- It's been so long, and we're still returning to them every book. Why are they still in the picture? (Keep in mind this video is mainly just surface thoughts on fatigue with this plot thread and not an in-depth analysis by any means.)

Literally the only 2 ways to make Squirrel&Bramble good:
1. Actually take interest in developing their relationship.
2. Have them break up.

When even the characters in the book are like "ah, Bramblestar and Squirrelflight are arguing again"

The series has gone on for years and just like akira said it’s just gone on for too long I mean I haven’t even read the whole series but from what I’ve read it feels just like it’s forced now, like fight over this fight over that. They either need to kill off one the two at this point or just lessen the amount of fights between them
Bramblestar and squirrelflight's relationship is just for the whole "villain's son dates hero's daughter!🙀"

BrambleXSquirrel is the reason why leaders should never choose their mate as deputy
It's less about the fact that she's deputy, and more about the fact that BrambleStar is leader.
He would already have power over her as leader anyway, but it helps a lot if they don’t have to constantly work together. If squilf wasn’t deputy, they could have their time apart to work things out on their own time. But they can’t do that when everyone depends on them to hold things together.
Not to compare to firestar, but he kept sandstorm away from the role of deputy because there were other choices. It’s not that he didn’t love her or trust her, but he trusted other cats far better. He went based off what he knew about his options. He trusted Whitestorm like a mentor. Someone he knew would keep him in check.
But being able to have his time away from his mate was healthy for their relationship. In his super edition, they’re together all the time. And it sometimes makes things very difficult for the both of them. But in the end, they work it out because they’re *good for each other*
Firestar and sandstorm are ALL the more proof that BramblexSquirrel does not work. Despite doing a lot of the same things, it just doesn’t seem to work. And that’s exactly why.

Okay so she:
-Helped the Sisters and their kits and prevented them from being literally killed.
-Is a wonderful warrior with great experience that we have seen multiple times before.
-Was not only a massive help, but quite literally drove home many saving points in TBC besides main cast
-Lead a clan when Thunderclan had no leader to a better ability than anyone else at the time.
-Fought in almost every systematic lethal Warrior Cats war since the first set of arcs
-Lead a clan AGAIN when her mate was near out of commission.
If that's not a good deputy I don't know what is. Any flaw that you can point out in her character can be immediately outweighed by all of her good deeds.

He and Squirrelflight would’ve been PERFECT together.
Mainly because their love wasn’t shoehorned in, and their age gap is pretty small (both apprentices of around the same age)
Then again, The Erin’s would’ve probably ruined his character somehow, because they just LOOOOVE drama.

I remember Brambleclaw being one of my favorites character as a kid, and loving Squirrelflight when she was later introduced in the New Prophecy. I thought the idea of Firestar and Tigerstar's kin forming a bond and then romance was just so good.
Cut to years of toxicity and disappointment and I'm also just exhausted by it. I wanted so much better for them
I agree. When I was younger I admired Bramble for fighting against his blood line
Brambleclaw was a good cat in the prophecy begins butx after that he went downhill
Bramblestar ended up a little like his father… although I think Tigerstar was actually good to his mates.

Honestly, they did both those characters dirty. I used to like them, but I'm just so done with it.
at this point, the erins cannot fix the relationship anymore. its extreamly tiring to see the erins trying to paint the relationship as healthy when they can't even have a proper conversation without turning it into a arguement.
it doesn't even feel like they try to paint it healthy... its more like they throw a rug over it sometimes so we ignore it for a while.

I'm in a similar position & am not sure I will want to read Squirrelflight's Hope myself, so I was glad to have it broken down for me :)

Squirrelflight does more than argue with Bramblestar. She is the catalyst for Nightheart leaving in this arc, and in the previous one, she didn’t even argue with him much on account of him being possessed for most of it.

Being truly honest, this is *the best* thing about Bramble and Squirrel I've ever heard.
Personally, I think they should break-up. Or divorce. Whatever.
The Erin's have been dragging it out long enough now. Just have Squirrelflight admit that Bramblestar is a piece of trash and move on!
He is SUPER frustrating and is not a good cat at all. Don't even *try* to defend him. He's awful.
The books are VERY old now, and Bramblestar and Squirrelflight are so annoyed at each other that a divorce is *ENTIRELY* necessary. Please Erins. Don't do this to us.

