Their suicide on the Boat always gets me. His tear , he knew what his brother was doing and accepted their fate.
Its freaking dark. It is after all a kids show. I think ive never seen straight up unaliving in a kids show before
Tarrlok knew he and his brother were damaged beyond repair. It's sad, but in a relieving kind of way.
He only wanted to end their suffering brought upon by their father
and the fact Amon almost had to know what Tarrlok was doing since he was a blood bender yet let it happen still
“Put an ending to this sad story” ....he ended up doing it himself
@@Diana-zl3ue Yep I thought the same thing.
"When we hit our lowest point, we are open to the greatest change" man that line always brings me to tears, especially seeing all the past avatars with Aang :')
Even though it makes no sense at all.
za21 that just means you haven't hit the lowest point yet..that line is a lesson in life
za21 it makes a ton of sense because it's a reskinned version of "when you hit rock-bottom, the only way is up".
I will always love LoK because we got to see grown Avatar Aang. The fact that he and the other Avatars were there at the end for Korra......and the result! I cried too!
Too bad they literally killed all the past avatars in the next season huh?
8:54 There are lots of people who think Korra was contemplating suicide here. Her tear went right over the edge, meaning she was extremely close to it. It *would* make sense, given the fact that Korra always wanted to be The Avatar. It literally defines her, and since what defines her had been taken away, it's reasonable to think she had hit such a point. Even Avatar Aang says she hit her lowest point. Really sad to think about. What's so great about Korra's villains, are how they don't just attack her physically, but they almost completely destroy her psyche. She has a ton to overcome, which makes her incredibly inspiring.
It's heartbreaking because from her point of view, she was a broken Avatar; she likely thought that the world would be much better off if she died and was reborn as an Avatar with all of their powers instead of just a fourth of it.
It's truly amazing to contemplate this possibility and link it to what happens to her after that. It's part of her journey, she does learn that she isn't just the Avatar and isn't defined by that, while she has this BURDEN, very very proud "responsability" at the beginning of book 2 that is making her sound bitchy. She evolves sooo much through the entire show. It'll take them idk how many months to get through that, but I'll follow every step because Korra's journey to self discovery is amazing. I think it's a really important show to teenagers and people who struggle to find their way through life, it helped me a lot. I'm pretty sure Nickelodeon refused the idea of making Korra's "thoughts" more obvious, but it's still a very strong message, and Aang's quote is the perfect answer to that contemplation of suicide. And still, it's also the perfect "beginning" of a journey through all the different finales of the books. Korra lost A LOT, she struggled A LOT, and yet she never thought of committing suicide ever again, she rose back every time, she did better every time. Damn I love her so much.
I feel like the show could have explained that or showed that way better. Throughout the show, we have been led to believe that korra has no connection to her spiritual side. So, to me, it is not apparent at all that korra has been unlocking her chakra points thoughtout the series to finally get to the moment where she can unlock the avatar state. it just feels like aang shows up out of nowhere and gives her the avatar state. it honestly feels like an asspull. But maybe you are right and there are evidences throughout the episodes that tie back to what guru pathik said about unlocking each chakra points. If that is true, then that is some pretty subtle but good writing on their parts.
If that's true that would make korra look extremely petty, since she still has airbending and she used it to stop Amon. I can understand she still being upset, but to go as far as suicide makes her look spoiled and completely overreacting to something she only been for about a couple days. So I don't believe that she was committing suicide cause that would make me lose respect to her.
Brandon Lyon But from the perspective that the world deserves a "complete" Avatar with full capabilities, Korra sacrificing herself so a new Avatar could be born would be selfless.

GuadGamer No he said "Iroh a boat" because Iroh sounds like I row. I hate explaining jokes.
Daniel Amundsen I know lol I mean Irohman like Ironman...because they said it...
Lol at Aang being the wingman from beyond the grave
Honestly, as cool as that moment was, I fell like it really weakened the progression in later seasons. Season 2 would've been so much better if Korra could reverse the anti-bending but had to re-learn becoming the Avatar herself, starting from air this time. Would've made for much better Raava/Aang moments.
