I think the timeskip is gonna be a year at most. They wouldn't have gone to the trouble of reversing Jaune's physical age to that of a 19yr old if we were in for a timeskip bigger than that.
Ruby does mention the relics during her broadcast in passing and said that Glynda and Theodore can verify all the information. So they’re at least aware of the term.
Ngl I just want to see all the reactions to the group coming back after being presumed dead for god knows how long. Weiss and her family (Klein included). Tai and Qrow with Ruby and Yang. Ghira, Kali and Sun with Blake. But the one I’m looking forward to most is Ren and Nora with Jaune. After losing their parents, Kuroyuri, Beacon and everyone there, their teammate Pyrrha, and everything since then, I just want to see how they would react to regaining someone they thought lost forever - never mind five people. But after losing Pyrrha, I want to see how much they have come to terms with the loss of RWBY and Jaune, only for them to miraculously return
i don't think it will be that long at all, if it is weeks or months after the fall of atlas they lose all the build up they did by senting mercury and tyrian before everyone else to vacuo.
I can just see Ren and Nora tackling Jaune to the ground, hugging him with tears in their eyes. So happy to see him alive. I see them hugging Team RWBY, crying just as much. I can also see Jaunes family. His sister all crying at seeing their baby brother alive and well. (if we meet them in season 10, of course) I can't wait to see the happy reunions
I would also want to see their surprise on how much Jaune has matured during vol 10. Since in vol 9, Jaune has spent years in the ever after, becoming an adult before Alyx's wish turned him back to his teenage self. So it would be an interesting story for his close ones to realize this part of his character during their interactions

Out of all the things that are to be expected from this Time-skip, the one I'm most interested is the progression of the merge of Oscar and Ozpin. I am very confident that the Merge is complete, especially considering how closely similar they were at the end of Volume 8. My hope is that he is still the Oscar we know and love just more mature, regardless I'm excited for what's to come.
Who else here can only hear the words "the merging is complete" in the voice of an SC1 Archon? There's also one other thing to consider about Oscar and the length of any timeskip: a skip of a year or two would age him up close to, or all the way up to, the same age as Ruby. I'm not a particular Rosegarden shipper myself (come ON Lancaster!), but it's certainly one direction the show could take.
I think ther merge is gonna be more along the lines of Oscar becomes more like Ozpin, gains his memories and magic etc, but he’s still Oscar at the end of the day. When Oz first appears in Oscar’s head he says he remembers the same confusion as what Oscar was feeling, implying that he was Ozpin, not Ozma. At the age Oz was at though, the merge was probably so thorough that he just adopted being Ozma anyway. That’s just my headcanon tho
It wouldn't surprise me if they got the cannon on Amity from the mech in Argus and repaired it, or if Atlas had a similar weapon under construction in an off-site facility and it was transported with Amity to Shade Academy. I think enough time in Vacuo will have passed for the characters we know to have become fully licensed huntsmen, but none of them know that Jaune was the Rusted Knight, for most of them, he was probably a childhood hero, and for some, he was probably their inspiration for becoming a huntsmen or huntress in the first place, like Ruby said, they wanted to a hero like the stories hey were read as children, and according to Blake 'The Girl Who Fell Through The World' is a favourite of everyone's, so Jaune is a internationally recognised childhood hero.
One reunion I can’t wait to see is Winter and Weiss. I have a feeling that Winter is mentally beating herself up for not being able to save her little sister, while also training to the point of exhaustion.
To be fair, she lost her flying fortress and half of her Cabal. Cinder betrayed Watts and Neo and left them for dead. Hazel turned on Salem and sacrificed himself to stall her. And Emerald defected. Salem just needs two more Relics but Oz hid one of them real good. Plus she's a patient woman. She's been plotting for centuries. Worth it to ruin the world as one last "F-You!" to the Brothers before finally getting her wish.
I always thought amity was just obscured behind a separate giant ship, but I really like the idea of it having been turned into a gurren lagann style battleship I also REALLY hope crwby doesnt just brush off the fact that Juane is now, despite appearance, a middle-aged man and should behave more like the other adults than a teenager, like the others. Ill be very disappointed if they just have him acting 19 again
The perspective seems very funny to me for it to be Amity being augmented. The canon seems WAY to large if it's attached to the coliseum so I suspect there's just something in front of it.
It's going to be tricky to write it right though....although it's lazy it might be better if jaune actually does kinda regress back to his teen self albeit with all the memories and experiences from ever after

