- I visited Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World to try all of the new food in the park! There were some really great new offerings as well as some not so great offerings.

I was a seafood salesman for many years.(in the UK)
They are king prawns(not shrimp),they sometimes turn a gray or even a little black,when they are over cooked,but they are still good enough to eat.
As for the boil,that looked like dirty dish water.
I think that color on the shrimp is due to the broth it was cooked in.
The shrimp look that way because of the spices in the boil. As for the sausage, they probably over cooked it as well. They most likely cooked them all separately and then dumped it all into one pot to keep warm right before serving and that is why everything was over cooked.
First mistake was getting boiled seafood in a theme park. And rolls served with it...😖

Kristen, I think the shrimp was black because of the seasoning, but if it is sitting in the broth all the time, it’s gonna be tough!

Girl!! Agreed on the cinnamon roll! They haven’t been the same since Starbucks moved into Main Street Bakery. Then they (the cinnamon rolls) moved to Gaston’s and I haven’t even bothered.

I used to love Be Our Guest when they had the 3 different dining options (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and it was affordable, great french onion soup and beef dip that I miss.

The shrimp is grey because of the broth its sitting on, It looks delicious. Your funny you don't like the grey on the prawns but you love the grey on the cupcake. :-)

The shrimp looking that way could be a combination of seasoning, the fact that it's over cooked, or that they could have slit the middle of the shrimp, but didn't fully clean the black out of the slit and some of that might also be the color. With how it looks, it seems to be a combination of things, not just one reason.

Great video! Totally agree with you about the lack of tables and I refuse to eat on a trashcan.
We use to love the quick service option at Be our guest! The turkey sandwich $12-15 was perfect for a lunch!! Not really interested in a set menu especially at the price point !
The food is excellent at Be Our Guest. Worth the price.
Disney is my favorite, but there is never shade or places to sit, I think they do not want people to linger, but all it causes is big families to keep a hold of a spot all day, taking turns going to attractions so others can not sit.

the black on the shrimp is likely oxidation (similar to the browning on an apple) and doesn't indicate that it is bad, but it's definitely not pleasant to look at.
I would argue that it often means it isn't the freshest of shrimp
You should of talked to the manager of Columbia Harbor House and asked for a refund or replacement of something else
Why didn’t you return the seafood boil for a new one? As someone’s whose worked in the restaurant industry, you risk getting sick if anything on your plate looks questionable.
I kept thinking that too. I mean it wasn't just one item that she struggled with. That sausage skin was horrible too.
That’s frozen shrimp! They’re put in the pot frozen and that’s the color they come out. They’re not bad, just not fresh shrimp. And this from a South Louisiana girl!

I think the sausage is the same as when you buy the Bologna type sausage and you peel the skin off which is a type of paper not a casing.

Back in the day, the Columbia Harbor House used to serve a Montecristo Sandwich with a raspberry dipping sauce that was a sweet and savory masterpiece...gone now...

When we were there last summer Columbia Harbor House was testing the seafood boil and my father in law got it and gave his feedback to the cast members. He said it was delicious but his looked 100 times better than yours. You must have gotten a really bad batch! I would have definitely taken that shrimp back 🥴

We do crawfish/shrimp/crab boils all the time! The shrimp looks over cooked and I could tell the seasoning looked lacking! 😅 thank you for taking one for the team! Will not order 😂

I 100% agree that the cinnamon roll is way overrated! I may have just gotten a bad batch, but the one I had honestly wasn’t even as good as ones I can make from a can.
Was it BAD? Not at all. But definitely not worth the money and missing out on better snacks.

I did some research and some thought about the shrimp: I think it is black in spots because of melanin - nothing harmful. That one shrimp. The overall discoloring I believe is from the spices in the broth and being boiled in it - but in this case overboiled and so it took on a dingy appearance. You said they tasted bad - not sure if you meant it has gone off or just not good as in the flavor profile and texture and sounding like it needs more salt. I think the casing was probably chewy for the same reason - being overboiled. I'm thinking they need to make less, but more often, probably sits around too long. Those are my thoughts, for what it is worth! I think you will be okay, but let us know!

The seafood boil was just extremely over cooked. If you didn’t, you should have just taken it back and got your money back. Glad you had mostly good experiences with other treats.
Hey love your show I watch you and Nate your brother etc anyways I watched a video. Not sure how long ago it was, but I would say at least 6+ months ago maybe even a year ago you and Nate and your friends were at a pizza restaurant that is not inside Disney, but you can actually see Disney’s fireworks from that pizza restaurant. I was just wondering if you could tell me what the name of that is and even maybe send me the link to that video. I would like to watch it again. I’m just not sure if it was on yours or Nate’s page you were both there.

I use to love harbor house and shellfish till I developed a shellfish allergy but that seafood did NOT look good
I disagree about Be Our Guest Restaurant. I was there with a friend a little over a year ago and the food was fantastic. It’s worth the price.
Columbia Harbor House was really good when they first opened.. So sad to see that meal.---Glad you showed us----the shrimp were super scary!

Edit: I hear you on the tables! Great point! I don't know where a person can go to suggest these things to WDW but more would make a lot of sense! At least a couple high tops near by or a bench to sit down.