"hey Amon, where you at?"
"Amon a boat".
i am six months late but this is hilarious!

I thought it was really interesting that Korra couldn't seem to accept or give love with regard to Mako when she didn't have her bending. It shows how much of her identity and sense of self-worth is tied to her being the Avatar (compared to Aang, who didn't want to be the Avatar). She even said that Mako didn't have to be with her because she wasn't the Avatar anymore.
Amelia N YES. I've always wanted to know more about the other Avatars and their opinions about being the Avatar. Roku pretty much lost his best friend due to being the Avatar (and Sozin's Stalin-istic tendencies) and Yangchen talked about how she couldn't fully practice being an Air Nomad bc being the Avatar took priority. But I always thought that was kind of sad in regards to Korra. Not to mention struggling with airbending this whole time along with the spiritual thing. She isn't a fully realized Avatar yet and Amon takes what she has already. It's just tragic, honestly. Hence why some people assert that Korra was contemplating suicide on the cliff.
That was really well put. Even years later I'm still learning new things about her, so awesome. Thank you!
This is so true. Korra learned she was the Avatar at what, four years old? Her entire identity up to the series' beginning has been 'Avatar Korra'. Every villain, every loss, thus hits her so painfully.
Thank you! I think the role Mako plays here is often overlooked. It's hard for Korra to wrap her mind around the concept of people valuing her if she's not the Avatar, but there Mako is, declaring that he *loves her* no matter if she's the Avatar. Talk about throwing her for a loop. I think it contributes to her acceptance on the cliff that she has more to live for than just being the Avatar, if you go with the suicidal thoughts interpretation.
redhawkmillenium I agree that unfortunately many things with LOK go overlooked by many fans (not all) because with this series theyre not gonna directly explain, it's more sophisticated writing like the crew of Blindwave even stated. and some people (not all) were used to the writing of TLAB since it was aimed toward a family audience. It's what contributes to many of the criticisms for this show for people who only see surface level.
Mako: "Korra, I love you."
Korra: "Holy shit my bending came back!"
Aang: "You hit your lowest point just now."
Mako: "...dafuq."
She hit her lowest point? That's not even close
Alberto Fleitas She did
She lost most of her power that's it, that's nothing compared to what aang went threw.
Alberto Fleitas you mean when he ran away from his destiny and doomed the world and his people? The lowest point he caused
oh my god! this took me like several seconds to understand and once i did it i laughed out loud so much! xDD
Dammit that ending with Amon and Tarlak always gives me chills. It's such a sad ending.
10:07 My personal headcanon about why Tenzin and Katara are making their respective faces is because when Korra is in the Avatar state, she’s literally all of the Avatars, so I like to believe that when she did that, Tenzin and Katara didn’t she her, they saw Aang, that’s why Tenzin is so shocked because he’s like holy shit that’s my dad meanwhile Katara just has a smile on her face because she is getting to see the love of her life again after 20+ years of him being dead, I doubt that’s canon but I choose to believe that because it just makes that scene so much better
I'm sure they thought something like that

"I liked that villain, my favorite villain in a all of Avatar"
Just you wait till you see Zaheer
Zaheer was dope, but Amon was a better villain. More compelling reason for being a “villain”, more mystique and intrigue, more interesting backstory, cooler powers. Amon is hands down the coolest and best villain in all Avatar, hands down. (My opinion ofc.)

Seriously though, these jokes take my breath away.
@ShizuruNakatsu that joke took my breath away
20:25 A lot of people make the mistake of thinking Aang gave her the ability to enter into the Avatar State, and get her bending back, but in actuality, Avatar Korra had been unlocking her Chakras throughout the entire season, rather than in one sitting, like Aang did, and her achieving that power came in the manifestation of Avatar Aang. Similar to how when Aang reconnects with the Avatar Spirit in his fight against Ozai, he sees all of the previous Avatars in The Avatar State.
So yes, Avatar Korra does have complete control over The Avatar State, but it was by no means, quickly and easy. Remember, "When we hit our lowest point, we are open to the greatest change." Korra had to hit that point.