I'd say based on the size of the Amity Battle-Cruiser I'd say RWBY and Jaune were gone for a couple of years, and I'm saying that from a logistics standpoint. The size of Amity Colosseum(Tower) took roughly a year as Pheonix said. Now, to fix, collect, repair, and move it from The Atlas Tundra to Vacuo, then build a full size Battle-Cruiser (I'm guessing but to me it seems likely) of the same magnitude would've taken around the same time (roughly), and then putting the two together; yeah, I'd say 2 years.
The Atlas Military most likely, was coordinated and organized by Winter. Amity was probably also used for communication between the other academies. I'm sure that time passed differently in the Ever After. I can't wait to see the reunions, and hopefully backstory explanations. Been a while, Phoenix. ;)
They did not feel the pressure that first time they rebuilt it. now they do. so I'm reasonably sure every resource, from across the lands, were brought to bear to provide adequate 'deterrent' for similar creatures. And if the work itself was not done at near fever pitch, I'm a footstool.

I get that the time skip is necessary, as you can't just organise an army, let alone the defences of a city in just a day. But I can't really see it being more than a year. Part of me feels like if I were Salem (and yes, she did summon Monstroe which must've taken a lot of time and grim energy to create, only to be destroyed by Oscar), I would at least to strike while the iron is hot. Especially with most of her war council/agents lost during the battle for Atlas. She's only got Tyrion and Mercury already there, but I'm sure they'll be targeted and caught eventually. What I do expect to see happen is all the common people recognising Ruby for her broadcast.
Im hoping thats its more of a 4-5 year time skip. Just imagine what possibe new confirmed ships would appear on screen and what i would be more excited for the "products" of said ships.

It's great to have a new theory vid after a bit! I do agree that there was probably a decently large time skip but given that Atlas had probably never attempted to upgrade Amity before the fall of Beacon, I think that sort of knowledge would make it easier a second time. Maybe not taking a full year, although the loss of dust and other technological resources would balance that out. I also presume it would take at least 6 months if not longer to actually move Amity from the remains of Atlas to Vacuo considering Amity doesn't have the best equipment or shape to move quickly. It would be under a lot of fire simply escaping and who knows how quickly Salem recovered from her defeat and whether it is possible that she used her knowledge of grimm goop to rebuild her forces with the staff she now has.
Something that i have NOT heard mentioned here; the Time Skip possibly working *against* RWBY. They were MIA for a couple of days, save Jaune, but they are essentially at the same skill level they were at going into the Battle of Atlas. To have a time skip of anymore than 18 months would potentially negate a sizable chunk of the power difference between RWBY and their peers. My personal guess would be 10-18 months; as the enemy has no need to worry about deadlines, economies, or physical health of their fighting force, Battleship Amity would likely have been top priority with work ongoing 24/7 until completed. Maybe they inspired their peers to rapidly progress in strength to nearly close that gap, but the phrase 'when needed most' also assures us RWBY will be very much still relevant and not struggling to play catch-up.
I do believe there is a timeskip but the only issue I have if there is a timeskip, let’s just say it’s been 1 or 2 years. What have mercury and Tyrian been doing for that amount of time, they got a significant head start
I think it's likely 2:3 years But Salem said that she will do everything herself & she already sent Tyrian & Merc to Vacuo So how Salem in those 1 or 2 years didn't take Vacuo & if it's in some months how they build that big canon in Arena + gathering Army from the rest in kingdoms & don't forget getting the Arena from the space how they did all of that in a few months
I feel like amity could’ve undergone all that construction in easily less than a year. The only reason it took so long the first time was because Robyn and the Happy Huntresses kept stealing all the materials meant for amity

The changes to Amity Arena alone would suggest to me anywhere between 5 to 15 years have passed, just for the sheer construction time needed for that kind change.