I agree he isn’t the nicest to Squirrelflight, but does that outweigh his good actions. He repeatedly risked his lives for his clanmates, took in those who lost their clan to Darktail. I’m not saying he’s a good mate, he isn’t, but that’s just one aspect.

I am glad that someone has highlighted an alternative point of view. After the Mookitty video, everyone just accepted as a fact that Bramble is toxic, but the problem here is not in the character or characters, but in the ignorance of the authors of the book how to develop their relationship and what they want from this relationship lol. The only reason the Hunters keep them together is the concept of "daughter of Firestar mates with son of Tigerstar I"

I agree that it’s totally the authors fault, but that doesn’t change what is written. The authors may have messed up the story but that doesn’t mean it isn’t canon. I feel like a lot of people who think ‘it’s just the authors!’ use that as a defense to claim bramblestar isn’t toxic. In the books bramblestar IS toxic, that’s just how the character has been written. Yes it’s the authors being dumb but that doesn’t make the character any less awful.
Gosh that plot point has been long forgotten… so there’s no reason to keep them together.
Ugh I hope that this arc can be the end of their CONSTANT arguing, they can break up, just retire together idc I just want this to enddddd

I'm also so tired of them beeing in the spotlight as characters. The Broken Code was their story, not the POV protagonists. But now all media is so obsessed with nostalgia that they just can't let go of their darlings. Just look how many lives Bramble still has left. And Squirrelflight also overstayed her welcome in the front for me. I, for example do not wait, holding my breath for her becoming a star, because there is nothing new that this would bring for the stories. I'm team Ivystar for ever (because it's too late for Brightstar already). She'd be impulsive but not cruel and is way younger, which can bring some interesting conflict, especially if she chooses someone not obvious for a deputy role.
they should just kill them off. I don't understand why we keep characters whose arcs are finished around. I want a fresh and new story, not a arc where I'm reminded every 5 seconds of something that happened 10 books ago
Totally, we saw tons of Squirrelflight already. Changing from Bramblestar to Squirrelstar wouldn't feel new. But I'm afraid they give us Lionstar instead of Ivystar

@@pyrook4074 I HIGHLY doubt they would give us lionstar. Like. They have made it pretty adamantly clear in the books that lionblaze would make a terrible leader. You can't potray your character as a terrible leader, AND THEN have every other character ever say "wow he'd be a terrible leader", but make him leader anyways. That has 0 logical sense, especially considering the new warrior code, they would vote him out of his position immediately

I used to like Bramblestar a lot back in A New Prophecy. He was actually my favorite of the main six, along with Crowfeather. And then... well, let's just say I'll be rereading New Prophecy if I want to spend time with Bramblestar again.

The fact that the authors are very AWARE of how Bramblestar is acting and still just don't even address it just bothers me on a cellular level.
Bramblestar isn't abusive, and I'm tired of the community constantly belittling and scapegoating him for EVERYTHING in the relationship. He yells at Squirrelflight; abusive, he scolds her for going behind his back; abusive. He gets mad at her for basically saying "it's me or the ps5"; abusive.
Yes, the relationship is shitty, toxic, and draining to read about, but stop acting as if Bramblestar is the one at fault for ALL their problems. Squirrelflight is at fault too, from creating this trust issue between them, to constantly challenging him left and right, lying to him, and going behind his back (an issue in SQH that still persists now), how can you just say it's all Bramblestar and call it a day? It's so confusing

Bramblestar *and* Squirrelflight are toxic. To each other and to themselves, they are NOT a good match, and by all means should NOT stay together.
Just because Moonkitti made an hour long video (a poorly written one at that) does not make it correct or right. She constantly shifts *all* the blame to Bramblestar, alongside BGA, who demonizes him while "analyzing" Squirrelflight's hope.
The warriors fandom needs to learn how to use words correctly instead of throwing them the moment a character is slightly mean. It's tiring, and takes away from actual victims of abuse.

