Record sales top 100M, including five #1 albums and 11 #1 singles.
If you are a fan of Chicago, I strongly urge you to see them, they put on one hell of a show. When their music is wrapped around you live, you will understand.
Chicago as a group has meant more to me than they will ever know!
WOW…tugged at the heart. Saw these guys in ‘69 and ‘70, and again recently. What a ride! Thanks for the inspiration!!
Think they helped me after Kennedy was shot, the 60’s were a rough time being a 14 yr old, let alone the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s!
Chicago has been one of the best rock bands ever.
Thanks for the musical memories and talents, Chicago, the epitome of Americana rock and roll through the ages.
Thank you for 55 years of incredible music that has enhanced and touched my life beyond measure. God bless you all.
Thank you guys 😊 I miss the 70"s.
One of the first 45s I bought was 25 or 6 to 4 when I was about 11 years old. My brother got Chicago at Carnegie Hall so I could tell these guys were very talented. Chicago has always been one of my favorite groups through the changes, the ups and downs, the highs and lows. Thank you Chicago for being such a big part of my life. ❤️
Going to miss you..the memories will continue to live on. In 1970 while playing in a band, our group challenged other bands to open up the show for for Issac Hayes..We won the talent competition and played one of your songs during the concert..In retrospect, it was a grand moment for me to play with the fellows as an impressionable young girl..I was so proud to perform "Does anybody really know what time it is" which is quite fitting of the world's issue of today..We were so proud as your masterpieces left an indelible insight in our spirits..Thank you, Thank you, Thank you...you're a were blessing to all musicians🏆.
They not leaveing
I love the Band Chicago. I've listened to them since the 70s. They play my favorite songs. This song is wonderful.
I am Mexican and I really like Chicago. Cheers
the old chicago sound is back.
Loved it at Jones beach
I cannot remember a time in my life when I haven’t listened to Chicago. Their music is amazing, and it only gets better. I became a lifelong trumpet player after listening to Lee as a kid. Seeing them in concert is a truly incredible event! This song makes me realize they can’t go on forever, but thank you for a lifetime of music I’ll listen to the rest of my life. Cheers to Jimmy, Robert and Lee.

Totally agree with you. Chicago is the only band I have listened to for years and years and they just keep on getting better and better ❤️
My dad introcuded me to chicago when I was 5 years old -- at least that's when I first remember consciously listening to them -- since then, they've been absolutely integral to my music taste. I remember my dad pointing out all the different instruments individually, having me really listen to the bass or the drums or the horns. I fell in love with the brass, the bluesy rock, and so much more. Much love Chicago, certainly a timeless band.
The classic Chicago sound comes through and takes a song with a melancholy title and makes it sound upbeat. Hopefully it will not be goodbye for the band Chicago for a very long time. Chicago is 55 years old as a band and has changed styles with the times and this one seems to fit the present era.
Chicago might have a new hit here. It is a wonderful harmony.
Exactly what I felt when I first heard this song, a melancholy title but the song sounds upbeat. Chicago is really an amazing band ! I was so happy to get their new album 😀.
"If this is Goodbye " was in the top 20 AC chart in July, 2022.
@@leafl75 The song "If This Is Goodbye" does have some of the old Chocago sound. They have preserved and updated that. That is my impression.
@@jasonburger3533 Definitely. Most of the songs on the album have some of their 70s and 80s sounds but with a modern touch making them sound current. And that's awesome! "Someone needed me the most " for example, reminds me of "You're The Inspiration " except it has a lot of freshness in it. Actually "Born For This Moment" is an excellent ,very well done album!
Chicago will never be gone in my heart.❤ I have loved them since 69 when I was 11 years old. Many of their songs have meant so much to me i will never say goodbye to listening to them.
These are my guys and my band. I have seen them 5 times and that is way too few. I was there from the beginning. The players have changed through the years. Yes I wish the original 7 could have stayed together. Triumph, tragedy, bitterness, ups, downs, ups again all intertwined. Several things stayed the same...Robert, Lee, Jimmy...the 55 years of touring and the incredible energy these guys brought to every show. You never felt cheated after a concert. If this is goodbye...I cannot thank you for the joy and happiness you brought to me all these years....Here's a toast to you.
First concert was at Riverbend in Cincinnati 2008. Beautiful summer night with a full moon in the sky. I had my storage unit broken into the night before and thought about not going, but so glad I did. They were still playing at 11:30 when I had to leave for a three hour road trip home. Robert was singing and the moon was glowing...as I turned towards home.