I think there won't be much of a time skip, I would say a few months, because I think the Ever Afters timeline may have followed the similar timeline as Narnia in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe ^^ I remembered watching the classic animated film from 1979 and I remember the scene where the Professor told Peter and Susan that no matter how long they stayed in Narnia it would not interfere with their timeline in the real world ^^ So from that logic I think everyone would still be their same age as in previous volumes ^^ Great video as always ^^

this a good theory to say the least, but I doubt it's been over a year or two, you were right on the 48 hours thing, but a year or two is putting it mildly, well I had a theory of my own for awhile, and my theory is, that Ruby and company had spent 48 hours and 2 days in the Ever After, where as in Remnant, 2 weeks, 13 days and 336 hours have passed while they were gone.
I personally think Amity is being carried by that battleship. I don't think they're one thing. Amity can no longer fly by itself so it was probably easier to put it on another ship that they already had ready. I still think the time skip is going to be about a year, but I don't think it will be any more than that.
Here's a theory for you. The Arc's are rich, possibly so insanely rich that they don't like to advertise it. Like Warren Buffett not living in a mega mansion and getting McDonald's value meals for breakfast. Today was looking at the Cotta-Arc house, as Argus is modelled after San Francisco and looking at house prices in there to similar looking buildings, the houses at low end $2,000,000 but the average seems to be around $6M to $9M. Now Terra may be paid well but thinking the Arc family paid a big chunk for it and they just don't flash the cash around. Irony would be when they try to rebuild the SDC they find out that the Arc's are major shareholders.
Given how the gun appears to be attached to Amity's side, I suspect it was made by just attaching an existing airship to Amity and building the gun inside it.
There's no way they've been gone for a whole year, if they were, Salem would have taken over already. It took Watts and Tyrian a couple of weeks to destabilize Atlas enough for Salem's arrival. If it took them an entire year in Vacuo then wtf were they even doing? Nah, the timeskip will be a handful of months, I'd estimate 4-6 at most. Qrow and the Ace Ops would tell the Argus forces what happened on their way to Vacuo, which would mobilize them immediately. Argus could then send Mistral city the news, as well as redirecting anyone who came to Atlas' aid too late (let's be real here, that'll mostly be Menagerie). The folks in Vacuo would get the drift as soon as the sandstorm lifts and they see their suddenly doubled population sitting outside the city walls. That really only leaves Vale and Amity unaccounted for, and Vale would likely be getting a messenger airship within a couple days, sent from either Argus or Mistral. And Amity isn't necessarily in the Solitas tundra, either. Their descent was inevitable but slow, and Pietro notably said they'd land "just north of-" before getting cut off. He could be just north of anywhere, technically, but the way he said it made it sound like their trajectory wasn't to the middle of nowhere. Hell, they could possibly be landing just north of Vacuo City itself, for all we know. I'd be willing to guess they're near enough to somewhere populated that they could probably get the repairs done within a couple of weeks, and as soon as that's in the sky again, the world communications would go back up and everything suddenly gets a lot easier. Amity doesn't need to get upgraded ASAP. They just need it in the sky to start with. From there, the coordinated communications of the 4 remaining world powers (Atlas gone but Argus and Menagerie should at least count as 0.5 each) I think would be capable of planning and organizing a defense rather quickly. (And while that defense is being planned, I fully expect a lot of airship travel between kingdoms regardless, as supplies are shipped in and refugees are shipped out, to be scattered more evenly across the globe.) So yeah, a few months, tops. Otherwise Tyrian and Mercury have been sitting on their asses, and the remaining world leaders have done too little with the time they had.

Of course this is all speculation and hope at this stage, because as far as I know Volume 10 has not been green lit yet. Hopefully we will find out about that from the upcoming RTX.

Ironwood was not dead, so maybe he is still around in some capacity. Who is leading at this point? Do they have access to the summer maiden as well as Winter's winter maiden powers? I agree that a significant amount of time has passed, but I think they have enough levers that they can make it whatever they need to move the story forward, which is all I want. Since I checked, and the relic at Vacuo is the relic of Destruction, I wonder if we could get some good conflicts around how and whether to use it against Salem.
Yes, I think Vacuo will be amazing. I think it would have been at least two years because the airship production would need to be that long. Also Salem would need time to recover, as she would need to make a larger Monstra.

