Common bruh can’t be comparing a heavy to a 320,the BUUUUUS is the best plane in the world !
Haha, 1 point for da BUS!
You can't compare the space in the a320 with a 767, one's a widebody one isn't
If you compare an A320 with a 737, you’d get the same result
@@MontclairBoontonLineRailfan true, but still
@@MontclairBoontonLineRailfanNo you wouldn’t. The B737 cockpit is much more cramped and less comfortable
Using computer analogies:
Boeing = PC
Airbus = Mac
I like it!
I suspect 787s and to some extent the 777s might give you a closer experience to what AIrbus provides ...because they're also fly-by-wire / computer controlled aircraft.
Agree, I think that’s a fair statement. But they still wouldn’t have a sidestick 😁
AIRBUS is safer and more reliable and also comforts 🥰
I definitely enjoy your videos. Really like the Airbus/ Boeing comparison. Be great to compare Boeings newer products like 787 verses A350.
Thanks Kevin!
Hopefully one day I get a chance to fly both and can do a comparison hah!
What an awesome video . As a huge Airbus fan with lots of SIM time I agree with everything you said up there. I also used to fly the MD80 in the SIM (another huge favorite of mine ) .. it takes me normally less than 10mins from cold and dark to being ready for push in the 'bus as opposed to something like 35mins the MD80.. LOL.. the only head scratcher in the design of the Airbus is the lack of an automatic descent logic at TOD.. I am guessing they don't want pilots to bust ATC instructions by mistake and allow the airplane to descend when it was not supposed to.. love your content Pete.. keep crankin' em out.. Thanks - PS highly highly recommend the tour of the Airbus factory in Mobile.
I was a fan of the maddog myself when I flew it back in the day. And couldn’t agree with you more on the AB no TOD on its own. But there is a little trick that I leaned that you can actually get it to descend on its own at the TOD, it’s def a workaround, but it does work!
Thanks, appreciate it!
And def will check it out next time I’m in Mobile!
So to resume Boeing is like Toyota and airbus is like a Mercedes
Haha something like that!
How would you feel about flying a newer Boeing like the 787 and 777X, given Boeing's current reputation? The 737 MAX has a different cockpit yhan 787/777x (per grandfather rule), but the 787/777x should have a similar cockpit to each other.
I wouldn’t definitely wouldn’t say no! But until Boeing gets rid of their boat wheel and adds a tray table, I’d prefer Airbus!
All 737s are 'old school' manual kind of aircraft with cables and pulleys along the airframe, Max included.
The 787 and 777 are modern fly-by-wire computer operated machines. Meaning, the only thing in common is the company that manufactures them. Despite the yoke, I believe both the 787 and 777 will provide a closer experience to what we find in Airbus.
U think the A320 flight deck is small....try going into 737
The 737 is the worst flight deck in the industry, not including RJ’s, in my opinion
When it comes to the control interface, I beg to differ. If Airbus had used a wheel instead of a joystick, the Rio-Paris crash might have been prevented! The pilot in command was unconsciously pulling the joystick with his right hand the entire time due to stress, while the other two pilots had no idea why the airplane was stalling.
Hi Pete!
I’m so glad I came across your channel. I start flight training in April and your videos have been extremely helpful and also just so motivating. Keep up the great videos!!
Thanks for watching Sierra! Awesome, best of luck with training, enjoy the ride!
You compare a narrow body cockpit space to a wide body. You really reaching there
Certainly going to be different you're not wrong!
Great video. This is very informative for a passenger as myself often wondering about the pilots and their perspectives of these magnificent machines.
"build by geniuses, to be flown by idiots.." 😂
Haha that’s what they tell me at least !
In reality, that just means Airbus are more human error proof.
Why don't they connect the joysticks on the Airbus planes of the Captain and Co-pilot will know each other inputs. Seems so of the accidents (Airfrance) would not of happened, Not an issue in Boeing as the yokes are connected. .
Very good video,I learned a lot,I still like my Boeing airplane best.I hope you are doing great and can't wait to see another one from you take care!
Thanks Steve!
Please call em Sidesticks, not "Joysticks" . Joysticks dont exist in aviation...
great great video once again ! each time I learn a lot of things with you. Many thanks, can't wait for the next one !! 🙂
Thanks Eric, appreciate it as always!
Comments about Boeing reliability have not aged well.
Hi Pete!
I am a current high school teacher switching careers to become a commercial airline pilot. However, I am 6ft 8in. tall. Would I still be able to be a pilot? Thank you for the channel!
Hey Matthew, absolutely! At first flying in the small general aviation aircraft like the c150 or 172 might be tight, but you’ll figure it out. I’m 6’4 and had no problem, what’s another 4inches!