The Trumpet, The Trombone, The Sax… etc, etc, etc… a REAL ‘’BAND’… only ‘Chicago’.. Another Very Beautiful (Hit) Song.
Pure (Classic) Perfection!
best band ever
Thank you.. thank you for all the times your music made the clouds fade away, the happy memories of being on the road with my dad. All the best wishes to all of you and bless the ones who are not there anymore. You guys, are all legends. Love from The Netherlands.
Old Days......
They sounded even better at the concerts! In Detroit!
Started listening to them, when I was 16, still listening to them even at the age of almost 74! It’s been a wonderful tide, thanks Guy’s (to Chicago, good luck in everything you guys might go thru?!!!!
(MEM)
Or at the Toledo Zoo!
Love, (MEM)
Love this song. I hope it’s not goodbye for the original three left. I have every Chicago album. Have loved them since I was in high school. Took my girls to Chicago concerts since they were little. I’m a Southside Chicago girl. No better band than Chicago.
Life long Chicago fan here. I did not want to like this single but I really really do. Beautiful video.
Simply Thank You 🙏 Guys❣️.
Love this band. Love this song. If indeed u r on the way out, thank you for sharing your musical gifts over the years.
So awesome! Chicago is back. Can’t wait for the whole album
Doesn't matter what Chicago creates & releases, it's ALL good. This is a band that has adapted & whose shelf life knows no end. Longtime fan of the band, I wondered if this track may, in part, have been written in tribute of Walt (Parazaider), one of the founders & longtime saxaphonist of Chicago whose been stricken down by the horrible disease of Alzheimer's. Chicago is never Chicago without the horns (eg. CHICAGO 19). I never tire of hearing the trademark crescendo horn lines -- then those Pankow triplets: makes one smile. Golden Years for Chicago!! As if this band has to cement its history. All gravy from here -- LOVE Chicago music forever!
I didn't know that about Walt. I'm sick over it. I'm praying 🙏 for you. Your the best.
19 had horns, just not as many. "What Kind of Man Would I Be" possibly had Pankow's best Trombone solo ever on it.
Thank you Chicago for inspiring all of us to become band members. James Pankow is why I played trombone in the high school band and marched in all of those football games. Also thank you for the pick Robert Lam in Asheville you all are the greatest!
Thank you!! You are my favorite band and I've seen you many many times live. Shook hands with you all. Love you guys.❤
This is a hit wish they played it on radio bc it’s definitely better than everything on there today thank you for 55 years of hit after hit there will never be another band like Chicago I’m so happy I was on this amazing roller coaster of y’all’s
I grew up with CHICAGO... every album is a soundtrack to a particular time in my life. The "classic period" (for me, albums 1 - 11) is my favorite. Chicago 16 and 17, and Stone of Sisyphus are pretty special, too, Thank you Jimmy, Lee, Robert, Walt, Terry, Peter, Danny, and all the band members who have come and gone over the years. Danny shared his story in Street Player,,, I hope the other founding members will tell their stories, too. The music will always live on!
My mom introduced me to Chicago when I was super young. I've always been into music, but Chicago lit the spark. So for that, I thank you Chicago, you've changed me for the better.
Me too dude
Even as a gen z-er, I agree. Been loving this band since late high school.

😊
Parting is such sweet sorrow. Thank you.
Almost 60 years. Incredible run.
Love this song Been listening to Chicago since 1969/1970 My 1st dance with my husband of 44 years was to Colour My World This group holds a special place in my heart
That's beautiful. I hope i can get to 40 plus let alone 55 years.
This song is contagious. A perfect tune to perform as a concert encore just before 25 or 6 to 4.
The biggest hearts in music, hands down...
I can tell by this video this will probably be your last album. Thanks for the memories and goodbye.
Fantastic
As a person who didn't listen to Chicago for years, this is amazing!
I've seen this band in concert so many times...the first concert I ever attended was at Florida Field (The Swamp!) in Gainesville. Terry Kath had a bottle of Jack Daniels behind him, the rest of the band had galvanized trash cans full of ice and Michelob, on a hot summer day. Heard their music for the first time at the age 12 and decided then and there that I would be a career musician. Every time I attend a concert...as in about two weeks ago at Red Rocks...I see with joy two, three, and four generations of the same family at the same concert, loving the music old AND new! These guys are the epitome of creativity, style, and quality in all of pop music. They influenced me in ways I can never fully articulate, and my son loves their music as much as I. Nearly 50 years after that first concert in The Swamp, I'm still devoting my career to preparing future music educators to literally save this country through music, tolerance, and love of what makes life so sacred and special. If you made it this far in this rant, God bless you, and here's to another 55 years of Chicago!!
