The W was not ready for prime time. It has tremendous players but was not ready for all the attention and scrutiny. It looked like a second rate league. Hopefully, after this great and tumultuous season it will learn and grow. Why can women never criticize or say the truth. The WNBA F’d up. The veterans of the league f’d up. And especially the media. I mean listen to these people trying to blame the fans for not knowing the women’s league. Like none of us have tried to watch WNBA games. It’s garbage. It’s a terrible product. The players are entitled, always complaining. Watching the special Olympics is more entertaining. I never heard one WNBA player take accountability for why their league sucks. And then they get blessed with a golden goose. And what do they do? They obviously have zero wisdom and kill it.
The "casual fans" are the feminists who claim they support WNBA but couldn't name three players before Caitlin Clark. New WNBA fans like myself aren't necessarily casual cause I been watching basketball for decades
@@UltimateCombatSportsNetwork It’s not about the individual, it’s about the collective. You do know how much money owners have made off of black college and professional athletes.🫤 Harlem Globetrotters put the NBA on the map world wide. The biggest reason for the increase of black athletes in a once predominantly white sports. Plenty more examples.
It's mostly tweens and their families. The fact that the rest of the WNBA claims they're racist proves that they're lying and that should be the conversation. Why is the commissioner, the players, the media and the ref behavior dishonest? Their is only one reporter trying to answer that question and players target her with lies. That proves her point. Anyone who does their homework knows that this is going on. The rest is just hateful propaganda.
A question for Dan Patrick, since I know and respect him better than the others. I am one of those who has been both ignorant and apathetic about the WNBA until I very recently discovered Caitlin Clark. In spite of that, I had seen enough to know that it was highly "physical." You don't have to watch some of those brutes in the paint smashing into a shooter or climbing each other for a rebound to realize it's a "physical" game. It's one quality that failed to attract me as a fan. But what does Dan mean by "the physicality of the WNBA"? Is the WNBA typically "physical" to the point that one player routinely walks up during a dead ball and blind sides another player, knocking her to the floor, resulting in a crushing penalty of one free throw? Is that class of "physicality" standard fare for the WNBA? How about when one player pretends to make a block attempt but in the exaggerated follow-through fairly obviously guides her pointed fingers into the shooter's eyes? I'm not sure what foul was called in that case, if any. If that is what Dan means by "the physicality" of the WNBA, then he's right. As a clueless newcomer to WNBA, I was surprised by its level of "physicality." But I wouldn't call it "physicality." I would call it calculated and unrestrained brutality. And yes, although I've only watched her for a couple of weeks, I am among those who think it is obvious that they are indeed "zeroing in on our little Caitlin Clark." And what's more, the referees seem to be on in on it, or at least with no real attempt to restrain it. Now, I suspect our little Caitlin Clark will be able to withstand the onslaught as long as the "physicality" of the thugs in the WNBA don't actually poke out an eye or cause a serious injury. But that will be no thanks to you and those who feel it their duty to serve as enablers for these malicious miscreants. And if our little Caitlin Clark ends up being seriously injured by what you characterize as simply 'the physicality of the WNBA," then it's partly on you as one of their enablers. Live with the risk of that possible outcome if you're comfortable with it. I, for one, will remember you for it.
I watched some games for the first time because of the quality of play of Caitlin Clark. When I watched games without her, it was seriously disappointing. I've never witnessed so many missed shots and don't get me started on the no call fouls on Caitlin. Caitlin has clearly outshined them all and they are being shown what a class act she is. It's making them go crazy.
The officiating in the WNBA is awful. It needs a complete ovehaul. Futhermore, the WNBA lost $40 million this season. When will the NBA and those owners who have equity in the WNBA get a dividend?
Yes. All the sudden 1M+ CC fans started watching WNBA and quickly realized how unprofessional and shady the organization was. It was shocking! Refs ARE horrible( ask Liberty) announcers were horrible, covering was horrible. Yes. We 1M+ new fans are CC fans, not WNBA fans and the W has done little to keep us when CC isn’t playing.