Software updates = on any machine, aircraft included, means two things: improvement on the machine you already have ...room for future improvement. ...that's definitely a point for Airbus.
+1 AB!
Airbus ❤
Bro I'm glad the algorithm finally got me in touch with you. I like your style and vibe. Totally into flying and trying to get my license once I can afford to but you give me hope that real guys actually fly lol. Totally buy ya a beer and talk shit about planes anytime ya fly close to KHSV. Cheers 🍻
Thanks, thanks for watching!
Haha you got a deal!
Mon Dieu, Sweet Pea, Airbus pour la victoire! Airbus for life!
Haha couldn’t agree more CB!
Not me watching this after the 737 Max debacle and hearing him say "Boeing doesn't have a lot of issues"
Indeed...
Question, if you’re flying the 767 currently as an FO than why are you wearing captain stripes? I know you’ve been a captain before but…. 😂
Yep, just my old uniform
A320 and 75/76 rated. What was your path to FedEx?
CFI, corporate pilot, major airline, legacy airline, cargo legacy airline
Don’t forget about the amazing PTU noise airbus makes. So satisfying and look forward to it every time I’m on an airbus!
Haha yeah that is definitely a strange noise, it reminds me of saw cutting noise. I know some people say it sounds like dog barking to them, but I guess my dog just never barks!
Can you explain the airline schedule and what the travel bank is and how that kind of stuff works in a video?
Yep, working on a schedule video soon
Great video love the thought process between Boeing and Airbus. Currently working on my cfi and in my free time I do like messing around on flight sims. Airbus planes for flight sim wise are always more fun to fly as it’s more programming the computer and not flying which is great in home flight sim physics are generally not good.
Awesome, best of luck with your CFI!
I think AB is more fun in real life too!
Call me old school, but not a big fan of fly by wire.
I hear ya, I personally don’t mind it, but I get ya
Totally agree. Airbus ahead of the curve with fly-by-wire and they’re just more intuitive. If it’s Boeing, I’m not going.
Haha I’m with you there!
I totally agree with you, but I must add Boeing was developing fly by wire systems for the Space Shuttle and military applications at the same time (or maybe even earlier than Airbus). It's a shame they took so much time to apply that knowledge into commercial aviation ...and of course, a shame all the decisions taken along the way of keeping and stretching the life of the 737 model.
By re-engine an old aircraft that is already computer operated (like the A320 & A330 families) ...we can fix almost everything by software alone and of course, where there's no fuss to use state of the art computers to replace the old ones. Hard is the opposite, finding old parts to fix old machines.
I m with gulfstream 😂😂
Never flown one, flown on one before though, and it was a dream!
Call me crazy or old school again but I prefer that you actually have to make adjustments to the Boeing on descents, I feel like too much automation (especially when it runs so smoothly) kinda dulls piloting skills. I don't know but that is just my thinking.
I’m Airbus all day! I love new technology that enhances the experience
@@pilotpetefly for sure! I geek out on MentourPilot and his accident videos, and there are a few where “issues” with fly by wire became an “issue” it just doesn’t sit right with me. Lending itself to our general over reliance on automation which is a wholeee other conversation but then, I’m a student pilot and a nobody. What do I know 😺. Thanks for replying anyway.
@@sirgalalot88 And all those issues related to Airbus FBW. Boeing FBW is different. And you can have automation dependency on non FBW aircraft and has happened before.
Hello Pete, amazing video but I had a quick question. So right now I am currently in college and trying to become an airline pilot. I was just wondering does it matter which bachelors degree I earn? Would it be better to get an aviation related degree rather than something like a business degree?
Thanks Kevin!
It does not matter which degree you get, at all. I can’t stress that enough. In fact, it would almost be better to have a different degree like business.
1. It will set you apart from other applicants that all have aviation degrees. 2. If for whatever reason flying doesn’t work out, having a degree you can use in real life will be more beneficial for you!
@@pilotpetefly Sounds good, thank you!
A320 is awesome! Great video!
Thanks Joshua!
Hi! Did you get a college degree before flight school? If so, what did you study? Love your videos!
I got my degree while in flight school. I want to Arizona state university and got my bachelors in Aviation while taking flight training there simultaneously.
Thanks so much for watching!
Any opinions from other pilots on the 737MAX?? Thanks, really enjoying your content as I navigate through my aviation journey.
Never flown it, but no issues getting onboard. The Netflix doc was very eye opening tho and concerning just the power big corporate America has…
So BOEING is more rugged and reliable. That's all I need to know.
As we know since, nah, isn't; and you need to k now a lot more.