That's bullshit. It was clearly because the season was ending and they needed to pull off one more asspull. She didn't become more spiritual. She didn't earn that air bending victory.
I'm going to go back to the Crossroads of Destiny episode arc but I wonder if she went through the chakra points one by one in the series. She let go of anger, learned patience, experienced a form of love (that's all I remember from Pathik's training) and then contemplated suicide. The crown of the forehead chakra is about letting go of everything. It's the last one and when she was close to doing it Avatar State Tech Support showed up.
I love the fact they mistaken him for Tenzin tho.
And even tho I wouldn't say her victory isn't earned, I would agree on the fact that ending Korra's journey here would have made her a very shallow character. We delved so much deeper into her with the remaining three books, she became so real and raw, that Korra ending on book 1 would have made everyone forget about the show. But she did earn her victory; we see her practising ALL THE TIME, she does work, she does put a lot of faith and hope and effort into her "destiny" as the Avatar, and that's what mattered to her. Her duty and she almost lost everything because of that, because of her self-sacrificing "duty" of helping people, because that's what the Avatar is about (and I love that, at some point(s), they do adress that).
When she was unlocking chakras? I didnt got that
Final Account if Aang werent there she wouldn't have that so you Can say e did it
I'm not crying! You're Crying!
PONG I never cried but the one moment that almost hit me was the book 3 finale at the every end.

Would you mind naming these episodes?
probably beginnings
YES YES YES YES
*cough* 7 *cough*
It goes downhill from here. Season 3 was good but season 4 makes the show end on a poor note.
I really love the scene of the bloodbending brothers on the boat as well. It's so incredibly tragic... but fitting all the same. They got to end their own story. I always saw Noatak's tear as a sign that he was sad about everything that went wrong, and he probably felt partially guilty for turning his little brother into this man. I think they both knew it needed to end, but Tarrlok was the one acting on it. My face when that happened was definitely Calvin's face here. Damn. Now I'm sad all over again.
I think it's implied that Korra has an easier time accessing the Avatar state this early because of her mastery of the elements and her spiritual journey coming to her at such a low point where she was very open to it. Don't think that means she's mastered it, but you know. You can open a lot of Chakra's without showing it as a fancy animation, I guess. :P
I mean, I think the point this show is trying to make is that the spiritual and the physical are not two separated things. Yes, Amon did bloodbending, probably 'physical', but that still affects the spiritual. As you said, Aang unlocked a chakra by getting hit in a pressure point.
I'm so glad that you guys were so hyped about this finale. It can be seen as a bit rushed, due to them having to wrap it up in one go, but I think it really works even so. Glad you guys seemed to have a blast with it. And I'm so happy we don't have to wait long but can just go straight into book 2 after this. Hype.
I forgot that Amon died like that, that was crazy. That is so intense for a "kid show".
i know its a bit late but yeah really a "kids show" has a murder-suicide
@@gizmo12055 ATLA and LoK both have plenty of scenes that really push the limits of still being considered a childrens show. I mean, blood bending has been fukn horrifying since the first time it was seen in the series
Watch the "kid shows" from the 90s. They kill people ALL the time.

What I really like is that Korra is using Air Bending in a much more offensive way by punching waves of airs rather than slashes.
Hell, the fact that she does the same for Fire Bending, and did an uppercut once with Water Bending is a nice touch.
back streets back ALRIGHT
Can you say villain phonecall?
It cannot be overstated how amazing the OSTs to these series are.
Eric you aren't wrong. You and many people at the time, myself included, felt the romance in Korra was very weak. It felt like some form of consolation for those that wanted Katara with Zuko in the original series. It's probably a product of the presumed series length but the romance was rushed, all over the place, and felt more cultivated than how naturally Aang and Katara's relationship progressed. Not once did I feel like Korra and Mako genuinely loved each other. It felt more like Korra the country girl had a crush on Mako the good-looking city boy. Some people even blamed Pema for the whole mess because she was the one who got it into Korra's head to chase after Mako even though he was with another girl, just like she did with Tenzin. You can just see the "oh, shit this is my fault" look on her face when Mako and Asami started fighting in the kitchen over Korra's tea. Pema is not a good role model.
