Baby Orangutan Tries To Nibble Moms Face !

The Baby orangutan brothers Jim and Joe are outside enjoy the beautiful spring weather with Sprout and Mom Jazz, in their huge outdoor enclosure.
This video features Sprout and her son Joe, and focuses on how the relationship between mom and her estranged baby has changed, since grandma Jazz stepped in as mother to Joe and as he approaches his 2nd birthday.
Their outdoor habitat at Dudley Zoo is full of delicious green foliage and flowers to eat. When Sprout pick big clumps of grass to graze on, her baby son Joe spots his opportunity to try and persuade mom to share ! However Sprout is not in a sharing mood and refuses to hand over the snack. Hilariously, Joe responds by trying to nibble his moms face instead ! Sprout then gently but forcefully pushes him away !

The background story of Orangutan Babies Jim and Joe
Orangutan Jazz gave birth to her baby son Jim 1 month prior to her daughter Sprout giving birth to her first baby - Joe
Unfortunately Sprout being a young first time mother showed little interest in rearing her baby, amazingly her mother and Joe's grandmother Jazz stepped in to raise the baby as her own whilst raising her own baby son - Jim, made possible because she was able to feed both infants due to already having had a baby
The Two baby orangutans - only a month apart in age have grown up with each other as brothers when in fact they are Uncle and Nephew!
These days Mother Sprout has more interest in the two babies as they are growing up and plays with them just like a big sister, with hero mom Jazz allowing her quality time with them! The babies do rum back to mom Jazz most of the time for comfort and feeding
Jim is slightly larger and has lighter fur than his nephew Joe.
Amazingly Jazz took over the responsibility in true hero grandmother style and is still caring for and feeding both babies.
We are sure that the experience and interaction with the babies will enable Sprout to be ready for motherhood next time around.