Great job guys! Looking forward to Born for This Moment!
Love love love this song ❣️❣️❣️. It’s a forever hit ♥️ 🎈congratulations 🎈 ❣️❣️❣️
America's band!!
You guys keep adding to the soundtrack of our life! From the moment I first laid eyes and ears on "Chicago Transit Authority" in a small town five and dime shop as a young teen, to listening to your latest with tear filled eyes in my latter time, you have always added joy and happiness to my heart! My wife and I will be celebrating 50 yrs. of marriage this August, and you have been with us every step of the way! Your latest work proves Walt's statement at your Hall of Fame Induction, "ya ain't seen nothing yet!" Thank you!!!!😍😍
I heard this on the way out of a McDonalds of all places... and literally pulled my phone out in the moment to punch the lyrics in to see who it was and when Chicago came up I was like "It can't be them" but then on a re-listen I was like "of course it's them." If this is a swan song, then its pretty bittersweet and a little heartbreaking tbh. My dad used to blast Chicago in the car when I was a kid in the 90s to the point where I know the lyrics to most of their hits by heart. Its a kind of innocent you can never get back or replicate
Chicago..... AUSTRALIA LOVES YA 😂❤ I remember my navy veteran dad who loved the original records of CHI 1 to 15. Then one day we heard HTSAS on the radio and it blew our collective minds. I distinctly remember growing up in Hong Kong and Asia at the time. 80s music is timeless. With HTSAS began my love for this band. I did try getting into the records from the 70s but it didn't suit my listening. Cue the voice of Jason Scheff, 23 year young debutant who changed this group with #18 onwards. For me, IMHO, Champlin & Scheff were the golden boys of California that changed everything forever. Then in 2010 I was all psyched to see CHICAGO & AMERICA live in Sydney in 2010. I suffered a major accident and remember arguing with the Dr saying DUDE CHILL I CAN FLY 😂😂😂😂😂😂 My grandma heard my whippersnappin ways and gave me a good clobbering 😂 I respect her wishes and stayed home and cried my eyes out. Then in 2014 I had the luck to visit Canada and got my wish granted to see their gig on Walter's BDay March 14. However, I would dearly love to see the lads again and hope we cross paths soon. The new guys bring a lot of talent to the 3 big bosses. 😂 Great stuff as always. Finished hearing the first half of the new CD, got 4 faves from there which will be on repeat. Tracks 1,2,4 & 6 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Will finish hearing the album later. Really keen to hear the lineup live. Sydney Opera House is calling 😂❤😅😊
Great job Neil Donell 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I wish the best for Chicago, yall are my family and inspiring me to be better for me and better for real abandoned persons.
I STILL REMEMBER WHEN I HAD IN MY HANDS THE 1st LP OF THIS WONDERFUL BAND AND THE BEST THING IS THAT THEY SOUND JUST GOOD SINCE THEN... GROOVY ✌😷🌎🇲🇽😙👍🆗💯🎵🎉
Best new music in years! Wow ! Only hope and pray this song is not prophetic !
Luv Neil! And of course the rest of them!!
Don't know how but this band is actually sweeter. Just love this music.
Sweetest hornside....ever
Play on gentlemen.
Great and thanks for top notch music, Chicago is and will always be unique. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 🍸🍸🍸🍸🍸 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Wish I saw Bill in some of the footage, as he was a KEY piece to your success for 25+ years. That being said the song is beautiful. Brings back a lot of memories for me from the late 70's onward.
Thank you Chicago. Regards from Caracas/Venezuela
oh God....still loving it...
When I was Berklee professor I had Jim's son. I got to meet you guys at a show. I have seen you several times and not once disappointed. Truly an amazing band. Thank you!!!
Thank you Chicago! One of my favorite bands of all time!
‘Life’s too short to be enemies…’ ❤️
They play this at my work place. I had to look this up cause i love it so much
they play this at my job and i hate it
Goodbye Chicago, still have all of my cd’s and 45’s!
Chicago made the 60’s a happy time growing up in the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s!
Thanks, Chicago
Chicago has its classic, yet contemporary sound in place on this new musical masterpiece.
Thanks a lot Chicago❤❤❤😢
What a surprise on what a great song
I have had the pleasure of meeting Chicago when they played "my house" in 2017 & 2020 and am looking forward to having them in "the house" again in 2023 when I sincerely hope this is part of their set list. I told them they have never disappointed me in 50+ years and they still are just bringing out new and wonderful music Long Live Chicago!!!🎶🎷🎹🎶
Nothing like memories
Thanks so much for the happy good cry! Here's hoping you all know how much you've added to many, many lives!
