FTR: I'm just a girl, standing in front of a mirror, asking it to care about itself. Хобби
What I’m doing to elevate my self care is gratitude journaling, art, more sleep, cooking healthy meals for my family, hikes/walks, home schooling my kiddo, reading or listening to audiobooks, meditation, extra skin care, zoom & FaceTime with family & Telehealth therapy.
I was so happy to see you mention taking care of plants. I'm without a dog for the first time in nearly 20 years. In January I went out and bought plants for every room in my house. That’s what brings me comfort right now, too. I talk to them and take care of them; they really do help fill that void 😊 🌱
Ellen Brenneman Studio Yes!
Proud Louzer here from Fairbanks Alaska. Roller skating around kitchen & living room (ok mom, I'm a grown up so you can't yell at me). Baking alot, yoga as usual. I have a big library (books & DVDS). Splitting wood. Already a minimalist & OCD on cleaning! Bath, wow haven't had one in years. Thanks for the reminder. See you on your next video lovely Lady, bye👍💖😘
I baked chocolate chip cookies tonight! You are our self care...your videos are not only entertaining but a good stress reliever! Love the hot tub or people soup comment lol
Excellent timing for this content.
Yesterday was my overwhelm day. Just out of the blue....or the article about the nurse who died?! I dunno I literally had a few years coming out of my eyes but still felt disassociated. Today I walked. The 30 more day thing just got to me!
That’s funny! I DID clean out my silverware drawer a couple days ago and lined it with contact paper. Just the silverware drawer I haven’t done any of the rest... lol
I also deep cleaned the fish tank.
Exercise to relieve stress!!
Hi Lou! In my country the quarantine is mandatory, and I live in an apartment. I can only go outside.. to the balcony, imagine that. I never thought how much I would miss walking on the park.
Cleaning/organizing makes me sick to my stomach too. Same, I’m all or nothing. So it needs to be amazing, or I don’t want to do it. My closet/shoes/makeup all need organizing and cleaning, but I cannot, for the life of me, start that journey. It’s too much!!!!😫
And I have way too much I want to keep, with not enough room.
Magical Muse I’m not miserable, I’m perfectly happy. I just don’t want to organize my closet, and last I checked, you aren’t my mommy. Go somewhere else with your preaching, people like you just want to hear yourself talk. I’m sure your life is perfectly organized in every way, so that you feel justified in policing comments. Get a life please.
Magical Muse What's wrong with you?
Currently having my breakfast on the patio, soaking up some sunshine before it gets too warm for my skin. I am forcing myself to deep clean the kitchen and dining room today. It's kind of neglected! But I am keeping myself busy with puzzles, cricut projects, painting rocks for a local hide rocks group. Would love to zoom or text with you! I really have no life. Ha!! Stay safe and same! Love you, Lou! 💛 #1 Louzer😉
Thx Lou!🌺
I have a morning and night routine of cleansing my face and brushing my teeth. I have afternoon tea while reading a book and I crochet at night while watching my favorite episodes of Doctor Who. I've also rediscovered my vinyl collection and have a me, myself, and I dance party. Most importantly tho, I get dressed every day. It's the cheesiest thing, but something about putting on pants that are different from what I wore to bed makes me feel productive. Sweat pants, jeans, cargo khakis, doesn't matter. Putting on pants helps me feel like I accomplished something.
Great video as always 💕✨💕
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Namaste yoga! Thank you for all your ideas....off to take a bath!
One of the self care things I like to do is listen to Eclectic 24, a radio program on 89.9 KCRW. The music is beautiful and usually music I haven’t heard before.
Self care for me: While working from home, once an hour I crank up the music and sing like no one is listening (because it would be really embarrassing if they were)! It’s that or scream. I particularly like “Oh what a night!” and “Billionaire”.
I had a really bad day yesterday, so this is exactly what I needed today. Thank you for being real and genuine 🥰
Our weather has been pretty gloomy. I bought a rebounder before all this happened and am becoming a master at using it. Next year I am going to need 3 weeks to do my spring cleaning, this year has spoiled me. 😂💖
Hi. Just found your channel while looking for positive things on social media. my morning routine to start my day with a calmness is 3 to 4 sessions of Wim Hoff breathing before I get out of bed which I just found about 3 weeks ago. It's wonderful. I then jump on my rebounder (mini trampoline) for about 30 minutes and then continuing the Wim Hoff method I take a shower and gradually turn it to cold for about 10-15 seconds. I also do yoga daily and have started listening to some meditations for fear/anxiety. I am working from home and I find, for me, I have to keep a routine so I still do my hair, get dressed (casual but not p.j's). I'm in Florida and the weather is nice now so I do get out for an hour or two a day just to sit in my backyard in the sun and read a book or just close my eyes and listen to the birds. As far as the news/social media. Sometimes I will go completely off for a day or two just to be able to feel a "normal".
I just found your channel and I love it!! Your sarcasm is above par. 😀❤
Great video 👌 Love ya Lou 🤗💕
Lou, I am in Stockholm Sweden and my mental health is nearly destroyed. It is business as usual here and people are dropping like flies now but the government just says "many people will die, wash your hands". I am so stressed and at times I need to cry to just let it all out.
I work in a school here in Stockholm, lots of coughing all around me everday...i use so much hand sanitizer it is unreal because I feel so panicked.
Wish us luck here, stay healthy!!
@Jay Holland we NEVER had quarintine. It has always been business as usual. That is why Sweden has been scolded by Italy and Germany.
