    Night shift differential is the best. Doesn't totally make up for way it messes up your sleep schedule, but I'd rather work nights, make more and NOT deal with the craziness of day shift in the hospital! Good rundown of a typical night!

      I am so happy for this video. Because I am thinking of going back in the CNA coming from Hope Hospice care the day shift put me in the Hospital I was doing too much and I couldn't walk end up with bulging disc from pulling up patients in bed. And before that I was always sick MRI show I have low cartilage damage and bulging disc at my side and OA over all my joints then they said I have fibromyalgra. I was out of work for 1 year. Buti MIs working and Doing all I can to help husband fiancially so I was thinking working at the hospital but am wondering I am making a terrible mistake going back in that situation of work? Am so scared due to my constant joint pain. Please give me your opinion. I was thinking night shift, even though it mes with my sleep and cause me to get dizzy .Because in the day shift it too much for me with bad health problems. Anyone reading this give me your opinion too please.

    Thank you for posting this video. I’m 3 months new into this CNA career. To make a long story short I was a machinist before this, however wanted to pursue my real passion. I just got hired onto a hospital and am scared out of my skin. I’m still learning and trying to figure this new career. I am thankful for your video because at least I can write down a rough draft of how my day should run. Meaning I liked how you gave yourself plenty of time to do the smaller things but yet know you do have a time schedule. Anyways thanks for posting 😊

  • @Jalisaloggins

    Hey I work as a CNA in a nursing home for 12 hr shifts. During the day they have 4 CNAS and at night we have 3 from 6pm-11pm and from 11pm-6am we only have 2 CNAS with 25-30 residents! Sometimes during 11-6am we have to watch our “sister” hall which is the hall right beside us which puts us up too 40 residents maybe, because they will pull that person to somewhere else or we’ll have a call in. We have residents who will crawl out of bed or scream on both halls so idk how we can only have 2 Cnas on both halls. It’s not bad if we had 2 on my hall and one on the our “sister” hall.

    I personally think a day shift should have the best rates. And so night shift as well because Durant the day is when everything happens and buzz you a lot the crazy it gets and hard working you do starting with waking up early to be 10 min. Before their huddle, and sacrifices cnas do specially if we are moms...with this been said I'm not minimizing the hard and changes of sleep patterns of night shift. But days deserves equal benefits.

    @misssimple82 Do you have any advice on how to get into the hospital? I got my license last Monday. The only experience I have is clinicals. I did not enjoy the nursing home I just saw alot ot horrible things done to the patients and it really upset me.

    • @JessicaLights
      @JessicaLights  6 лет назад +1

      Networking! It's sad but true. It's who you know. When I got my license I also wanted to go straight into a hospital. I applied to several and heard nothing back. Until my friend who worked in a hospital got me in. You can also try applying to a "sitter" position. Might be easier to get in that way and work your way up. Good luck! :)

    • @JessicaLights
      @JessicaLights  7 лет назад +4

      I would get home by 8, take a shower and sometimes eat something small and then go to sleep by 8:30am - 9:00am. Then I would wake up at any time by 1:30pm - 3:00pm. Which is crazy right? Because if you flip it around to regular day shift I would be waking up at 1:30am - 3:00am but somehow I was still functional lol ^_^'

    • @JessicaLights

    Do u pass out the lunch trays too? Or do they only do that in nursing homes?

    • @JessicaLights
      @JessicaLights  7 лет назад +1

      During night shift not really. Dinner trays would come around 5pm-6pm and my shift would start at 7pm. So by the time I got there they would be finish. During day shift people from dietary pass them out. Of course we can always help out if we have the time.
