- Chicago Cubs baseball's legendary broadcaster Harry Caray, passed away on February 18, 1998. Holy cow, that's more than 22 years ago...a sad day indeed for those of us who call ourselves Cubs fans. I found these old VHS video clips from '98, so I'm uploading them to remember the man, the myth, the legend. And fyi, the first 20 seconds of this video is just a little something that I put together just to do something different. Too much time on my hands due to the COVID-19 pandemic I guess...plus, it's summer and there's NO CUBS, NO MLB BASEBALL, no tennis (Wimbledon), etc., and I'm still not sure if we will see much sports in 2020, including baseball, even though I know that MLB says they're coming back. I'll believe it when I see it.
Rest in peace to Harry Caray and Stuart Scott.
Should have seen him before the Cubs . Man was he a pro . So quick and spot on into the games
Harry was always a pro and forever will be.
portable TV. wow that's an old clip!
Harry was 83 when he died, guys.
"The cause of death was a sudden change in the rhythm of his heart that prevented oxygen getting to his brain." Soooooo it stopped?
Except that he wasn't 77. He was 83. He died just shy of his 84th birthday. 1914-1998.
RIP Harry, and Stuart Scott. 🙏
