I remember seeing it first in Hot Rod magazine and instantly wanting it. I think the weight distribution is almost 60% rear and close to 40% on front thanks to the engine being close to 2 feet behind the front wheel centerline.
rob williams for 10 mins at a time, driving for an hour and you would be ready to strangle yourself..............................oh sorry rob williams.
therealdeadpen It's not too bad on part throttle. But it's not much of a long distance touring car anyway! You would be deaf and crippled after while. Ha! We may have some more "civilized" cars coming down the line in the next few months. Watch this space!
The Cheetahs never really got the chance to clean clocks, at least in the world championship like they hoped. Out of the box they were ill handling things that looked good on paper but needed a lot of development to cure the flexing/binding. Once guys like Alan Green figured out how to stiffen the chassis, it was better, but too little too late. They had a handful of wins and some good podiums in SCCA in 64/65, but never got much done on the world stage. Chevrolet's support was strictly off the books, and it was pretty much already dead when Bill Thomas' facility burned.
What's not to love and drool-over? There need to be a coupla hundred thousand of these Cheetah evolutions on US highways. Why not? The essence of updated 60s Americana exotica ultra-classic-retro high-performance road-rod. Just needs one or two turbos to smooth-out that high-octane rumble with the elegant finesse of cat-onna-prowl high-spool grumble-whine. Mucho respect! The stunning attention-to-detail reminds me of Pennsylvanian Gary Breeback's one-off ground-up Cro-Sal roadster copy. Starting with a 2nd generation ETM continuation fiberglass body, 6-months of research and his own blueprints made-off of semi-detailed photographs, Gary combined meticulous tube-bending and sprint-car like engine-plate to stiffen the tig-welded frame to mount a double-cam chevy 350/383 stroker, M22 Muncie 4-speed, C2 split-shaft rear, hand-made chrome-moly A-arms w/ 68 Camaro spindles, to make his very-own outstanding #26 world-class tribute: ruclips.net/video/ZdnzXEB4JmA/видео.html
*_I'm afraid this version of the original Cheetah is ridiculous, it is all out of proportion, and really looks quite weird... The front profile, the wheel arches, the side profile, the rear, even windows look just so wrong, there is no congruity in its design... I don't get it, why didn't these guys just obtain a mold from an original Cheetah, or better still, create a scan then use a CAD for a perfect copy?_*
Women like you don't have any business commenting on car design. Now get back to your Barbie play house. Or go take a drive in your Prius and shut the F up.
the orig molds are gone. you have a newer mold with aux in glendale az. the ruth car was designed with a modern flare. we all love the old cars but the wallet will not let us purchase.
newking70 Thanks for the well wishes! I really appreciate the good luck you've brought. The car was sold several years ago to a very enthusiastic buyer for a strong price.
2000lbs only needs 250 to 300hp to go. When I built this car the motor choice was fine. Ive built more cobra replicas than cheetahs. They all ran very well from 275hp to 450hp. The car was loud as you sat next to the side pipes.
Get up an goes. Bet it is a little difficult to get in and out of. But once your in fits like a glove
L-88 would fit nicely it that bad boy. An all aluminum version of course. 👍👍🏁🏁
is 20 inch wheels ? please let me know
Nice Cheetah! Seems to pull great!

I have a 490 hp 327 in my s15, man if I had a cheetah to bury it in would never get out of it.
This car is for sale in England now. I might buy it.
hey seven did you buy my old car?
A Phenomenal Car And Video A Beautiful Machine. I'm Just Wondering How Much Does One Of These Costs To Buy.
The cheetah company went up for sale today.
Do you still have this car? If so, have you ever considered selling it?
The car was sold several years ago, thanks!
The Cheetahs were cleaning the Cobras clock back when and of course Chevy said no more....

6 figures for a glorified kit car....yea, good luck with that.

wasn't referring to you, i was referring to the ruth kit car company.
what a happiness machine,, are you sad you sold it?
lame performance, just makes a lot of noise. 290 hp,just a mild crate engine even with the power to weight ratio.
Thanks for your insight... I didn't realize you were in the car with us. You should have spoken up sooner.
when you get one let me know
Another clueless comment from a Prius road warrior