It was the incoming class, the competitiveness of Reese and Clark, the media advancing their rivalry and women's basketball overall continuing to grow. I'm not surprised, the American media made it about Clark as will many Americans given the history of the nation but we've had plenty of tremendous talent in the league. This is more about the Clark vs Reese narrative which is why so many find themselves invested. Thinkers see these things. Use your brain folks.
The WNBA wasn't ready to provide good officiating and use CC's fan appeal to boost their marketing? Clearly not. They could have easily put CC on the Olympic Team and used her star power to elevate all of their players. Instead, they constantly downplayed her while she consistently outplayed all of her peers. The WNBA was stupid and missed multiple opportunities to attract more new fans.
Caitlin Clark if I could do everything again, I would find someone I love, and that loves me, someone that makes me forget about the many problems that have to be solved, true love, someone that with whom Time stands still.

Biggest problem with the wnba is about 15% of the players are very good players, and maybe another 15% are adequate, the remaining 70% however are not very good. If their salaries go up in next year or two hopefully they can draw more Euro/Int'l players into the league, especially with wnba expanding by 3 teams in next 2 years.
I think the old guards are too oppressive regarding the CC effects. They're trying to paint new fans as bad while not protecting them from trolls. Established players are not supporting each other but rather bringing down those who are performing well and not being vocal about their appreciation to these rookies and new fans.

lets be honest that WNBA series has to be the worst either team has ever played. One team did not even score almost the whole over time period. One of the games both teams went a whole 5 minutes without either team scoring. It was ugly. One player shot 1 for 19, common sense would tell the player today is not you day for shooting, so how about some lay laps. CC had to learn that and she got better because of it.

I was already a fan, who enjoyed watching Indiana. The rhetoric spewed about anyone who enjoys also watching CC has lead me to stop watching. I’m done.
Chicag home attendance increase this year was one of the lowest in the league. Chicago couldn’t help Atlanta draw more than 3,200 people with State Farm Arena available. All star voting for Chicago player was pathetic. Try again.
No, it is Caitlin Clark. She is basically the Taylor Swift of Basketball(yes basketball not woman basketball). And like RCA then, they lost the Golden Goose. And now the Woman's Basketball is about to loose their Golden Goose to the Euro world who sees the Person and the talent and the need to make sure the players are safe on and off court. So if history shows, Caitlin Clark has the potential to be the next Billionaire Basketball Star who cares about the Team, the players and the Fans and most important the Game. Perhaps soon there will be a push for the Clarkies. And if one loves the Game, nobody is there cheering on who sleeping with who. So get over the labels and sit and watch and enjoy the Game.

While I won't say that she's saving the W, it is also true that you can't save someone/something that doesn't want to be saved. You can't elevate someone/something that doesn't want to be.
@@mattgoldberg4335 well thought out , I have been keeping up with the W for years so I have seen the slow growth & improvements made. this year ALOT has been upgraded so I can’t disagree with anything you said! great points made 🤝🏾
@@bo0gi3 Thanks.
Physicality of the game is not the issue. It's the unfairness, pettiness, conspiracy and politics in officiating which is causing stagnation.
Create an atmosphere of fairness and fun games, and everything will go smoothly.
Then they have to admit that most of their players are racist towards the white players and they will never admit that.
The W was not ready for prime time. It has tremendous players but was not ready for all the attention and scrutiny. It looked like a second rate league. Hopefully, after this great and tumultuous season it will learn and grow. I think that will be the biggest impact that CC and others will have in the game because they really have a great product as far as the basketball goes.
“It’s not just Caitlin Clark…” but all we talk about is CC. Get this woman off the TV, she’s clueless.
