- Twin Cam jumps into a Cheetah! Gary Breeback's replica Cro-Sal Cheetah Roadster is the subject of this episode. We chat with Gary about the history of the Shelby Cobra-killer Cheetah and his amazing build of this replica. What a fast, fantastic car!
Ahhh, the famous "I already know everything but since you're the car owner, I will let you interject here and there when I get tired of hearing myself talking' interview.
What a Bad Arse car, love it! I've got a '64 MGB (see avatar), custom chassis/suspension, 400hp SBC, 4-speed fun little street car that wishes it was this one. Cheetahs have always been one of may favorites
It's good to see a little history on the CHEETAH. As a kid about 9yrs old,I got to take a short ride in ANAN GREEN'S CHEETAH around Burien where hid dealership was located. My dad had involvement with the SCCA.I was lucky enough to see some pretty cool stuff when I was a kid.
Original Cheetah had drum brakes on all 4. I can't imagine racing that today.
Great interview. I'm a friend of Gary's and have personally seen and heard this car run. It's absolutely a work of art. Can't wait to get back up to New Freedom next summer to see how his latest project is coming along.
I own a 65 Superformance AC Cobra MK III . As a kid I also owned a Cheetah slot car . I love the history during that period and the battles Shelby had with the Corvette .
I would love to own one of these cars . Its approximately 800 pounds lighter than the Superformance Cobra . That Cheeta is a beast !
I saw one on the street in Detroit, on a corvette stingray chassis with the stingray interior, in the early to mid sixties, and I freaked. I’ve loved them e you ever since.
Very nicely done! Informative, and spot-on! I feel we should mention Bocar. Z06 powerplant and drivetrain, Buick Alfin brakes, tube chassis, glass body. 1700-2200lbs, 50/50, 50/50 weight distribution in 1958. A Bocar Stiletto set the record for average speed at Daytona at 178mph in 1961 before blowing the clutch.
i had a cheetah slot car as well with piano wire frame and a champion motor 1/24 scale used to go down on division ave in chicago and race it at a slot car track like 8 wide if i remember correct it was maybe 1966, id run from bar to bar shine shoes to get money to buy my slot car stuff beautiful car never seen a roadster cheetah before
I still have my orange cheetah H O race car from about 1969
Rub it in buddy, rub it in👍😀

Nice car Gary... great work!! Greetings from Dover, PA. Always loved the Cheetah. I think my legs and feet might get a bit claustrophobic in there though... and maybe a bit toasty as well. Lol
Awesome Chetah!
Just amazing
I loved this car... ever since seeing it in that Hot Rod article. Hats off to the fabricator of this Cheetah, it shows continued great effort, as well as skill. P.S. This episode got me to subscribe...
What kind of windshield and windshield frame are you using? Beautiful car.
My favorite car. Sexy lines and scary fast!
you mean 63 to 68 corvette 62 had a standard rear end no independent rear end in 62
sort of looks like a viper
Not to nitpick, and point taken, but perhaps the Viper recalls key extreme-radical design-cue concepts that inspired the original Cheetah as much as the car itself, which predated it by almost 3 generations. Following the form-follows-performance design formula, with a nod to elegant streamlining principles and pushing period technology as far as possible, the Cheetah inadvertently mimics notably-basic XK jag and vintage racing sports cars with its elaborately-sculpted wheel-wells, looong graceful hood and truncated deck. A brilliant, stunning tribute to a timeless meta-esthetic!
CheetaRolet its french...lol it needs a full cage yep well i'll put that full roll cage in my own car if you dont like that remark ...did you have to rent a 3 million square feet airport hanger for the huge project .... Frame biggest kept secret.....what about using a aluminum V6 Engine that makes 400 hp would be better but maybe the cost would be to much but it would be better for weight reduction and weight distribution..pretty cool Boss = do some donuts...
🇺🇸
where is the twin cam
Great car. Why are you calling it a Twin Cam Cheetah? Looks like a pushrod motor to me🤔
Just don't look right without the roof. Still cool though.
Dodge and Pontiac ... Fiero is backup Model Firebird 2 (Turbine Model minus Turbine)
Modified for safety obviously

It's jarring when the interviewer interrupts his interviewee.

at 200 mph the car would take off. its a death trap,
What you don't know about race cars would fill volumes.
that makes two of us, Robert,
If you watch the video you will hear them say that the cars went well over 200 miles an hour. Didn't crash, didn't ''take off''. Where are you getting that information? Or are you like Trump, just pull it out of your ass?
if you would told by someone to jump of a cliff, would you,? we all have a opinion, and as this is a free site, for people to voice a opinion,I have ,and if you dont like it ,fine,
stevey the queen, poor little steveyqueen, is triggered and can't stay on topic. Why is it morons like little steveyqueen, have to come onto the Internet to affirm how stupid they really are.
Dear Twincam. You should learn to *listen* to your guests.