Jesica Techera Hey hey the way the show went with Katara and Aang's romance was good, we'd have no Tenzin or no Bumi without it
they planned korra and asami from very early on but everything else became so tangled because nick didn't want to let them be gay for eachother
The fact this show has a murder-suicide in it...holy crap. Seriously one of the darkest things to show people. Most BLOCKBUSTER films don't cover suicide...let alone suicide after escape. If it is used, it's done to avoid capture or something. He did it...because he couldn't live with himself after the things he did.
I love how genuine these reactions are. Seeing Calvin and Eric tearing up when Korra went Avatar State was really cool.
I really liked this finale, so many cool parts like when Aang brings back the bending and the avatar state theme. But man that was brutal the way the boat just exploded, it really makes this more than a kids show. I am glad you all enjoyed this season and I look forward to your reaction to season 2.
Yup.
Brutal.
Nahid: "This is naat a kids show dude!"
Season 2 starts off a bit rough. Harder to watch, yes. But Korra's behaviour is pretty typical of teenagers in very stressful situations. She still has a lot to learn. With that in mind, it's really not that bad.
While I do agree, it's kind of a backwards move on her to act so bitchy after this season. That Includes other characters (without spoiling anything about them) if you know what I mean. But that's just me though.
Unalaq doesn't get any better though, in fact I think he gets worse and worse as the season goes on.
Yeah. The story was strong though. Unalaq as a villain and some of the writing was what made book 2 bad for me. The character interactions and development was good, albeit slightly annoying.
Meh Typical Teenager Stories are boring..Aang was the G. He was a 12 year old boy who had to learn all the elements in one summer and defeat the firelord dictator..Now that's a Hype Story.
there's definitely some really strong water benging fight scenes in season 2, and I did like how they explored civil war and post amon republic city with president raiko not willing to help. I think the side stories were a lot better than the main villian story in season 2, I mean I didn't hate watching it, but definitely didn't glue me to my seat like the other 3 seasons did.
Calvins reaction to when Talook did what he did... Yea, I was the same way dude !
Maybe season two itself isn't that good but it has a lot of good points .... more avatar lore, more Bolin, Varrick, Zhu Li, do the thing, more Jinora, more of Aang's family (and i just can write these without big spoilers). It's definitely worth it.
That's right but i love Bolin and Jinora and that's what they'll give us from now on. Will be awesome.
exactly. Part of what people disliked about it is the partial regression especially of korra. But that was needed to an extend as the show had to essentially reboot itself to become a series (After S1 Nickelodeon ordered S2,3 and 4.)
But yeah this is a bit of Filler season that sets up so much: Characters, lore, and also Korras personal Path as the avatar.
Though and thats one complain: I never really liked the new spirit design they did.
The back half of Book 2 is incredible!
The end of season 2 isn't that bad, but the story telling for Wan was terrible.
Doesn't season 2 have Avatar Wan? Those two episodes were some of the best in Avatar. I hope Shane recognizes Wan's voice actor. It's somebody he really likes. Other than that season 2 is garbo.
By making you wait so long for her to reach the avatar state it made that moment so satisfying... until mako came back on screen
“I haven’t written a single thing this whole episode.” That’s the power of Korra! Y’all had such great reactions this season and I’m so excited for season 2!
Looking forward to the reaction on this one. Korra has a lot of story develops going forward that are... interesting. Whether the crew feel positive or critical towards it, it allows me to relive and strengthen my passion for Avatar. Particularly through Eric's enthusiasm. This is what RUclips reactions are all about.
The SHOCKING ending BLOWED everyones mind. Also rip to the strongest bender ever alive.
One more thing, I'm so glad there are 4 more people who love this show. There are many who hate it and I never got why. Nevertheless, this is a great show and I'm happy that some people can appreciate that.
Daniel R the majority enjoy Korra, the hateful minority are just a lot more vocal about their opinion.
