ガラス職人｜佐竹ガラス
昭和2年に創業した佐竹ガラスは、現在も日本で唯一、戦前から続く工芸用色ガラス棒生産工場である。美しく安定した品質の製品を提供し続けている。
日本全国のガラス工芸職人を支える、なくてはならない存在であるのはもちろん、自社でも若手の女性職人を積極的に雇用し、とんぼ玉の製造、販売も行っている。
また、ガラス細工の魅力を普及するための体験教室も行っており、国の「登録有形文化財」となっている工房には子どもからお年寄りまで、とんぼ玉づくりのワークショップに訪れている。

Glass Shokunin | Satake Glass (佐竹ガラス)
Founded in 1927 (Showa 2), Satake Glass is the only factory built in the prewar era in Japan that still produces colored glass rods for handicrafts. It continues to offer beautiful and high-quality products.
In addition to being an indispensable supporter of glass shokunins all over Japan, the company also actively employs young female shokunins to craft and sell Japanese glass beads (とんぼ玉, Tombo dama).
It also holds hands-on workshops to spread the appeal of glasswork, and various people, from children to the elderly, visit the workshop to enjoy creating glass beads. The factory, keeping its original Japanese-style architecture, is also designated as a national "registered tangible cultural property."