I love Chicago singing and their music.
This just makes me want to cry.
I love this song! 🥰
Fantastic song
This is gut wrenching good 🤩 love 💕 Chicago so much Neil is off the wall great Love Robert solo 💖Horns are always special
I've loved this band since CTA. I know this is a music video and not a documentary, but geez..would it have killed them to include some shots of Walter, Peter, and the other originals, and all the terrific 2nd teamers. I don't know any of these new guys, and sorry, they're not Chicago. I appreciate Bobby, Lee and Jimmy still doing it. Incredible. If Tom Cuddy put this together, they'd all be included.
Why do I get teary - eyed whenever I listen to this song? Love this song!!!
Love this!
And love my band then, now, and forever❤️❤️❤️❤️
I always enjoy what you share on here but I never got the chance to say Hello 👋
Chicago has always been a gift of sound, and music. What a journey it has been, decades long in the making. This song is a bit bittersweet, and familiarly happy in the now as well. Bravo to all who have been part of this sound, of the soundtracks of our lives.
You never cease to amaze me. Love the new song and you.
Looked to see if you were coming to my area. To my disappointment you were not. I live in the Boston area. Last time I saw you, it was you and.Earth,Wind and Fire. What a fabulous concert. I say that about-every time (7×) if seen you. I would love it if you could book a concert. Maybe in Mansfield,Mass at Great Woods. It is called something else now, but, it will always be that to me.
I would love it if you would play your new song. Next time you are in the area.
You guys are timeless.
Love & Miss you All, Julie 🎤🎹🎺🎻🎷🥁
Happy Birthday, Mr. Loughnanne
This is one of those tracks that is going to grow on you. I really love this track and the well produced video. Made me a bit weepy though, but then Chicago tracks have always done that to me . When a track grows on you, it imbeds in your heart and soul.
The vocal mixture is stunning... as usual. Their music is the soundtrack of my life.
what a song!
My Heroes in music! Thanks guys!
What a beautiful song :vvv
Incredible songs, incredible arrangements, incredible sound, incredible creativity, incredible playing and singing. That´s Chicago!
They still got it😭😭😭 My current favorite song💕💕💕
Been listening since I was 17 in 1966!
Thanks, Chicago! Ellen M.
If they played this on the radio, it would hit top 10!
Glad I grew up listening to Chicago! Wishing you the best is yet to come!
Same age as them! A crazy ride, sometimes rough, when Terry Kath died but they we’re alive again!
(MEM)
Thanks, Chicago! Oh And Goodbye to you all,
The 60’s were a rough time to be a teenager!
And they made it so much better!
Love (MEM)
Thanks for the memories Chicago!
NEW ERA!🔥
Very classy
I need to cry now.. Beautiful... You all are amazing 👏 ❤️ 💖
I grew up in the 70s and with all the tremendous bands & artists that came out of that era you'd think it would be hard to pick an over all favorite, but not for me. From your first album on, I fell in love with the music of Chicago! I tell people all the time that my favorite band of all time is Chicago. I've been fortunate to see you in concert 5 times & loved every show. You never disappoint! I hope this isn't the end & I get to see you at least one more time! Thanks for years of wonderful memories!
50+ Years and STILL SOLID GOLD!!
Respect! They've still got it. Loving their music for 4 decades now!
Thanks guys for great song ..you have been a band for a long time and seen many changes in music over five decades...you are still the kings of rock bands, and have kept doing what you do best and bringing out quality songs..your wonderful songs have never left the radio airwaves and have stood the test of time .
I efffing love this....
Chicago saying goodbye
leaving us wanting more. Great track!
So cool that Peter Curtis Pardini (director) still works with Chicago even after his uncle Lou is no longer a band member.
I remember growing up with all the kids in my block playing a 45 in my mom's living room enjoying this beautiful song we just sat there singing this song before my oldest brother joined the army I miss my brother
Thanks to VetTix I got to see Chicago live. That was awesome. I didn't expect to become a fan!
You guys are amazing.
There are very few bands out there that have accommodated such changes in personnel instead of breaking up. With Bobby, Jimmy, Walt, and Lee still rocking strong, and holding the core together... but now it seems like Walt will not be able to go forward with you. And then there were three.
I'm sure that at some point it's seemed like you were a cover band for your own songs. When people still want to hear stuff from CTA, for example. Or the seven thousandth time you've played "If You Leave Me Now."
But songs like this show us all how much new creativity there still is in both the long-time members and the new folks. You're more than just your legacy.