Plane is plane.
Great video mate 🔥. We need more if these videos 👍
Thanks Keith, appreciate it!
So, two more aspects for comparison: System Redundancy and checklist methods: booklet versus display! Did I forget to mention the number of switches and buttons for flap settings and AP ? Looks like Boeing has twice as many switches and buttons for some controls...
747-400/-8, 757/767 typed. Never had a desire to fly Le Airbus.
Would love the fly the 74! But I have to say, you’re missing out William, AB=best 😉
For me, it's the pointy nose of a 737 that seals the deal.
1 point Boeing!
Wondering, because the debate continues, how you feel about the FMC/CDU useability on both. I've never flown an Airbus and briefly flew as a Boeing crew in the late 70's before CDU's and modern autopilot's and autothrottles. I was an S.O. on 72's for a year and became a software analyst in flight planning. So all of my PIC time now is on the sim. On the Airbus, once the flight plan is completely correctly loaded, the airplane does fine. Amending the plan once your in flight seems very odd, compared to Boeing as to Alt and A/S and waypoint changes.
I have the opposite issue with VNAV, the Boeing 737 RULES over the Airbus (which doesn't have true VNAV built in) like the 737. I have no experience with the 767. I do think the Auto-land in the Airbus A32X is superior to the B737. Airbus is far more automated than the Boeing 737, but when it comes to pure flying I'm a B737 fan first.
You get to pick one, you going Boeing or AB rest of career?
@@pilotpetefly I'm like you, I would love the fly the AB350.
Just too many Pilot Peters on RUclips..
Agreed
No HUD for auto land on the bus! Less components!
Facts!
the airbus flight stick is quit similar to the cirrus sr22/sr22t
Definitely similar looking, but works a little bit different
Respect your opinion, but I am still "If it ain't boeing, I ain't going" kind of person haha!
Another point Boeing!
That's an old saying, Boeing today is not like what it was in the 70s and before
Dang it I love hearing the truth
My opinion at least haha!
Keep up the good work... ŕeally great listening to your stuffs
Thanks Zothan!
if it aint boeing i aint going. Awesome vid
1 point Boeing! Thanks Shemar!
If it's a Boeing, I ain't going!
@@Taoweiji point AB!
Airbussssssssss! 🙌✈️
Point AB!
757 period!
not a bad pick!
I've heard it said about the planes design that Boeing assumes the pilots are infallible and Airbus treats the pilots like they're a liability.
And I spoke with some mechanics once. They said that Boeing is more expensive to buy and cheaper to maintain, while Airbus is cheaper to buy and more expensive to maintain.
Very well may be true. All I know is airbus flies the profile it’s designed. Flew the B767 yesterday, can’t hold speed for the life of it! I’m a bus guy!
@@pilotpetefly
A pilots experience is certainly different than a passenger, but I fly a lot and it's always short domestic flights so I'm on a 737 or an A320. Without looking at the flight details or the safety card, you wouldn't know which plane you are on. From a passenger perspective they are basically identical. Noise level, seat width, seat comfort, everything.
I take the side of Boeing in the great plane debate but I'm from Washington state.
Awesome Pilot
Appreciate it!
Airbus 🐐
Agreed!
Where do you get the prints on the wall behind you?
They were a gift. Hoping to have them available for sale soon.
@@pilotpetefly shucks
@@mattlantzy5093 what airport you interested in?
@pilotpetefly all of them. 🤣. Specifically LAN and SRQ, with one or two others.
@@mattlantzy5093 cool! Hoping to have them soon!
Awesome video. Love the engagement you're getting! Keep it up.
Thanks T-money!
As a passenger I lean toward Boeing products for the same reason you stated. They just feel more solid and well-built. I know some Airbus products have the odd bouncing on landing that Boeing aircraft do not have to that degree. Plus, I like the sound and feel of the reverse thrust on Boeing, compared with Airbus.
Haha I tend to bounce both Airbus and Boeing on my landings 😬😂
@@pilotpetefly 😆🤣
Wtf man, especially when we are talking about the build quality Airbus blows off Boeing. It's like comparing a Mercedes and a Ford. I know you are an American, but come on
WHAT!? Admittedly I am not at all a frequent flyer, but all the AIrbus planes I have flown on were in a better shape than all the Boeing planes.
Hi! I like the framed airport charts you have hanging on your wall. It gave me the idea of making one as a present for a friend. Is it a special type of chart, or what do i have to search for to find one of my local airport? Bergen Airport Flesland in Norway. BGO/ENBR
Hey Vegard! I make and sell them on my website. It’s currently “under construction” while I fix a few things, but will post in my bio when it’s back up and running!
