Going to raves first time on the Riviera in France. Going to friends cottages and enjoying my last summer of total freedom before starting my working career. So i had 9 weeks off holiday. This song brings me back to that. By the way i also had my first half serious relationship with a lovely girl, that i thought at the time was way out of my league. I was a big fan of X-files as a kid and my mam bought me an X-files phenomena book for my birthday written by the lass that married Jonathan ross, and then catatonia ended up on one of my TOTP CDs. Nostalgia is a potent drug it seems....
This song has been in the dark recesses of my mind for more than 20 years, probably even 25. When I was really young, I remember my sister had a box of CDs she was selling with a label that looked like yellow hazard tape. I think she was selling it as part of a fundraiser? This is the one song I remembered from it. I wasn't sure I'd ever hear this song again, because I wasn't sure if it was a real song or a song made by an underground local artist for that CD specifically. I decided to Google 'Mulder and Scully lyrics', since that's the only lyric I remembered. I didn't expect it to be the title. It's so wild to know this was a real song with a music video and everything.
Under 15 2023 teen here. This song has made it into my playlist along with queen, oasis, stereophonics, green day, bon jovi, beatles ect. This is the music style I grew up with oddly. Wish I was born in the 90s, looked like a blast
Fair play to you for actually being honest about what you like, and not simply following the crowd etc! You're right btw! It was a blast and I miss those days SO badly. For yourself, I'm sure you'll look back in some way, at some stage, the world today, and eventually have some happy and cool memories though 👍... without wanting to sound patronising or like a boring old man, I reckon the people around your age now are the absolute last generation to be brought up in, and live in a half decent world. May not seem like it now, but from what I've seen, things are changing so much that I feel sorry for anyone living in the world from this point onwards. I hope I'm worng though! Shout out to the 90s 😎
i still remember when i first heard this song from 102.1 the edge in the 90s, when Dave Bookman was talking about that weeks newist songs, i was living at my moms house in the 90s in Cobourg 17 or 18... good times!
The human brain is an unbelievable thing.... Capable of creating of what ever it thinks... From boats that cross the ocean, to planes that fly but let's not forget that's just average day life. The unique power that music has is to transport you back in time. For either good or bad everyone has 'that song, that memory, that happy or sad moment.... Everything will pass, we are a unique bunch of people. No one before or since are gonna be like us. We are the pioneer's of the digital age. Think about that.
Brilliant LOVE it its probably the first song of theirs that I heard, and for ages was one of the few. To think that I was daft enough to find Cerys voice a trifle harsh, when I first heard it. But I love it now.

'Stop doing what you keep doing '
Accent is absolutely 💯 amazing sounding in this song!
Loved the Welsh accent ever since I was little. Always found how she says "Skelly" instead of "Scully" hilarious.
I love this song... I remember how back in the days I used to play it again and again...
LOVE the guitar at the start of this song! ❤🏴
haha and I love the guitar at the end of this song :D
Fantastic song by an awesome band - takes me right back to good ol days of the 90s ❤️
1997: We can't afford David Duchovny or Gillian Anderson, but we can get Rhys Ifans.
2007: We can't afford Rhys Ifans but we can get David Duchovny or Gillian Anderson.
2017: We can't afford Gillian Anderson or Rhys IFans but we can get David Duchovny.

EnglishXnXproud he was trying to bring them down from the inside...and also to reimburse his omega watch.
@@murrvvmurr 5 months later: what brought me here? I was reading about CATATONIA in COVID-19 patients and remembered how great this band is. I'm going to go through all of their songs and this was first.

I miss the 90s. One oft the last great lights of Britpop.
Rhys Ifans!! Why have I only just noticed him?? "Enter the fucking dragon!".
Just a pity that Gillian Anderson & David Duchovny aren't in the vid, but it's still a great song

Cool Cymru at its finest. Bendigedig! 🤘🏻
Feckin great stuff !! Who’s here feb 2021
Cerys was a BIG part of my adolescence. I used to THINK about her a lot. Several times a day sometimes. Until I couldnt THINK about her any more.
Lurid 😂
Rhys Ifans the visibility vest wearing Welsh Fox Mulder, fucking legend.
I was a big fan of X-files as a kid and my mam bought me an X-files phenomena book for my birthday written by the lass that married Jonathan ross, and then catatonia ended up on one of my TOTP CDs. Nostalgia is a potent drug it seems....
remember my radio days in 1998 playing this song pure nostalgia !!
Been searching for this video since the 90s.
It's so wild to know this was a real song with a music video and everything.
one of those songs that I listened to the radio and just found out it has official music video! youtube can be very useful sometimes.
I've been rocking the CD lately. 2020 is the perfect time for this song!
Music is the best time machine.
1:51 favorite part😍
That bus seat material!
1:51 is the most soul aching thing i ever heard
Pure 90s
It was.
i still remember when i first heard this song from 102.1 the edge in the 90s, when Dave Bookman was talking about that weeks newist songs, i was living at my moms house in the 90s in Cobourg 17 or 18... good times!
I was doing something similar inToronto at that time.
I could listen to Cerys call me the biggest idiot in the world and still smile - that voice !!!!!
reminiscing my high school days...when songs still has meaning...
The Truth is Out There. You know if you know.
CATATONIA REALLY DID SOME DECENT TUNES COME ON YOU 90s
This is a very underrated song... never ages... it is just epic.... the video, is exerything
Today, is the first time I’ve watched this video. I used to listen to this album on loop when I was at TxState ❤
ohhh the 90's xxxxxxxxxxxx
July 2019, still love this song
Bring back the 90s. Bliss.
Think about that.
ohh this really takes me back. International Velvet was the first CD album i ever owned, loved this song and played that CD to death lol.
Jesus it’s a great tune !! Fair play
I heard that song one day!and it changed me!
I love the X-files. Especially all the episodes featuring "Malder and Scally."
Brilliant LOVE it its probably the first song of theirs that I heard, and for ages was one of the few. To think that I was daft enough to find Cerys voice a trifle harsh, when I first heard it. But I love it now.
Still a very catchy tune
Absoulately the unique voice!
Aza brought me here. Cheers to Aza!