I'm crying 😭, what Erins did with Bramblestar?! He is one of my most favorite cats in Warriors. In first four arcs he was very interesting and sometimes cute. Also he was one of the most inspiring characters for me : he always proved that he is different from his daddy and that he is good cat. Than Erins made him boring but still good. And now ... They made him awful only for drama and than made him good again. People started thinking that he always was abusive only after Squirrelflight's hope, but actually in earlier arcs he never abused Squirrelflight. Even one of Erins, his creators, wanted to marry him, if they were warrior cats. And Vicky Holmes liked Bramble the most. Even if you hate Bramblestar, agree, originally he was written GOOD NOT ABUSIVE cat. But Erin Hunter just ruined him with bad character writing and they did it only for interesting plot and drama. Personally I hate how they ruin all characters 😭😡
This comment describes absolutely everything that Bramblestar is and should have been. Sadly, he’s not the first character that they ruined, there are so many characters that this has happened to. Honestly I don’t blame the characters like Spottedleaf’s heart I blame the writing, so don’t worry I agree with you 100%. Tbh if you really think about it, Squirrelflight’s Hope is basically just a ripoff of A Dangerous Path, so no wonder the books sucks, just cause they don’t have an original idea or usage of the characters. If anything Squirrelflight’s Hope is one of if not my least favorite book as it ruins everything I love about warriors from characters, to stories, concepts, and so much more.
Such as remember the lesson in Bramblestar’s Storm of him learning to be his own leader:
AVOS be like: Nah no thank you. We need him to be a bumbling fool.
Of remember when he was mindful of strangers or loners that were in need such as Jessy and Frankie in the Great Storm in Bramblestar’s Storm.
SQH be like: nah that does work we need conflict so let Bramblestar leave sunrise to die!
Or remember when Bramblestar was happy to have Squirrelflight as his deputy in his super edition.
SqH be like: i never should have picked her as my deputy!
Like honestly SQH ruined everything for not just Bramblestar but the whole series just for marketing their sales. At this point they don’t care about characters, consistency, the books, hell not even common sense or morality, it’s just a monopoly at this point. I’ve just finished OOTS, however now I’m going to be careful when going on in the series such as newer arcs. And I’m really looking forward to books such as DOTC of BrS, while these books don’t seem perfect are definitely seen like they stay true to the spirit of the original writing.

I used to be a huge Squirrelflight fan, but now, I hate how she is getting characterized, I hate how mopey Bramblestar is being. Honestly, as unlikely as it was, I was hoping that after Misty and Reed died, that other leaders would end up following suit, forcing new cats into the old stale roles. Especially Bramblestar. But it's just exhausting hearing fight after fight after fight because no matter what, we always get a ThunderClan protag. I'm really hoping it'll stop now with Night leaving for ShadowClan. Focus on other drama besides those two for a bit at least.
They really didn’t need to bring the squirrel and bramble fights back. I think they only did that to further Nightheart’s motivations. Well he already had motivation with his mum not being there and the sting of not being close to family and yet them expecting him to like his great grandpa he only heard stories of.
Some people use reading to feel like their not in a house with people arguing everyday, so these two spending so many years just arguing doesn't help.

Makes sense, she is definitely scarred because of Ashfur and might be afraid to stand up for herself fully. Poor Squilf!

@@pyrook4074 yep, she even tried to reconcile. He nagged and patronized her (& ashfur) all while refusing to talk it over or admit he was wrong to blindly support hawkfrost. Considering he was training in the dark forest with his evil dad... yet still was mad that squilf didn't trust Hawk??? His decision making takes so much cognitive dissonance. He's a hypocrite and a jerk, especially to Squilf.

