42 yo here and this OST makes me tear up. Is so magical how developers make this work of art with all the limitations. Is not nostalgia, games were such a wonder back then
I’m 42 also, and remember waking up Saturday mornings to play this. Usually the second or third level I would choose since Metal Man’s weapon killed him super fast
45 y and definately not nostalgica i replayed the anniversaries compilation of Castlevania and Megaman and i prepfered every single 8 bit NES game over anything else - they even aged better than the rest. Its odd that 8 bit consoles aged so well, because i do not feel the same for pc/amiga/C64 games made in the 80ies, those were far inferior in graphics, gameplay, controls and sound compared to the early consoles. Heck even the ports were better at the NES.(Defender of the Crown and Might and Magic 1) Some of the console ports even added a good UI, actual music and much better graphics. Just shows how bad computers were supported for games compared to consoles during the mid and late 80ies. They kinda catched up with consoles a bit by the mid 90ies. Also those old NES games were a lot of fun and - most of the time -only took a small amount of your time, typcially around 30 mins were needed to complete a game like MM or CV.
I honestly never knew most people had a problem with the background until recently. I personally didn't have a problem and I find it to be quite beautiful.
I’m 40 now and I have had this song in my head every since I played the bubble stage. Just last night I made it a mission to listen to all mega man songs until I figured it out. Thanks for the upload dude
Rock man, with bass with his dog named after a band, with his sister roll, they make rock and roll, and the songs resemble many real songs, its all interesting
same. i think it’s the first stage i ever played in mega man when i was 5 years old. the song basically says to me, life is hard, but keep at it and things will turn out well in the end
@@xx73140 I'd say the most recent song I've heard that comes close to the old school levels of amazing with composure and design for me was Dark Falz Loser's theme in PSO2.
Me here at 45 listening to Mega Man Themes in 2022...Fireman, Bubble Man, Gemini Man, Metal Man, Wood Man, Air Man, Flash Man, Mega Man 3 Wily Stage 2, Proto Man's Theme....Man It never gets old. Im planning on getting me a desktop arcade that will have all the mega man games once again so I can spend time on it playing them. I thank you for reminding me on my childhood days playing this game and many others.
Best track in the game. So beautiful and emotional yet always cast aside to be left forgotten by many for unfair reasons. Still severely disappointed that it didn't receive the treatment it needed in Ultimate to completely represent this game. I mean come on, you literally need Bubble Man to defeat the final boss. Isn't that important enough?
Maybe Bubble Man was just the least popular Robot Master in the game (because, you know, bubbles) It is a shame, because this literally is my favourite track in the entire game, and yet it never made in Smash (not even in the Mega Man 2 Retro Medley)
Such a iconic song from this game. Times were so much simpler back in 1989. I miss those days. Jnes emulator has a stereo option that makes NES soundtracks like this sound great.
I remember when i was a kid, and played megaman 2 for the first time in bubble man stage, i died so much times for the spikes. This music give chills and remember me from good old times.
This song was made in 1988 back when video games had the most ridiculous limitations on what you could do musicwise, and somehow this is cooler than pretty much all popular 80s music and even a significant chunk of popular 90s music. There may have been better songs in later game soundtracks, largely due to both expansions in NES music capabilities and then of course later video game systems having much wider capabilities, but this I would argue is the best song in a game soundtrack from '88 or earlier, and maybe the best song in a game soundtrack for its time ever. This is 34 years old and has stood the test of time extremely well.
Tienes razón, me pasa lo mismo, uno siempre regresa adónde fue feliz, no importa cuánto me aleje, tengo regresar... Estas melodías me traen paz, estoy en casa (;
Easily, one of my all time NES jams! Reminds me of being 12 years old, getting home from school and playing this is the Fall. Mega Man 2, one of the best NES soundtracks out there!
I really love that all (if not most) Megman tracks really ininsuate the location you're in. This one really does feel like an aquatic labyrinth full of traps when on your way to defeat the robot master of water (and bubbles)
It's October 21, 2021 and playing Devil May Cry V, I just discovered the detail of Nero posing like Mega Man when firing the buster canon mid air and it made me smile. OG Mega Man on NES was one of my earliest gaming memories and it's cool to see such a small touch bring back so many memories. Had to come here and rock out to Bubble Man theme while killing undead with the Buster in DMC! Long live Mega Man and Capcom!
I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS ONE FOR SO LONG! I always thought it was the frog man stage and got myself thinking that I just remembered the tune wrong. Definitely one of my favorites along with crash man's stage.
This level for me was a throw away, but as time passed, the theme has become a staple in my morning routines with chrono cross dream of another shore or dire dire blocks from mario 64
Nostalgia.... catchy theme and good water stage from Megaman 2, Bubbleman I enjoyed the stage on the part that u drown into the water and witness lots of black spike memorable.
This song is about spending all day by the pool, only to come back in the house to play Street Fighter II with your friends while eating pizza back in the summer of 1993
I always felt bad for NES era composers, because they were writing absolutely killer songs that probably would have been smash hits if they were released by a rock band, but they were trapped in 8 bit and no one took game music seriously back then.