The gov't in Sweden believes in herd immunity, but everyday they are backpeddaling now. Schools have never been closed but so many children and teachers have become ill. I work at a school of 900 and around 300 students and half the personnel are not here. There is no real social distancing, it is only a reccomendation. They said if you feel good, visit your elderly, but if you dont feel well, dont. NOW the government realizes a large part of the population can carry the virus but still feel fine. The elderly are dying now.😪
I had to rewind the video to make sure I heard you correctly. I busted out laughing when you said "people soup" when you referenced a hot tub. Thank you for this laugh....I needed it today!!!! :)
Hey Lou! This is my normal so coping great here. Missing son (my only) who is sheltering in place and working online in Denver. A long ways from Detroit. Being like me makes things easier but being told to stay home is almost worth the mass effort to get up in my chair and go out. I'm so glad I'm lazy... LOL I am keeping my daily routine up and hope all the best for you and all the fans in #Louzernation... Take care all stay safe & blessed! xoxo
I took a bath right before I watched this, it’s always my reward after finishing some task. I’m very anxious but actually looking forward to this down time. Tomorrow, I think I’ll skip the news and put together some packages I’ve been meaning to send to some family members. Also, years ago I used to keep up with a friend through letters, actual handwritten letters, wouldn’t that be fun to start again?
Another thing I am going to look into is studying a language again, I had two years of Spanish in college, 30+ years ago, maybe it’ll be just like riding a bike, speaking of which, doesn’t that sound fun?
Take care, Lou, take care of you.
:)
I agree, love to hand write letters. I started practicing my Spanish, French, Flemish, etc. by calling old friends. It's fun to call at 1 or 2am to Belgium. Practice your Spanish, you'll love it and many people near you probably speak it to. Good luck!
As for the bath suggestion, I like to add Epsom salt. I find it gives me the closest approximation to an actual massage.
Thanks lou!
As a single person completely alone, other than my cat (who is completely sick of me) it's pretty hard to be stuck inside. I do go for walks 5 days a week, which helps. I am still working from home, with at least another 2 months of being inside (screaming).
I love being alone, but I like the choice lol
I’m a new subscriber. Last night actually. I love you! You crack me up! I wish we lived closer because you and I would get along GREAT! It’s all getting to me too! I can’t wait to go sit down at a restaurant and have dinner!
I did you knife trick with my hair....I liked it!!! PS:I love you
Yay!
💚💚💚
Today was my bad day! We moved last week so I was very focused on that. Now we are living in a hotel until our new house is ready! I feel very lost. Thankfully we are able to go to my husband’s office during the day but it is all mentally taxing. I am a home stager and this is normally my busy time and I am missing it!
My standard life has been 'quarantine' for years now thanks to physical/mental illness with a generous sprinkle of agoraphobia; my tips are: do fun youtube exercise/dance videos; do 1000 steps (7 min of marching) every hour for 10 hours a day (=10.000 steps); turn on the tv/radio/fave album for company all day if you need to (no news channels); use your daydreaming skills from your childhood - imagine you are a celebrity/actress/singer and go about your day as that person - go on (high) fashion websites to choose with clothes you'd buy for which occasion (wedding/MET gala/divorce settlement etc), which mansions you'd buy, what furniture you'd have .... ; go vegan! - it forces you, in a very fun way, to learn to cook, to try out new recipes, new ingredients, watch lots of videos on the topic, educate yourself on nutrition, foods from all around the world .... And just take it one day at a time. I'm in it for life, like thousands out there so maybe count your blessings as well. Be kind, love love love!
I have been taking a lots of baths it has help a lot sometimes you need some time to yourself😃
I am taking good care of my hair of all things .....and of course my daughter.😀Keep your chin up and btw you look great with glasses.
Awwww love ya 🥰🥰🥰🥰 what else ya doing haaa ...I’m actually working... I’m in LE, watching ya at work ha
Gardening and raising new chicks. Which I’m not quite sure is self care as it’s exhausting. Lol😂
Love your videos!!!! Funny, kind, informative. Was this video before adopting Karen?
For self care, I’m doing yoga teacher training and LOTS of gardening & home projects.
CNN is the WORST for stress, girl! I read news that doesn't sprinkle the facts with opinionated, emotion-driven words and it's a great resource that causes me zero stress. News source makes a huge difference in your frame of mind and mood.
I check wikipedia for updates - there's a special wiki page for the outbreak in my country, and it only has significant information with citations - no attention grabbing, anxiety inducing titles. And people keep it updated and checked more than a random news article for sure.
Exactly! CNN is not news!
@@magicalspacegiraffe That's great. I read the Epoch Times 👍🏻
Container full of water pffttt 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 you crack me up....I’m a audio book person myself 🥴
I almost forgot to say thank you for the cute jokes you sent via email 😊
Where's your dog?
We have the same cycle of insanity🤦♀️
Hi Lou... wanted to ask you since so long....most properly a stupid question..forgive me I live in the forest... have you been or still are an actress??? I try to figure out why you are so familiar to me💖
Miu miu, check her vids she has one where she talks about all the actresses she has been told she looks like. She has that Hollywood beauty!
@@BocaReikiGirl well Lou than from another life 💖
Request: I notice how many views you are getting on Morons preparing vid. Would you consider doing another (public service - this is what it's like from Lou's perspective ) drive with someone for groceries, maybe pickup groceries for someone who can't? Or something showing #covidkindness by normal healthy adults? 😁 I loved the almost sci-fi movie clip like feeling of wide-eyed normal people in a crazy world. (NOT saying Covid-19 is a joke) But we have to start seeing us as our real selves coping with a new to us event...and handling it well. Humor, wry humor doesn't mean we aren't capable of doing well with this.
Please, for the love of god, read a book!
I like to read on Reddit. The nosleep series about a Campground manager is really good. u/fainting-goat is the author.
I thought you had a pet, have you still got peatree?
Petrie is my step-son's and she's doing well!
Well, today the hubs and I made a mask/hijab out of his underpants and took a selfie . . .