I was really thought Bramblestar snapped and was going to kill Squirrelflight just in front of the whole clan. Like after the ptsd of being a ghost not having a body for a significant amount of time I thought squirrelflight would be his care taker and that was that. They added Bramblestar drama JUST for Nightheart. Could have addressed squirrelflight being super stressed from being deputy, leader and med cat for Bramblestar…why aggressive Bramblestar again? Urg kill him off please and soon. Also I don’t think enough cats like squirrelflight to get squirrelstar soooo poor girl

I’m personally not going to read past omen of the stars because of these two either kill bramblestar and let squirrelflight take over or have bramblestar retire and turn him into the grumpy elder type we’ve had this drama for long enough

It would be far more refreshing if the team would just set up a resolution for Bramblestar and Squirrelflight in order for readers to just wipe the whole ordeal from their memories, but just like you said, and even *only* based on what you said, their fights definitely seem overly redundant and keep bringing readers back simply for them to repeat the cycle :/
I haven’t seen much of the two characters as I’m still relatively early in the books, but heck, I can certainly see the problem here 😅

The Erin’s are too scared to split Bramblestar and Squirrelflight so now we’re left with the squabbling. I personally really dislike Bramblestar so I hope we can have a Squirrelstar soon, although she’s getting old too. I feel like it would be nice if both of them were k!lled off so we can have a fresh start with a new leader and deputy.

You're wrong about cake frosting but otherwise a lot of great points. Sometimes I wonder if the writers have been reading online posts about Bramblestar being abusive and decided to make him that way on purpose.
I don’t know how the erins managed to accidentally write an abusive relationship, but they did. And Bramblestar and Squirrelflight have got to be my least favorite warrior cats ship, the authors may as well just kill of this version of Bramblestar (Although I didn’t really like Brambleclaw either, at least not with the whole SquirrelflightXAshfur/Hawkfrost drama started happening) I never liked Bramblestar, and I kinda hopes that he either steps down or dies, and Squirrelflight can become leader, and I also want Squirrelflight to break up with Bramblestar, and maybe the two could move on to other mates. At this point, just anything but BrambleXSquirrel.

No, but she did it anyway, because she loves her sister, and she revealed the secret to Ashfur in the fire, despite the fact that she knew that she would probably lose everything, and she did it anyway, because she loves her adopted kits, and she protected them, and she did a lot more stuff, so tell me, How is she stuck-up and only cares about herself? Yes Squirrelflight should leave Bramblestar and yes Bramblestar should die but then if Squirrelflight becomes leader a) the whole “ThunderClan doesn’t respect her” thing will start back up and b) Lionblaze will 100% be chosen as her deputy and do we really want THAT to happen? I find Lionblaze just a meathead/muscle head after his POV arc 😂 But he would be a better deputy or leader at this point. Still a bit bloodthirsty I feel, he’d cause thunderclan drama and trouble.
I think she's already too old for that bullshit. I'd like her to name a deputy (NOT LIONBLAZE FOR FUCK'S SAKE, maybe she even talks to him about why not after how he was last arc) and then IMMEDIATELY step down and retire. Maybe she wouldn't even go get 9 lives just to make sure The Captains of Self-contradicting Bullshit Themselves in the sky give 9 lives to her deputy properly

As someone who has stopped reading the warriors books but still is in love with the series, I know that this issue has been going on for uh, some time now.. And it honestly annoys me on how they won’t put these characters in the background for once.