Honestly I see two years, maybe even 3. Simply figuring everything out, devising, and communicating a plan will take at least a year. Then factor another year to execute a move everyone and everything. You need to account for everybody being under constant fire from Salem's grimm armies through all of this. Additionally, 3 years puts Oscar the same age as Ruby, if they're going to do that ship. On another note, I can totally see Ren/Nora having a shotgun wedding shortly after they accepted all their other friends were dead, cuz life's too short and all that.
I think they RWBYJ might be gone for 5 or 10 months, one years, not many years. It might be too much of a big change of everyone got older. Also, I think Salem not going to wait around a long Period of time for the heroes to Come back?
I think Colosseum became more of a mobile headquarters. What I seen it's mostly two different ships One is the Colosseum must have been turned into a mobile Command centre and the ship near it must have a heavy Canon which can destroy a monster in seconds. I think maybe 10 months or 1 year. My thoughts and one thing I hate times skips.
I don't think Volume 10 will pick up from the "timeskip" I actually think Volume 10 will cover what happened from the end of Volume 8 on Remnant. Granted they have ALOT to cover (hopefully it's not a short volume). Also the Amity thing shows two outlines which makes me think the battle ship is separate from Amity, but time has definitely passed.

Let's just say that jaune in the Ever After was completely alluded to Robert Neville from i am legend. For example. Jaune had been all alone for many years. And i'm pretty sure that team RWBY spent 2 nights in ever after was probably 2 hours in remnant. I'm pretty sure it was. When Cinder found out that Ruby Rose was still alive, she would cry like a baby and probably hear pyrrah's voice in her head. I know that Cinder had a lot of depression. Believe me.
I would have thought Menagerie was a Kingdom of its own, but I admit that it has no military at all, other than the White Fang, but that's more of a fringe group than a legit military.
I'll be honest, the first few times I watched ep 10.... I thought it was 2 different ships (1 being Amity, and 1 being a new battleship). It took about the 5th or 6th viewing to realize it was one ship haha.
I’m personally hoping it’s a two year time skip. One where Nora and Ren are together and expecting, and now Ozpin has mostly taken over Oscar with the ex-farmhand now having to make an effort to resurface to interact with his friends. That’s just my expectations.

I'd say based on the size of the Amity Battle-Cruiser I'd say RWBY and Jaune were gone for a couple of years, and I'm saying that from a logistics standpoint. The size of Amity Colosseum(Tower) took roughly a year as Pheonix said. Now, to fix, collect, repair, and move it from The Atlas Tundra to Vacuo, then build a full size Battle-Cruiser (I'm guessing but to me it seems likely) of the same magnitude would've taken around the same time (roughly), and then putting the two together; yeah, I'd say 2 years.
The Atlas Military most likely, was coordinated and organized by Winter. Amity was probably also used for communication between the other academies. I'm sure that time passed differently in the Ever After. I can't wait to see the reunions, and hopefully backstory explanations.

Aw man, this video made me think about the very real possibility that 'Oscar' might be gone, having fully combined with Ozma.
They did not feel the pressure that first time they rebuilt it. now they do. so I'm reasonably sure every resource, from across the lands, were brought to bear to provide adequate 'deterrent' for similar creatures. And if the work itself was not done at near fever pitch, I'm a footstool.

I get that the time skip is necessary, as you can't just organise an army, let alone the defences of a city in just a day. But I can't really see it being more than a year. Part of me feels like if I were Salem (and yes, she did summon Monstroe which must've taken a lot of time and grim energy to create, only to be destroyed by Oscar), I would at least to strike while the iron is hot. Especially with most of her war council/agents lost during the battle for Atlas. She's only got Tyrion and Mercury already there, but I'm sure they'll be targeted and caught eventually. What I do expect to see happen is all the common people recognising Ruby for her broadcast.

Im hoping thats its more of a 4-5 year time skip. Just imagine what possibe new confirmed ships would appear on screen and what i would be more excited for the "products" of said ships.
With the upgrade to the Coliseum my guess is pennys father have losing his daughter for the final time wanted to make sure salems forces specifically cinder he’s done playing nice and is probably not holding anything back against the enemy

I was thinking that maybe the amity battleship might have a cannon that is powered by the relic of destruction to counter whatever salem will make now that she has the relic of creation but who knows.