Ah, that makes sense since the fans did demand more seasons after books 1 and 2.
I aggree that most people don't hate Korra... it's more that a lot of people were really dissapointed that it is not as good as the original series. I was also really put of at first, because I expected more of Avatar and got something quite different. Doesn't mean I think Korra is bad... I would say its alright and has some really nice connections to the original. I aspecielly loved the story of the first Avatar in season 2. I stopped watching after season 2 though. I guess it never really captivated me like the original. I defenitly plan to rewatch the first seasons though and then continue with season 3 and 4 soon... maybe it will change my opinion on it :)
I hated it for a long time. I watched the first couple episodes and it always felt wrong and forced. I came back to it several years later and enjoyed it more. I recognize why I disliked it but am glad it gets better now I've seen it
Very excited to see them react to the rest of the show, I love parts of season 2, but seasons 3 and 4 are what I'm super excited for, those are where the show really shines imo
She released her airbending because of fear BUT he couldn't take it because she never learned it 🤷♂️

Lmao this made me laugh at laud
Shane this IS the cartoon where people die. Korra is so good and what is coming ... just can't wait.

Lol Why? Noatak, Tarrlok, Yakone and the mother died. It's that a spoiler at this point? Or maybe you don't like Korra? If that's it ... meh (?)
kaakeli laatotus They don't read this. Their editors do
It's not like people didn't die in the original.
seriously, this show gets really dark, especially later on
"I now see that there's *no chance* to save you!!" Yeah, I'd say Hiroshi was trying to kill Asami. He deserves the "worst father in the history of fathers" award as well.
I loved when Korra finally unlocked her airbending! After already losing her bending, she was basically "nothing" now but as soon as she saw Mako was in danger, she just got up and fought on. It reminded me of when the airbending movements really started clicking for her. She was pushed to the edge and had nowhere else to go, but she pushed forward and finally opened herself to change and really applied the teachings. The same kind of happened here and later when she connected to her spiritual side. She accepted the reality she was now in and tried to deal with it and thus, she was able to connect to a more emotional and spiritual side to herself.
I also agree with Shane. Bloodbending I think is more physical than spiritual. It's more like chi-blocking (but more permanent) than energybending. Here, I think Amon just fucked her chi paths that much to the point where it was beyond repair for even the best of healers. Energybending at this point would be the only solution to restoring her bending ...or perhaps bloodbending itself.
Your faces when the murder-suicide happened was on point! Tarrlok finally "put an end to this sad story".
Oh yeah, the Mako/Korra romance was pretty forced when you really think about it. Mako showed no romantic interest in Korra at all until E5 when he all of a sudden has feelings for her. Before that, it was pretty much one-sided with Korra having a crush and Mako just thinking she's cool. In the end, Asami really drew the short end of the stick for this whole thing.
Anyways, I'm glad you enjoyed this season finale and I can't wait for next season!!
Lalisa T
Her gaining airbending was garbage. She did not become an ounce more spiritual the entire season which was her whole issue. She got it for conveniences sake.
Its fucking stupid she had it at all. Just because she couldn't figure out to use airbending yet (because she wasn't and isn't spiritual whatsoever) doesn't mean she didn't have the aptitude for it. But for some reason Amon couldn't block that chi path coz...reasons?
Legend of Korra is honestly a cesspool of bad writing and logic
LuminaryPrism75 Her unlocking her airbending was inevitable by the end of S1 though. It was what was being built up to the whole time. In this moment, she was stripped of her bending and was left in a very low and vulnerable place. Then as soon as she saw her friend about to meet the same fate, she got up, accepted her reality and fought on to save her friend. That was when she unlocked it (with arguably the help of Amon as well). I also disagree about Korra not becoming a bit more spiritual as the season went on. Ever since her encounter with Amon the first time, she had slowly matured and focused on that side of her. Just look at the way she handled the whole Mako-Asami thing and even overall issues when it came to her duties. Yes, she had moments where she was still hotheaded and reckless but change doesn't happen overnight. As for her spiritual side, she's been trying more and in "Out of the Past", she finally succeeded in contacting Aang in some way. At the end, her accepting her new reality despite said reality not having bending anymore was what I saw as the moment she finally connected with her spiritual self. It was a moment of spiritual self-awareness born out of emotional vulnerability. I'll also argue that Amon may have helped in unlocking Korra's airbending as well. I don't think it was just a mental block for Korra when it came to airbending. After E2, imo she should've been able to start at least airbending a little seeing as she finally changed her overall mindset (kind of like how Aang changed his mindset when it came to earthbending). After the teachings clicked, it should've but it didn't so that tells me it wasn't just a mental block.
