Hey guys please checkout my patreons page for more videos. I will be releasing regular content for patreons only (first 100 patreons get in for 10$). I will continue on youtube as usual of course but will also be going on patreon for some extra weekly content. I will also be releasing a instructional video out soon so if you like my style of teaching please stay tuned. www.patreon.com/bePatron?c=1640273
I thoroughly enjoy these arresting positions, control is undervalued in martial arts. Reflex's and aggression get all the buzz for the drama they evoke, while control is the antithesis of drama and so is only appreciated by those who wish to wield it.
Keep the videos coming, Firas! These bjj technique vids have been really helping me in my own training. So grateful to have the internet. Being able to learn from one of the greatest minds in MMA while being in a country across the world is a privilage 🙏
Clicked on this as soon as I got the notification. And yes, liked the video at the beginning just incase i forget. Huge fan of your content from India, kudos to you for providing world class videos for free.
Love this stuff. You do an outstanding job of bringing techs to us that work in all forms of combat. I can see why tristar produces so many great fighters.
I use the inverted triangle / kimura combo every day :D I have another way I like to finish, though, and it goes like this: after wrapping up the triangle, I shift my body so that I face his back, and I grab a hold of the leg on the side where his head is trapped (the opposite side leg than the arm caught in the triangle) around the hip. From there I arch my back, it's a sure thing every time.
6ft2 flyweight if you wanna help me beat dj haha ;) love the vids coach I pick up a lot of extra details which haven't been covered in the classes I've been to, literally adding to my game on a daily basis!! You're the man
Thanks a lot will experiment with the north south kimura and that inverted triangle. Coach can you also please explain how you got that arm triangle from the back I’ve seen other people do it but can’t figure out how
great video! is the "silver fox squeeze" appliable to any other submission than triangles and chokes? could you use that concept of bringing you limbs together as far as possible at other submission e.g. armbar?
I train under Silver Fox and I could tell you that Fox absolutely teaches bringing your limbs together in other positions and submissions. Watch the other videos with Firas and Fox and you'll see it explained far better than I could type it out here. One particular moment Fox talks about this exact concept is when they're talking about a position that Firas refers to as the shotgun grip where you control your opponent's arm under your armpit.
Great video and great details. When I am trying this position on my training partners with the Silver Fox squeeze I am getting the tap but they are saying they are tapping from a weird type of shoulder compression pressure rather than a choke. Is this supposed to be a choke or am I missing something? It seems difficult to close off both arteries doe to the nature of the leg configuration
Thanks for the video Firas! Could you please make a video on how to survive when your opponent has you completely flattened out in back mount? Especially in MMA situations like the finish in the Rockhold vs Branch fight. It’s probably the worst position an MMA fighter can be in, so I’d like to hear your thoughts on how to deal with it.
the part where the you mentioned that your hip and head sopould be above your opponents, it must be the opposite when applying leglocks, right?? Thanx..
Inverted triangle, particularly from turtle, was a really cool move. I actually thought your opponents escape from the arm triangle was more amazing though. Really slick escape.
Coach how do you feel about finishing the Arm Triangle from Mount? Henry Akins and Eddie Bravo both seem to prefer it as it leaves very little room for escape vs stepping off to the side.

Hey Firas,
How often do you plan on putting out videos on patreon? I’m definitely interested in this

You couldn't be more right about the control aspect.
there is no noun after reflex's to show your reflexes are possessing anything
