Surfing and snowboarding complement each other very well. There are times when you can get even cheaper lift tickets. Sometimes it's actually a season pass to a single mountain or a collective that makes it pretty reasonable even if you're just flying in on vacation. Example: Many Australians pick up an Epic Pass, etc. and the pass pays for itself in within 5 days of riding. Just an FYI for those not familiar.
from your title I kind of thought that you broke some weird rule and got your camera confiscated. glad to hear/see that someone found and returned your camera. As for the video it was interesting to watch the process you had to go through just to gear up.

Yeah Chris! LOVE that you're doing what you want with your shows, that's what gets you most stoked & sharing that Stoke is a big part of why people love the shows. How's that Chick returning the GoPro... LEGEND! just got back from my first ever trip to Hawaii, the surf on the north shore was pumping which was mostly scary & intimidating but also so cool to surf such amazing waves & watch the pros take on pipe & backdoor. The biggest focus when over there is definitely on the survival stuff, where am I going to stay? where should I eat? where will the waves not crush me, leaving me in a wheelchair? So I think that "Change The Forecast" covers these issues is awesome looking forward to the next show. By the way any thoughts on DHD's new creation?
I've been wanting to snowboard for so long but my parents won't let me go (I'm 15) because I'm the only one that likes boardsports. Anyway, this video might actually make my parents be able to let me try it out. Also, I really like the videography. Reminds me of the Wes Anderson film Moonrise Kingdom with the way that you stand in front of what your talking about and face the camera the whole time. Very cool stuff man!
Dude, wicked lucky on the go Pro. Utah snowboarding rules, backpacking there is pretty rad too. I prefer the surfing videos though, it's not often that we get to Travel to different countries and surf awesome waves. I think it's a little bit easier to stay within the continental United States and go to a premier ski resort than it is to find a sweet barrel in Nicaragua or Costa Rica

Dude yes, loved the video! Snowboarding and surfing are my passion... well woodworking as well. Either way, living on Long Island I am fortunately able to drive a few hours and shred the mountains or throw a winter suit on and shred the beach.
I lost a gopro snowboarding also, but the reason makes me SO MAD. I had it on a little selfi stick about a half foot long, and DUMB *** me, thinks its a smart idea to just put it in my pocket, * it also was poking out *,,, I kept crashing into the forest and stuff and lost it somewhere in the snow... I loved that indistructable GoPro session.
Did your show get hijacked by your evil twin brother. Love the snow but moved to Aus from Europe and like the using a board all year round with out the expense of travelling around following the seasons. Keep entertaining. Your a lucky man.
That's cool, but i afree with other - more intersted in surfing. Do you skate? maybe that topic might be interisting also, a special now when market is fiiled with surfskates of different kinds.
Overall these " Change the Forecast" shows are great. It was really cool that you did something different as well. I know for myself it is easy to get wrapped up in what the ocean has to offer, and forget everything else that makes travel in general awesome-so thanks! I am curious about two things: 1. was it hard to pick a snowboarding trip over a surf trip? If I have time and money, it is always surfing mostly because as you pointed out-snowboarding is really expensive. 2. How would you say the price compared for a trip to Utah/Colorado as opposed to Nica or CR?

Killing the review game. I have lived in Utah for 8 yrs, great review. Red Iguana, awesome, maybe too authentic for some. Brighton, a little small, but sick. If you want to test yourself on a mtn (and spend 20 bucks more on a ticket) I would go to Snow Bird or Alta. ski/snowboard gear is stupid expensive

Watched it, enjoyed it. I live in Australia, however it seem that all over the world surfers like snowboarding and vice versa. When i saw that you were doing a snowboarding episode, i was hoping that you (or a guest) would review some powsurfers. The snowboards that are made to feel like your surfing. Although I've been a snowboarder and a surfer for a couple of decades now, I've always wondered what it would be like to "surf" in powder. Keep up the good work, we love shred show here in Southern Victoria!

Not impressed with the new episode of shred show. Stick with surfing, surf trips and surfboard design concepts. Everyone knows snowboarding is more expensive than surfing because all that's needed to surf are waves which are free. Explaining what a lift is and what snowboarding 'gear does' (I'll give you a hint, it keeps you warm) seems pretty basic to me. You provide a level of surfboard understanding and explanation that is currently unmatched. I bet there's a million videos reviewing ski resorts and snowboard gear tho. Get back to basics brah, we live in a golden age of surfboard design so the material and content is out there. And if you like plan one surf trip to the big island let me know brah. Mahalos for listening.
Video was great! Almost wish you would have done something more like this on your Costa Rica trip. Would be funny to have video of maybe some arguing with airline people about cost of flying with a board being $200 and flying with a snowboard or a set of golf clubs is free. Just a thought. You could easily start doing more travel videos and get those paid for.

What size was the SD card you were using on the go pro because it must be insanely big! Hell yeah man, I love how your keeping it fresh with the show topics! Nice timing too, as I will "kind of" be in you're neck of the woods, boarding @ Lake Tahoe next week. I also tried to mount a go pro to my snowboard a few seasons back and had the exact same thing happen (minus the return to lost and found) and its gone forever! It will be great to be on the west coast soon as there hasn't really been crap this winter in the south east (waves or snow)
Looks like you had fun. Glad to see that you've found a way to take the 'job' out of your work. If I were in your shoes I may have wanted to have a companion, but probably not. I wonder if libtech was hoping you would talk more about their product when they gave you that board.
This video was pretty good, you need to bring some people with you on these journeys and get into local craziness! i.e. you probably wouldnt snowboard down a roof or lodge staircase but if your friends were there they could probably convince you to get a little weird. Next video your first tabletop or handrail!
The travel vids are just as cool as the surfboard synopsises. I dont think thats a word. Keep up that smooth editing style, makes it addicting to watch.

Hell yeah man, I love how your keeping it fresh with the show topics! Nice timing too, as I will "kind of" be in you're neck of the woods, boarding @ Lake Tahoe next week. I also tried to mount a go pro to my snowboard a few seasons back and had the exact same thing happen (minus the return to lost and found) and its gone forever! It will be great to be on the west coast soon as there hasn't really been crap this winter in the south east (waves or snow)
Looks like you had fun. Glad to see that you've found a way to take the 'job' out of your work. If I were in your shoes I may have wanted to have a companion, but probably not. I wonder if libtech was hoping you would talk more about their product when they gave you that board.
This video was pretty good, you need to bring some people with you on these journeys and get into local craziness! i.e. you probably wouldnt snowboard down a roof or lodge staircase but if your friends were there they could probably convince you to get a little weird. Next video your first tabletop or handrail!
The travel vids are just as cool as the surfboard synopsises. I dont think thats a word. Keep up that smooth editing style, makes it addicting to watch.
