
This is awesome, I wish we had a train that ran the streets in Maryland that isn't the light rail.
That is too cool, I will have to make the run down from Orlando to see this! Love the sound of the Geeps notching just after they cross the street, at about 3:45. Excellent.

I love it you go TRAIN that your TRACK.
Awesome video, also I had no idea QGRY newsprint cars could be seen as far south as Florida!
awesome
@Ham549 I believe the speed limit through here is 10mph. There are flashing lights but no gates. The traffic lights for cross traffic are supposed to turn red when the train is coming.
@Megahammerheadshark It is really cool. Especially when you drive along side of the train.

@lectronamo The standard track gauge in America is 4 ft 8 1/2 inches or or 56 1/2 inches. The weights vary between different type of locomotives.
No matter how many videos I watch of this, every time I'm thinking "that's not right."
this is a branch line that goes to a couple of port facilities down near Macdill AFB. i've see pics from the 70's on rrpicture archives that there used to be 2 tracks here
It's always cool to see in person.
Try to imagine that you're waiting for the light to change and all of a sudden a train pulls up next to you also waiting for the light to change. LOL!
Great video! When does this train typcially run?
very nice catch!
@lectronamo The train is only allowed to go 10 mph through Downtown. Plus when the train is approaching there are the flashing signals and the traffic lights turn red for the opposing traffic to stop.
Thanks

It's more than cool....This is awesome! : )
Pretty trippy that intersection.
Street running is awesome!!!!!!
Awesome 5*!!!!!!!!!!!

Great video. Thanks for posting.

I took this with my old Canon PowerShot A530.
@Diesellok218 Thank you. This was on Polk St in Tampa, FL.
Nice video and horn!
I am lucky to have two of them in my area.
@VideoCyberspace That would be cool. Especially if you weren't expecting it.
Thank you. I caught him around 6-6:30pm.
I saw that in a comercial, but I haven't seen the movie yet.
@WRRRA1997 That's pretty awesome to see something like this going down your street! We dont have anything like this! Maybe a tram in a city center!
Street running is weird and cool. Nice video!
That line has been there a long time and the city just built up around it.
@tom618ful The trolley tracks are about a mile southeast of here.
Good video!
This was the first time I ever filmed a train in downtown Tampa. This was filmed around 6pm on a Sun.
@lectronamo I'm not sure. It's not listed in the specifications I'm looking at, but it does have 61,000 lbs of tractive effort.
We still see some on some of the yard jobs down here.
@TWFsbeast I haven't heard of any in that area. The train is only allowed to do 10mph.
Now that was great, thats something I don't get to see where I live.
@bamboozledguy If you notice the cars seemed to be ignoring the warning lights to stop. So he stopped to be sure the traffic did before proceeding.
Interesting!
Why did train stop at 2:30?
Why video so "jerky"?
Thank you for posting this.
Thank you. The traffic is supposed to stop for the train.
@jeffdarga1 Sometimes you see some very artistic stuff on the cars.
That's wild! I love street running.
@thestuffz That's cool. Thanks.
With flashing signals but no gates. I think the traffic lights turn red to stop cross traffic as well.
@Chicagojoe28 As far as I know it's just this one train that goes through here twice a day in the late afternoon / evening at least five times a week.
Thanks. No there's no grain plant near that I know of.
@kenjr29mfl .... Thanks! Didn't know if this was normal practice!
@daz99uk5 It's even weirder when you are driving right next to it.
@lectronamo No kidding. What do you mean by security? There are flashing signals at the crossings.
Thanks for the info.

In some parts of America the Rail line came first and the town/city was built around it! Might b the case here in Tampa!
This is so cool.
why the hell is there a train inside the city? who planned it that way? jeez...
@pwalpar Thanks, Walter.
@MickFix Thank you.
I know. It's awesome.
@BashirTheTrainMaster Sure looks it. I know it's fun to film it.
@CSXandSpartanfan33 Thank you.
Yes they are.
I don't think thet have that in mind any time soon.
well about 2 hrs from me Ns does Street running through a town called Brownsville Note* this is in Pennsylvania
Excelent horn !
If I could only drive one of those down 42nd Street in NYC....
I sure miss seeing the caboose on the back of the trains.
Yes. That is a parking garage.
Yes it does. But this doesn't usually happen though. He stopped because the traffic wasn't stopping at first.
That was weird if you see a train on the street in Tampa. I have never seen that on the street. The railroad tracks are there and I saw several vehicles. Are you kidding me?
Trains have been running down that street for over 100 years. There's a street like that in Clearwater too.
cool - lucky you!!
@Megahammerheadshark Yes it is. Thanks.
That is awesome!
Well thats something you don't see everyday, : ) cool vid.
@GreatSongwriters There was probably no better cost effective alternative way to re-route it.
That is the Port Tampa spur.
EPIC VIDEO!!!!!
@erickdircks Thank you.
@p42Amtrak83 Thank you.
@MrZkr123 No, but that sure would be funny to see.
@padaneis Thank you.
Not really. As the train approaches the traffic lights are supposed to turn red along with the signals so cross traffic stops.
As far as I know the traffic lights are timed with the crossing signals.
@deltalphapwns I bet that would be fun.
@switchpoints32 Polk St in Downtown Tampa, FL.
Where are your priorities?
unbelievable!!!!!!
@lupo0144 As far as I know this was always used by regular trains.
Yes it is.
Wonder why he stop in the middle of the road at about 239 for a few? And do you know about how fast they go when they are going down the streets?
