- This video is a compilation of music and ambient sound from Resident Evil 2 (1998). The purpose of this video is to evoke the vibe of the game without any of the the noise, action and distractions. Presented here are the ambient, quiet and contemplative moments, elements the early RE games had in spades. Environments and music have been edited together for a smooth experience in visuals and sound. This video will be benefit those who want to experience the atmosphere of Resident Evil 2 without wanting to play the game, and for those who may want to enjoy a continuous, flowing Resident Evil "mix tape" style playlist meshed with in-game graphics.
I took a bit of artistic liberty in sequencing, sound design and editing in order to create more of an experience. Let me know what you liked or didn't like in the comments. I have also cropped everything to fit a 16:9 aspect radio but kept the proportions in tact. There is some camera panning similar to that of the Resident Evil REmake and Resident Evil 0 widescreen modes.

this is the most "RE2" video i have ever seen. If you ever heard "nah RE was too goofy to be taken seriously as horror" this video here captures all the key moments of why that games atmosphere was bleak as hell but bizarrely compelling.

What IS it about RE and its music/atmosphere? Been enjoying since the first game and now thanks to amazing creators on RUclips I've been able to be teleported back to that world whenever I want.
Classic RE games are the best . Fixed camera really works in horror games👍

27:50 absolutely perfect ambience and atmosphere. And the way its fades from The Marshallings to The Marshalling Yard 🤌 In Resident Evil 1.5 this was the main theme for the RPD. I love the theme they chose for it in the end, but this will always be my favorite track in the series, I even put this track on to go to sleep to. The Marshalling Yard itself is also perfect in game, the moon illuminating the area, the feeling of isolation, everything down to that one metal panel hanging by a thread in the back, almost as if something burst through, or someone desperately tried to escape. Its no wonder so many consider RE2 the best game in the series.

18:00 was a track that stuck with me heavy. I remember it perfectly encapsulated the feeling the devs were trying to create with this game's ambience and tone. I didn't fully feel and comprehend it until i heard this exact track back in the day. It plays twice, once on the back steps of the RPD and in the 2nd character segments. It's like a city of the dead feeling before the official re3 ost variant