It's great to have a new theory vid after a bit! I do agree that there was probably a decently large time skip but given that Atlas had probably never attempted to upgrade Amity before the fall of Beacon, I think that sort of knowledge would make it easier a second time. Maybe not taking a full year, although the loss of dust and other technological resources would balance that out. I also presume it would take at least 6 months if not longer to actually move Amity from the remains of Atlas to Vacuo considering Amity doesn't have the best equipment or shape to move quickly. It would be under a lot of fire simply escaping and who knows how quickly Salem recovered from her defeat and whether it is possible that she used her knowledge of grimm goop to rebuild her forces with the staff she now has.
I wonder if Nora, Ren, Winter, Oscar etc...got any upgrades to their Weapons?

Something that i have NOT heard mentioned here; the Time Skip possibly working *against* RWBY.
They were MIA for a couple of days, save Jaune, but they are essentially at the same skill level they were at going into the Battle of Atlas.
To have a time skip of anymore than 18 months would potentially negate a sizable chunk of the power difference between RWBY and their peers.
My personal guess would be 10-18 months; as the enemy has no need to worry about deadlines, economies, or physical health of their fighting force, Battleship Amity would likely have been top priority with work ongoing 24/7 until completed.
Maybe they inspired their peers to rapidly progress in strength to nearly close that gap, but the phrase 'when needed most' also assures us RWBY will be very much still relevant and not struggling to play catch-up.
I do believe there is a timeskip but the only issue I have if there is a timeskip, let’s just say it’s been 1 or 2 years.
What have mercury and Tyrian been doing for that amount of time, they got a significant head start

So how Salem in those 1 or 2 years didn't take Vacuo & if it's in some months how they build that big canon in Arena + gathering Army from the rest in kingdoms & don't forget getting the Arena from the space how they did all of that in a few months

The changes to Amity Arena alone would suggest to me anywhere between 5 to 15 years have passed, just for the sheer construction time needed for that kind change.

I am definitely fascinated by the implications of the timeskip we're probably gonna have for Vol 10 as well, particularly with when it comes to Winter, Oscar, and just Vacuo as a whole. In any case, the wait for the next volume can't come sooner lol.
I think there won't be much of a time skip, I would say a few months, because I think the Ever Afters timeline may have followed the similar timeline as Narnia in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe ^^ I remembered watching the classic animated film from 1979 and I remember the scene where the Professor told Peter and Susan that no matter how long they stayed in Narnia it would not interfere with their timeline in the real world ^^ So from that logic I think everyone would still be their same age as in previous volumes ^^ Great video as always ^^

this a good theory to say the least, but I doubt it's been over a year or two, you were right on the 48 hours thing, but a year or two is putting it mildly, well I had a theory of my own for awhile, and my theory is, that Ruby and company had spent 48 hours and 2 days in the Ever After, where as in Remnant, 2 weeks, 13 days and 336 hours have passed while they were gone.
I personally think Amity is being carried by that battleship. I don't think they're one thing. Amity can no longer fly by itself so it was probably easier to put it on another ship that they already had ready. I still think the time skip is going to be about a year, but I don't think it will be any more than that.
Here's a theory for you.
The Arc's are rich, possibly so insanely rich that they don't like to advertise it. Like Warren Buffett not living in a mega mansion and getting McDonald's value meals for breakfast.
Today was looking at the Cotta-Arc house, as Argus is modelled after San Francisco and looking at house prices in there to similar looking buildings, the houses at low end $2,000,000 but the average seems to be around $6M to $9M.
Now Terra may be paid well but thinking the Arc family paid a big chunk for it and they just don't flash the cash around.
Irony would be when they try to rebuild the SDC they find out that the Arc's are major shareholders.
Given how the gun appears to be attached to Amity's side, I suspect it was made by just attaching an existing airship to Amity and building the gun inside it.

