This video is 6 mins long and I've been watching it on 1/2 speed for 40 mins.... And I still learn new details each time i watch it. Damn you, JiuJitsu, you infinitely awesome martial art.
There is a difference between Training in the Martial Arts and Becoming a Martial Artist. You Sir, are a Martial Artist. Very Inspiring!!!!!!!!!!! Well done.
I've watched this 20+ times (purple belt UK) and it seriously is the best series of jujitsu vids on RUclips. I've known and used the kimura many times but this has gave me whole new perspective. Thank you.
Started my journey in 2003 but let a business venture get in the way. Working on my purple belt now from the absolute best, and I still love watching Roy Dean. I am a teacher and watching him translate information / teach is humbling. I would consider moving out to his area for awhile and learning from him. Subscribed
„Fixation can backfire“ most Important quote for beginners who want to learn how to attack properly. Knowing what you doing next while your Opposition only thinking about the escape ist the equivalent of tempo and forced moves in Chess.
Who are the ppl that dislike this and why? This is a really good overview of how to apply the Kimura in a vast number of situations. I wonder if it is because some people don't understand the mechanics or they just don't like grappling or something? I don't feel like there is much if anything to criticize from a technical standpoint.
Roy Dean is a Straight Boss I have studied his entire collection, his philosophy and tech is world class and has helped my game tremendously This is a personal youtube fav
Roy, I want to thank you so much for the awesome vid on the Kimora. I was taught how to apply it, but WOW, your vid really really opened my eyes to the many different ways to catch an opponent in the technique. Can’t wait to start practicing them during our rolls! Again, much thanks!!
Watching the smoothness of these even on a non-resisting opponent is amazing. I'm a brand new white belt and having just learned the Kimura and a triangle choke--those two videos opened my eyes to the stuff I've been missing. Of course, watching it is way easier than pulling it off in muscle memory during a roll. I've been watching others roll in my class and see these opportunities from the outside very easily the more I watch and compare. Thanks for these videos.
If u did like u don't understand jiu jitsu Roy dean your s genius . My professor was a afflicted when he was at front range bjj. Now he is a Dean lister black belt. Roy you are the man.
YES!!!! More videos like this. So knowledgeable - It is amazing to have insight into the depths of Jiu-jitsu. You think you know a little and then the art blows your mind all over again.
I love how you explain everything in such detail. I can tell you are very passionate about bjj. Thanks for making these videos I really enjoy watching them =]
Videos like these make it so much more fun to watch the groundgame in MMA matches! Thanks alot for the info and making me understand more and more about whats going on
I just watched the triangle and now the Kimura. Pleas do more of these white to black belt. I’m learning ju jitsu by watching g only in japan. As my ju jitsu Japanese is t so good. And these two videos I think will be very helpful. Domo arigato gozainous Dean-san!
very technical videos,in Judo we first learn the Ude Garami (Kimura) from the mount position, you are an Artist grappler and your application of the moves is straight forward like in Judo and not like other BJJ where their enteries require many manoeuvres to achieve a technique and that's why i like your approach(simple and effective),a big thanks for a Nidan Judoka for sharing your knowledge with us grapplers.
When you're a white belt and realize how nice everyone has been to you rolling and not putting you in constant kimuras 😆
everybody is nice to white belts for the most part
kurtis vollert except for other white belts lol
True haha
@@TehNiCoLaS And the testy blues!

Roy Dean is a great philosopher

Omg that is so true. Hoho
this can be used as a beautiful assay to showcase the technical, intricate appeal of martial arts. very nice work

Hands down, best instructional series on RUclips. Great job Roy. Uso.
Dean videos are so inspiring and philosophycal that I always get much much more than technic was looking for...
I have to admit as a white belt, I disregarded the kimura because people saw it coming and it was obvious. I have a lot to learn