LOK a cesspool of bad writing and logic? I disagree. At this point, I'd usually get into it but spoilers.
You allegedly hate this show so much but you stay posted on reaction videos to talk about it. That's rather embarrassing.
Jude Robinson I don't get that at times. I've actually met a few people who absolutely hate LOK but still call themselves fans. I don't get how those two work. Yes, you can criticize things even though you're a fan but to completely hate the show and see no redeeming qualities yet still be a fan doesn't make sense.
As far as bad fathers go there are plenty worse just google Gambino from Berserk if you aren't faint of heart.
I'm so glad you guys watched this show! It's always going to be one of my favorites!
Ok, after giving this some thought to what Eric said. To paraphrase: It's the Avatars that are giving back the powers, or that Aang knows how to {insert ability}. I respectfully disagree.
She was about to commit suicide (tear falling of the edge there are videos to support this) and Aang said she was at her lowest and open to the greatest change.
The past Avatars are just spiritual connections of past lives. When Aang touched Korra it was symbolic of Korra connecting to her spiritual side of bending and finally able to enter the needless to say EPIC AVATAR STATE! It wasn't Aang returning her powers. Korra is The Avatar, and I believe she is benefiting from the knowledge of past incarnations.
GREAT SEASON! GREAT JOB GUYS! See you on the GOT reactions.
No problem with that whatsoever. I will admit I had a hard time not comparing the two shows and the both Avatars. It took several attempts to watch the series and let The Legend of Korra stand on its own merits and not in the shadow of Aang
Love the little animation detail of Naga waging his/her tail when Bayfong gets her bending back!
10:05 I was more focused on Katara. Imagine, nearly 20 years without Aang, and now that Korra unlocked avatar state, she is channeling Aang as well as past avatars. Katara knows that, which is why shes so proud, she knows thats Aang.
*IM NOT CRYING YOURe CRYING*
Watching you guys react to this season just reminded me how amazing this show is. I watched the part with Aang like five times. I get chills ever time. Also, if I remember correctly the creators said the scene with Mako and Asami where Mako said he still cares for her was supposed to be their break up. It just didn't really come across well enough.
Every time i see tarrlok and noatak i always feel that ping of sadness for them even now after i'm old from when i first watch it it's still their
When I saw her eyes light up I almost cried because avatar has been with me my entire childhood and see that just reminded me of the last airbender
the restoration of bending was taught to korra by aang when he restored her bending so now she can do it by herself. the eyes lighting up is just korra drawing upon the spiritual side
I'm glad you enjoyed this season! They pretty much just keep getting better (especially the villains). I'm super excited to see how you react to everything

I have just now finished watching season 1 and watching these reactions along with it. Many people say this show is bad or at least not as good as the original. But I got to say, after just having finished it. Season 1 just is fricking gold!
"More satisfying than the Lion Turtles..." Ohhhh, I can't wait for them to watch Avatar Wan.
I made it in that little window between the last episode being published on RUclips and the Private patreon video. That's the void. The most depressing point of my day lmao
I am there too, I feel lied to. They said the new ep is on Patreon... but I just came from there and there wont be nother one for a week. AHHH I love they do it once a week Its perfect (52 eps for an entire year run) Gives time to think and ponder and each episode the thought and weight they deserve. especially in later seasons I hated how Nickelodeon pushed out the episodes so fast.