There's no way they've been gone for a whole year, if they were, Salem would have taken over already. It took Watts and Tyrian a couple of weeks to destabilize Atlas enough for Salem's arrival. If it took them an entire year in Vacuo then wtf were they even doing?
Nah, the timeskip will be a handful of months, I'd estimate 4-6 at most. Qrow and the Ace Ops would tell the Argus forces what happened on their way to Vacuo, which would mobilize them immediately. Argus could then send Mistral city the news, as well as redirecting anyone who came to Atlas' aid too late (let's be real here, that'll mostly be Menagerie). The folks in Vacuo would get the drift as soon as the sandstorm lifts and they see their suddenly doubled population sitting outside the city walls. That really only leaves Vale and Amity unaccounted for, and Vale would likely be getting a messenger airship within a couple days, sent from either Argus or Mistral.
And Amity isn't necessarily in the Solitas tundra, either. Their descent was inevitable but slow, and Pietro notably said they'd land "just north of-" before getting cut off. He could be just north of anywhere, technically, but the way he said it made it sound like their trajectory wasn't to the middle of nowhere. Hell, they could possibly be landing just north of Vacuo City itself, for all we know. I'd be willing to guess they're near enough to somewhere populated that they could probably get the repairs done within a couple of weeks, and as soon as that's in the sky again, the world communications would go back up and everything suddenly gets a lot easier. Amity doesn't need to get upgraded ASAP. They just need it in the sky to start with. From there, the coordinated communications of the 4 remaining world powers (Atlas gone but Argus and Menagerie should at least count as 0.5 each) I think would be capable of planning and organizing a defense rather quickly.
(And while that defense is being planned, I fully expect a lot of airship travel between kingdoms regardless, as supplies are shipped in and refugees are shipped out, to be scattered more evenly across the globe.)
So yeah, a few months, tops. Otherwise Tyrian and Mercury have been sitting on their asses, and the remaining world leaders have done too little with the time they had.

Of course this is all speculation and hope at this stage, because as far as I know Volume 10 has not been green lit yet. Hopefully we will find out about that from the upcoming RTX.
I wonder how Winter and the rest got out of the mess that season 8 landed them in. I also wonder if Ozpin has reawakened and contributed to what we see in Vacuo. Ironwood was not dead, so maybe he is still around in some capacity. Who is leading at this point? Do they have access to the summer maiden as well as Winter's winter maiden powers? Oooo, maybe Raven has returned!
I agree that a significant amount of time has passed, but I think they have enough levers that they can make it whatever they need to move the story forward, which is all I want.
Since I checked, and the relic at Vacuo is the relic of Destruction, I wonder if we could get some good conflicts around how and whether to use it against Salem.
I'm looking forward to the character dynamics and I volume 10 should focus on that as well as the time skip.
Yes, I think Vacuo will be amazing. I think it would have been at least two years because the airship production would need to be that long. Also Salem would need time to recover, as she would need to make a larger Monstra.

Honestly I see two years, maybe even 3. Simply figuring everything out, devising, and communicating a plan will take at least a year. Then factor another year to execute a move everyone and everything. You need to account for everybody being under constant fire from Salem's grimm armies through all of this. Additionally, 3 years puts Oscar the same age as Ruby, if they're going to do that ship. On another note, I can totally see Ren/Nora having a shotgun wedding shortly after they accepted all their other friends were dead, cuz life's too short and all that.
I think they RWBYJ might be gone for 5 or 10 months, one years, not many years. It might be too much of a big change of everyone got older. Also, I think Salem not going to wait around a long Period of time for the heroes to Come back?

I think Colosseum became more of a mobile headquarters. What I seen it's mostly two different ships One is the Colosseum must have been turned into a mobile Command centre and the ship near it must have a heavy Canon which can destroy a monster in seconds. I think maybe 10 months or 1 year. My thoughts and one thing I hate times skips.
I don't think Volume 10 will pick up from the "timeskip" I actually think Volume 10 will cover what happened from the end of Volume 8 on Remnant. Granted they have ALOT to cover (hopefully it's not a short volume). Also the Amity thing shows two outlines which makes me think the battle ship is separate from Amity, but time has definitely passed.
I could see like, the first episode or two covering what happened in Remnant during volume 9. But not the entire volume

Let's just say that jaune in the Ever After was completely alluded to Robert Neville from i am legend. For example. Jaune had been all alone for many years. And i'm pretty sure that team RWBY spent 2 nights in ever after was probably 2 hours in remnant. I'm pretty sure it was. When Cinder found out that Ruby Rose was still alive, she would cry like a baby and probably hear pyrrah's voice in her head. I know that Cinder had a lot of depression. Believe me.
I would have thought Menagerie was a Kingdom of its own, but I admit that it has no military at all, other than the White Fang, but that's more of a fringe group than a legit military.

I'll be honest, the first few times I watched ep 10.... I thought it was 2 different ships (1 being Amity, and 1 being a new battleship). It took about the 5th or 6th viewing to realize it was one ship haha.