She’s a sideline reporter for football. That’s all Tracy knows about. That and Michigan football
ESPN stuffed up treating her like crap, you gonna learn today 🤣
Ok, who else got poked in the eye nearly, by Nine Inch Nails, before that, got their ear drum punctured, yes AR got WWeffed, by Alyssa “the grappler” Thomas, who also shiver shouldered CC in the Jaw. Not fair to point these things out??? ☑️👌😎 JP
Physicality BS its flagrant fouls warranting ejection, its not bball its bully ball. I hope CC skips the WNBA and plays real bball in Europe.
These ESPN talking heads just don't want Caitlin Clark to be important. They are threatened by her.
More women need to attend WNBA, just like they do with the NBA!
Exactly maybe more ladies and Black fans need to support the black players. But they don't
@@creationmuse2313 this isn’t talked about enough great point
@@creationmuse2313 Michael Jordan put basketball on the map.. but okay
There is no league without fans. Never forget that
A question for Dan Patrick, since I know and respect him better than the others.
LOL at "The WNBA is such an inclusive league."
That statement is divorced from reality.
Stop calling dirty play and cheap shots "physicality".
The woman should work for MSNBC.
Girls, don’t let the trolls get to you
The players need to grow up . Social media is a cesspool for everyone.
Oh this is ESPN.
17 percent of technical fouls for Caitlin clark. Speaks volumes
Finals ratings are all at time highs. Arenas are sold out. The Caitlin Clark Klan will surely claim that's fake news though 😂
@@sgtarmas😂 u is correct 👍🏽...her fanboys think Catlin Clark was here b4 da WNBA, instead of knowing da WNBA was here b4 Catlin Clark...go home & stay home Catlin Clark😂😂😂😂😂
Denial of the CC effect is flat earth level stupidity.
@@WhiskeyTangoFoxtraught no denial, she's not all dat...go drink ur whiskey 🥃 & calmed down 😀
Yeah Because Finally getting 1 million viewers in the playoffs after the league has been around 20 plus years is So Spectacular...And the Only Playoff games that sold out without Clark have been Liberty Games...😂
5:14 Hockey going back to ESPN was the best thing for hockey.
I am a Kaitlin Clark Angel, Reese fan❤❤
Caitlin
The WNBA wasn't ready to provide good officiating and use CC's fan appeal to boost their marketing? Clearly not. They could have easily put CC on the Olympic Team and used her star power to elevate all of their players. Instead, they constantly downplayed her while she consistently outplayed all of her peers. The WNBA was stupid and missed multiple opportunities to attract more new fans.
They brought back Dan 😮
To the woman on the panel, you are a great DEI hire,
Keep pushing the party line,
Caitlin Clark if I could do everything again, I would find someone I love, and that loves me, someone that makes me forget about the many problems that have to be solved, true love, someone that with whom Time stands still.
ESPN is a joke!
WNBA needs to realize. Cait is here. Now. Forget your personal politics. You can either accept reality or bury your head in the sand. There are no second chances
The CC effect is real. And she's one of the most polarizing athletes I've ever seen. Good to see DP on ESPN, but wish they woulda posted a clip that included all 4 panelists. I wanted to hear what William Rhoden's take.
CC getting roughed up is not getting elbowed in the face and no fouls brought up. What a peice of ship to try and downplay the hate and abuse thrown towards CC.
Biggest thing about the CC effect? Players and analysts claiming it is exaggerated, over played, or doesn’t exist, lmao… Now, she shouldn’t have been 1st team “W”, uh, ok… ☑️👌😎 JP
It's pitiful that you can't just give Clark the credit and move on! I' m now a WNBA fan, but never watched one game before Clark!
You mean the Caitlin Clark phenomenon? This is far different than an Effect.
wnba not ready for cc but they wouldnt admit
Who is the clueless ESPN woman?