I wish I could just be a year ahead now and Binge their reactions :3
Great discussion guys! I was so excited to hear your thoughts about the finale. On to season two!
Just like the good old days.... :,D
And actually no spoilers but only the first one was self contained. Nick approved additional episodes for the next 3 seasons just before or just after this one aired.
They greenlit season 2, wanted more episodes than Bryke had slated and didn't want to pay the animators thennnn finally purchased seasons 3 and 4. I remember the "WHY DOES THE ANIMATION LOOK DIFFERENT" fiasco when s2 came out.
You guys have the best reactions lmao. I couldn't stop laughing at Calvin and Eric the whole time. "I'm not crying, you're crying." 😂😂😂😂
Love it. Looking forward to Book 2, to see what they think. Not a perfect season but I still loved it the first time around.
2:45-2:50 Actually Tenzin it the youngest. It's Bumi, Kya (the sister/water bender), and Tenzin.
I cant wait for season 2.
The music at the end literally gives me chills and makes me tear up EVERY TIME 🥰
Season 2 Varrick HYPE!
That scene with tarrlok and amon fleeing the scene on that speedboat was tragically beautiful...
*JUST LIKE THE GOOD O’L DAYS*
Noatak: "Hey Tarrlok?"
Tarrlok: "Yes?"
Noatak: "Amon a boat..."
Tarrlok "....."
*BOOM*
I'll never understand how so many people completely misread the ending between Noatok and Tarrlok - Noatok shed a tear because he was reunited with his brother and escaping and they had apologized to one another. Tarrlok then references the good old days, saying it'll be just like back when they were kids (which he mentioned to Korra and Mako earlier in the same episode). He cried out of sentimentality, remembering what he had lost DECADES ago and what, he thought, he was recovering but Tarrlok had had enough. He had even told Korra that she needed to bring and end to their sad story - she failed to but he had another chance... and he took it.
Y'all i really can't wait for just 1 episode a week. You guys need to start watching 2 episodes a week or something. 😂😭
IIsYouAndYouIsMe good things come to those who wait patiently
Aurora Unit ZAC but it was never that deep tho 👍😂
you guys are gonna love the next 3 season and i can’t wait to see you guys react!!!
Thank God you guys uploaded a reaction. The Normies disappointed us by not uploading theirs this week, but you didn't, lol.
M A F I A BOSS what are you talking about? They uploaded an Avatar reaction the other day. Just not the usual two episode upload.
You guys are going to love season 2. It introduces some awesome stuff that I never thought was possible. You. Have. Been. Warned.
Crazy how everyone was like "Korra sucks, don't do it; it's a waste" in the beginning now everyone in the comment section is like can't wait for yous to watch season 2. Like I always loved Korras series but where's all the haters at now? Lol
They're still lurking
They probably dont watch the reactions. You really didnt think about that?
Korra Sucks
JK
season 2 sucks
@@ThePunikaTV They watch reactions all the time, you can find them in these comments. Would have saved you the time of looking like a dipshit if you had.
You guys are going to loovvee S2.
"I'm not crying! You're crying!"
I'm like, who's cutting onions!
7:36 incredible how we can love a character within five seconds of meeting said character
Not now Tenzen ! Oh fuck...
The way I saw it was Amon took away bending by reworking their body or something, essentially messing with their chi so he PHYSICALLY took away bending while aang SPIRITUALLY took away bending.
As for Korra airbending think they’d said earlier that korra had memorised/practiced the forms and techniques but still couldn’t airbend. So that’s why she was able to fight well with it when it came to her.
Seeing that Season 2 of Korra had stirred up a bit of controversy with it's characters, motives, Deus Ex Machina, and for the typical romance drama, it's gonna be interesting to see how these guys will contemplate on the 2nd season. I'm thinking they are gonna like most of it regardless because of their love of the show (and especially the lore), but who knows. I think Eric and Calvin are probably gonna get a bit annoyed at the romance though. I can already see it lmaoo
Great reaction! Can't wait for season 3 ;)
On the subject of blocking bending physically versus spiritually, the Guru's words come to mind "Things which appear separate are really one and the same".
