Dennis Varni has amassed more than seventy vehicles of all types, along with a vast collection of historic and arcane auto memorabilia, emblems, neon signage, publications, artwork, photos, tools, vintage gas pumps and thousands of mementos, from St. Christopher medals to antique oilcans. Some of these items are located at Speed Nymph Garage.
Today, Dennis Varni's Speed Nymph Garage and collection of rare and exotic vehicles is a veritable hot rod museum of classic American and foreign roadsters, muscle cars, street rods, trucks, buses, sedans, and coupes, not to mention thirteen historic motorcycles.

As a hot rodder the name of Dennis Varni is well known to me. But a glimpse of his collection, and seeing the 'human side' of Mr. Varni is a real treat! (oh, and those hooks on the side of the grill? They look like the ones used to suspend mail sacks when the mail is getting separated at the post office!)
Pretty disgusting when u think of families in africa who cant put food in their childrens mouths. Just saying.
maybe start yourself a
charity & feed/clothe those children
as an example to all
JC Whitney Catalog❤️
I built some gaudy imaginary cars as a kid in the 70s, catalog and calculator in hand😎
Great to be able to see and hear Mr.Varni after reading Gray Baskervilles articles on him in Hot Rod magazine through the years, he has quite the sense of humour (:
You really need to get a better cameraman.
OMG, came here to say this. Almost unwatchable.
Yes. I love all the Petersen videos, but this one disappointed. Show the cars, I'll listen to Dennis.
I love this guy! He’s kind of crazy, but a lot of fun and enjoys life for what it is.
Love the signs!
Well that was just fantastic ..what a wonderful eclectic collection .. and so very much in the spirit of the Petersen with the 'hot rod' feeling many of the vehicles have, including the 454 engined Yellowstone 🚌 !!! Just had to use that emoji as it actually almost looks like the bus in question !!! (😂) I'm guessing there may be a Part Two, as I know Dennis has, or has had, some other fantastic cars, including a beautiful Miura S he bought back in 1979 featured on Petrolicious, and a sublime Graber bodied Alfa he's shown at Pebble Beach. Thanks so much for this Dennis (and your video crew), all the cars' builders and collaborators, and, as always, everyone at The Petersen Museum .. infinite 🌟 s !!! Take care everybody, and see you all at the next Petersen Monterey Car Week event .. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 ... 😃
I've been 70 mph as a baby in the backseat of my Dad's 1951 Hudson across the California Desert due to a recap tire blowing. We did not flip over.
Awesome garage! But the cameraman made me seasick..
What an incredible collection of speed and his stories. What a treasure to have captured on film. God Bless.
Very very nice speaking with you, I absolutely love your collection.
I'm glad to see this collection but good Lord that camera work was atrocious.
Whoever came up with the concept & execution for this series is my hero
This was just a glimpse of his collections . Wish the Miura or the 300 sl was included in the video
Awesome place, love the random nature of the collection.
I enjoy you showing & telling about your collection Dennis. You made the video very entertaining with your unique collection and stories.
I'll be looking for Dennis at Lupin Lodge!
Day 2 !!! Looking .. GOOD !!! I spy, with my little eye, among others, a lovely yellow 105 Series Alfa, a beautiful blue Giulietta, AND a gorgeous 70's Husqvarna, hiding behind the blue Alfa !!! See you all soon everybody !!! 😃
Skipping the blue Guilietta sprint Speciale was a tear jerker
@@alexmartinez280 Hi Alex, Dennis has a lot more interesting cars. Many of these Petersen tours have two parts, so I'm hoping there's a part two coming up where they'll feature these other cars and hopefully his blue Giulietta too. And if there isn't a part two yet, maybe there could be .. hint, hint Dennis, and the Petersen! Interestingly too, though it doesn't say that much about it here, Dennis is (or has been) a world record holder on the salt flats .. over 300 mph! Craaaaazy! I've seen two cars go over 300 mph, side by side, at the drag strip, getting there in a shade over 1000 feet and in a little over 3.7 seconds! Another world! Here's hoping we get to see more on the blue Giulietta! 😃
The Alfa GTA is my standout, I wish he didn’t skip over that beautiful blue Alfa under the GTA!!! Looked like a Sprint Speciale
IKR, that GTA!!!
Great pleasure meeting Dennis today!
Great sense of humor, thanks!
What an awesome tour.....ruined by a inexperienced cameraman!
Thanks for taking us on the tour!
Very cool cars and bikes. Also the art made from car parts, too cool. Thanks for the video, your a true hot rodder!
Great collection, kind host. Camera-person... there's room for improvement:)
I have been a fan of Mr Varni's cars for a while now!!! First time I've ever seen an interview with him, love the back story's, Mr Varni you have outstanding taste thank you for sharing your amazing collection!!!! A tip of the hat to you Sir🎩
Oh man!! That guy has fun!!
What a fantastic collection and great stories. Dennis is a real artist and a great storyteller with a fantastic collection of historic cars and fun stories. I can't decide if the Fiat Multipla, the 265 mph Belly Tank, or the Ming the Merciless trailer is my favorite part. Pity we only saw bits and pieces of it thanks to poor camera work. At least we got to look around at the cool neon and memorabilia on the walls.
Forget about Dick Clark...he’s the worlds oldest teenager
Talk about eclectic! Incredible
That Yellowstone bus!! Wow
This is soooo cool!
Wonderful!
What a cool collection. Dennis seems like a very cool fellow.
My mouth open the whole time totally amazed. So thirsty now! Ha cheers! 🍻 thanks for these! Takes us away if you know what I mean...
Um, camera man....... WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dont know much about cars, motors or race history but really like these cars film.
Beautiful cars and interesting storys
Fantastic..😎🇬🇧🇺🇸🚙
I love this channel being a life long Gearhead and Hot Rodder! And I don't like leaving negative comments but your camera man is absolutely horrible!!! Please, please, please find a much better camera man! It really spoils the incredible content that you have when you use a horrible camera man that doesn't have a clue how to get properly frame a shot and get good angles.
Grinds my gears when gazzillionaires won't spend a few bucks to hire a competent cameraman to follow them around what is a most impressive collection, and actually show us what the host is talking about in real time without making us all seasick.
I agree about the camera and this millionaire asking for a cheaper hotel rate when those roadside businesses could use the income support. I don’t understand that.
the cameraman really should not do any form of filming or video recoring at all... great collections, amazing.
awesome place..poopy camera work
I am quite impressed... cameramen should be more focused 😂
🏆 World's Worst Camera Operator
God this man is cool.
Did someone call in sick and you got a drunk from the local day labor to hold the camera?
Sir I only have one question can I please have one just one and since i'm dying of cancer you will get it back in less than a year and I promise to take real good care of it ok.
… Amazing “junk” 😂
In my garage a 2021 hatchback civic700 mil. Lol
No Porsche... I can't believe :(
yes a new camera guy for sure, show the car not dennis.
M
Beautiful cars , fantastic colourful memorabilia, great stories...and terrible camera work...
A wonderful, eclectic collection, much like it’s host. But what happened to your usually high quality video? Please don’t send this camera operator out on any more of these.
Is the camera man drunk?
adopt me!
You’re better off just listening to this and not watching it. The camera was all over the place and looking at everything and nothing at the same time.
You better find decent cameraman...
To bad this could have been an interesting video.
BE CAREFUL IN MONGOLIA .....there are people there with the bubonic plague .... this is not a joke ,.... be safe ... check it out !!!
The camera man, makes this unwatchable.
I had to stop watching at 4:23 the camera work is just awful brah 👎
Camera man is awful
This is soooo cool!