After the Fever got Eliminated Caitlin except for a few fun videos has disappeared. No Podcasts No Interviews just left to live her life. Buuuuut She still is the central figure of hundreds of articles and videos , why you ask???? Because people want to see and hear about her. Heck there is a Certain Sky Player with a podcast who says She is the Star can't do a podcast without bringing CC up . Caitlin brought fans to the W and for now a ton are staying ,however they are only going to take being called names from the Media and the Players who have bunched them in with a group of trolls and Botts so long . The W is a fragile league who is a Caitlin having enough and walking away moment from being back on channels no one heard of again
The W is doing just fine with Clark on break lol
@@I.am_Groot Yeah ya'll are salivating on those 1M+ views during the Finals when CC is doubling that during the 1st round. FFS her games during the regular season averaged more viewers. What pathetic standards ya'll legacy fans have.
Dan is right
Turn off social media.., it is still trash
Wow, surprised by Dan Patrick's comments. Always thought he stayed above the fray. Oh well. 🤷
lets be honest that WNBA series has to be the worst either team has ever played. One team did not even score almost the whole over time period. One of the games both teams went a whole 5 minutes without either team scoring. It was ugly. One player shot 1 for 19, common sense would tell the player today is not you day for shooting, so how about some lay laps. CC had to learn that and she got better because of it.
"Its not only Caitlin Clark" Sorry sweatheart the numbers don't lie, its simply because of Caitlin Clark. look at games she was on TV and the viewership and compare that to lets say the WNBA finals she outdrew them all season long.
Simone Biles and Michael Jordan / Tiger are the only comparisons.
It is not even a little bit Angel Reese. If this lady had said it was partially Arike Ogunbowale, I’d accept that. Or Kelsey Mitchell… Probably a half dozen others. But Angel Reese did not help bring the viewership up. Nobody noticed when she wasn’t playing anymore. So pushing that narrative is just silly.
'Clarkonomics' is very very much a real thing, I've always had the W on my radar since the beginning, this season it blew up into something I never coulda fathomed, even though CC22 got eliminated in round 1, I'm still watching the Finals with the same enthusiasm and suspense with every possession and basket
good 🏀 is good 🏀
What a bunch of clowns!
Caitlin clark was the best womens Wnba player to ever suit up. Dumass referees. And the black plaeyers couldn't stand it
It's not the physicality, Dan, it's the cheap shots. It's the clotheslines. It's the eye gouges with long nails. There is no room in any sport for that kind of crap. Don't whitewash bad sportsmanship.
Caitlin is an inspiration to young white girls all across the world ❤
“With the product”. Let’s look at the product. Refs are so incompetent that it’s just infuriating. Some players literally targeting the rookies in a way that was just ridiculous. AT getting ejected for choke holding Reese. This crap takes away from the game.
The refs are doing what the league pays them to do.
@@johannesswillery7855 hmm you mean the league pays them to f up in a finals game? Stewie walked from NY to London to try to place the ball in the net.
@@pauladesmond5671 Yes, the refs do what their employer tells them to do. Just like every other sports league.
wow, blaming the fans for black girls getting jealous of a white girl being better at basketball than them.
The Sports Reporters used to be great, decades ago
Actually the wnba needs to look at the numbers. Peak viewership for the NCAA championship game was 24 million. Wnba jumps for joy getting a couple million. It shows how unwatchable it really is
I was already a fan, who enjoyed watching Indiana. The rhetoric spewed about anyone who enjoys also watching CC has lead me to stop watching. I’m done.
Caitlin clark is why i watch the wnba
They lost$40m
Chicag home attendance increase this year was one of the lowest in the league. Chicago couldn’t help Atlanta draw more than 3,200 people with State Farm Arena available. All star voting for Chicago player was pathetic. Try again.
The lady spoke a lot of words to say absolutely… nothing. Amazingly vapid.
Caitlyn clark has had her eyez on me from the beginning of fifth grade... Watching my game from milre away🙂↕️

The future GOAT for women’s sports
E$PN.. never forget you're watching a screen designed to make moneyt..
In order to be an immaculate member of her herd of sheeps, one must above all be a sheep. Albert Einstein.
