My brother loves Seoul n goes there very regularly from Singapore (he’s English but since 1982 lives in Singapore) but I can never see why and he can’t explain it other than to say it’s creative n futuristic like maybe Singapore will be in 5 years time. You obviously love it too but I still can’t fully understand why, it looks nice there, clean n efficient but lots of cities are like that, I guess that mountains and nature is nearby and plenty of parks. My favourite city is probably somewhere like Rome or Athens with plenty of history n warm outside the winter period n good street food. Actually I don’t like cities much and prefer to live surrounded by countryside n mountains.
@@whereisdan I see you have a set of 25 of them .. we've watched 2 or 3 so far so catching up to do ... we found the down n out in shanty towns near the centre of Seoul interesting .. it looks like the much more powerful authorities are going to clear them.. what ultimately will be extremely valuable land .. so a lot of self interested well off individuals eying that land (that the poorest are living on ... I wonder if there are squatters rights (as in after x years you own the land you are living on) in Seoul!)
Korea is baaack baby. The Answering to you question, my favourite city is San Sebastian in Spain. Beautiful welcoming place with the best food in the world. By the way your korean is getting better!!!!
Spicy korean food is not real traditional food. Original soondubu jjage(called yetnal soondubu jjigae) has no chili pepper powder. Original kimchi has no chili pepper power. OrIginal sauce for bibimbap is soy sauce, not chili sauce. Original sauce for bibim nengmyeon(called goldong myeon) is soy sauce, not chili sauce.
My favourite city is Tokyo, because I grew up in rural Australia and it is the most opposite experience to what I knew. It’s exhilarating, people eating on a Wednesday at 2am in a ramen shop under a train line in a packed restaurant, neon lights, the respect, peacefulness and way of life. However I’m beyond excited to visit Seoul in December and my itinery has changed since watching your videos, I can’t wait for the grungy flea markets you have highlighted (no disrespect ) and stretching myself beyond the must visit areas into the areas of Seoul life. Thanks for sharing your experiences for us that only have limited time off a year to explore abroad.