14:52 On both sides of the spectrum you can have good or bad Villians. In the case of morally complex villains like Amon it can lead to really amazing Villians and make us question our heroes, however there is also this relationship between hero and Villians to think of; Morally white heroes who are shown to be completed good guys, like Korra can end up looking hypocritical if the villain continues to oppose them. Amon was a liar but from his brother we learned that he was genuine in his belief that bending was a source of inequality and evil that he sought to fight. Korra on the other hand never even mentions inequality between benders and non benders and just seems to ignore the very real issues that led to Amon gaining such large support in the first place. Opposite to that we have situations were the Villan remaining opposed to the hero despite moral complexities can come off as stupid forced drama.
Well said. You can say Amon is a grey character
I wonder if Amon cried at the end out of happiness or because he heard his brother put on that electric glove and was ok with whatever Tarrlok was going to do to him.
Mako x Korra feels forced for me
Belrevan Makorra》Plot basically lol
Well, I don't want to post Spoilers or anything, but....
Oh, fuck it, I'll give just a hint: there is a reason Makorra felt forced, and we'll know it by the end of _Legend of Korra_.
everything is forced on mako
im surprised they didn't react to her contemplating suicide scene. She was thinking of jumping off the edge and killing herself because she couldn't bend anymore, which meant she was like a broken avatar. She thought that if she died, then the next avatar would be born.
I don't care what others say season 2 of Korra is one of my favourite seasons from the whole avatarverse. Can't wait for the crew's reaction
agreed
Agreed.
I just felt like Korra was being dumb throughout most of it and not trusting Tenzin, but trusting the shadiest guy out there
ThatAussieGirl it was ok but yeah it was definitely the weakest season. Season 3 far surpasses it.
Unalaq is still the worst villain of the series though.
The guy voicing Tarrlok also does Pabu, Naga, Momo, and Appa. He's fantastic.
He also voiced Bumi (Aang’s son)
I really enjoyed the finale with the exception of Korra instantly mastering the avatar state. You might be disappointed with a few things in book 2, but book 3 and 4 more than make up for the bad stuff.
And getting all her bending back and energybending.
most people dont mind the bending back including blind wave lol and yes i am everywhere in the comments :P
Avatar Korra had been unlocking her Chakras throughout the entire season, rather than in one sitting, like Aang did, and her achieving that power came in the manifestation of Avatar Aang.
*+Final Account* That sounds more like a head canon tbh but I'll buy it.
Yisus Craist It's not head-canon... It's literally what the show is showing us.
Just rewatched the first episode of season 2 and I think these guys are going to like it. Not just because it introduces some fun new characters but since they've been reacting to another show lately I'm sure they'll recognize the voice of one of them!
24:52 Asumi...Blind Wave and names : /
Have you guys read the Avatar comics???
My personal theory on Amon's bloodbending and Korra's airbending: The original series established that bending is essentially people with the ability to control their chi, channeling it in specific ways to control the elemts as they observed from natural benders like badgermoles or the moon (this is most clearly delineated when Iroh is teaching Zuko about redirecting lightning). If benders learn to tunnel their chi in ways that enable them to bend, then it is possible Amon is simply using bloodbending to block these natural chi pathways. In Korra's case, there were already three established chi pathways for controlling fire, water, and earth that Amon detected and blocked. In the absence of these pathways, Korra's chi was able to freely flow down new channels and created a new pathway through her body that enabled airbending. Because this channel was not present when Amon took her bending, it was not blocked.
Time for the season I disliked the most, but it was still good nonetheless. Season 2 also contains one of the best story arcs of Avatar imo
oh my god I love just how fucking much they loved this
Season 2 was the most eh
In the book 1 commentary, the creators explained when amon took korras bending, he was only able to find just the 3 and not air. So he was only able to sever just those three, and air was still hidden for korra to unlock.
Aang did learn avatar state at a very young age. Korra is much older.
You can thank his spiritual side for that
Those same tears of joy I had all those years ago were once again flowing today! Master tear bender here 💖💖💖💖