While I disagree on your views on frosting. (Frosting = Best part of cake.) I do agree that they need to let go of Bramble and Squirrelflight.
@@redthefoxisWritingUpAStorm Well from my stand point on frosting, it has alway tasted like BAD BAD! I have tasted SOME good frostings. But for the record, the actual cake part is the best. I rest my case. 😇
@@batsguitar While the cake part is definitely tasty, not much can compare to the sweetness of frosting. But I understand if you haven't tasted that many good frostings, it takes time, trial and error, and patience to perfect frosting.
The moment squirrelflight was like “I’m gonna ignore bramblestar’s order not to bother about one piece of prey” I instantly was like “wtf? Why is she doing this?” And then as soon as bramblestar started looking for an excuse to pick a fight I was pretty much like “seriously? They made up and went threw this already why is this happening again?!”
At this point I think the Erin’s forgot to add some sort of context as to why these two are still fighting and why they don’t just split so they are stuck as to how they are going to wrap that conflict up, while also trying to make squirrelflight intolerable (as well as nightheart’s other family members) to add to an excuse for nightheart to leave and for everyone to be even more obsessed with fire star than they already were🙄
I had the same reaction basically. And now I'm like; "Are we reading an argument about something that happened in the background?"
Cause, yeah, sure, Squirrelflight disobeying Bramblestar over a piece of prey wasn't in the background. But the actual scene of Windclan stealing a piece of prey? We never even saw it. The conflict is so automatic that they skipped the whole POINT of it and went straight to the argument
Also I mean I guess you could see it as them arguing over authority but I think the bigger issue or like what may be causing that argument is that Bramblestar seems to be suffering from... PTSD or depression or both or something. We could be in a Bluestar situation where a traumatic event causes the leader to lose it basically. Bramblestar isn't quite that bad yet. But if I recall from what I read from the starless clan arc so far. Bramblestar is not taking care of himself and having nightmares, and seems sad that his own daughter is more or less terrified of him. I guess I could see like bramblestar taking a leave of absence or like going on a quest to find or heal himself or something. Same, its not even abuse as people keep saying. He's literally been shattered mentally if not worse than Squirrelflight ever been. The fact Ashfur force him to kill (imaginary) her in the dark forest, that would break a person.
Honestly, as much as I love both the characters individually. It is absolutely just pointless for what they are doing. Their story was long over back in Bramblestar’s Storm when they reconciled. The only reason why they repeated the conflict is just for fan service. In TNP, they were both in the wrong, plus they were young and had to learn their lessons. In POT to OOTS, I do think Brambleclaw was a little to harsh with Squirrelflight however I found his motives somewhat understandable as he never does anything as deputy to punish her, and as for Squirrelflight as much as her actions were noble she probably could have trusted him. And while Bramblestar’s Storm isn’t a perfect book, it’s still feel more natural for fan service at the time, and their reconciliation felt somewhat more natural in that book. However, in SQH they only repeated the conflict just cause they’re bankrupt on ideas. They’re ship was killed by Squirrelflight’s Hope and their corpses were dragged worthlessly throughout the entire Broken Code. This is one of the many issues with the series at this point. I don’t think that’s the fault of Bramblestar nor with Squirrelflight. I feel like there was a meaningful story that could have been concluded in Bramblestar’s Storm as the series wasn’t originally suppose to go this long. It’s one thing to continue a series long after it’s deadline however doing it so badly that you accidentally ruin one of your most beloved character is not okay. From here on out I really hope we see less of Bramblestar and Squirrelflight. I’m just tired of the both of them. I’m not saying I want both of them dead but I want them to be gone from the narrative and give the opportunity for other characters such Jayfeather, or Lionblaze or some of the younger characters like Nightheart. From Bramblestar he’s been my one of my favorite ever since the first arc, I guess I sort of found Brambleclaw as an interesting character who I took comfort for. However, I feel like they way that they are using him now I do hope they end his character soon so it doesn’t take up too much of the narrative. Same goes for Squirrelflight as well as she is getting older. As for Squirrelflight, I really like this character ever since POT, I’ve been neutral on her in TNP, however I feel like she has grown on me overtime, however Bramblestar I do hope they end her character arc soon, I don’t really want her to become leader, not that she isn’t a good cat for leadership, but I want someone new and hope that she won’t be used like Bramblestar. So overall, I feel like their relationship is only being used partially for fan service however now because they don’t know what to do with the series at this point and I hope they find a way to end this conflict with Bramblestar and Squirrelflight soon.

Agreed. They should have ended the Bramblestar and Squirrelflight plot by now. Move on from the old and give us fresh characters
@@uglyfense7754 yea true tbh the ship for a long time was one of if not the most popular ship in the entire series, until Squirrelflight’s Hope came out. And probably bringing Squirrelflight into the focus was probably for fan service with her getting her own super edition and all but now they’re probably just using her just cause the story team doesn’t know when to move on. Tbh it’s probably just cause of the money despite how many people hate it.
Honestly i don’t know where the authors are going with. It seems as they focus so much on the ship alone and figure they use it as much as possible no matter how many people hate it, it’s all for money and sadly same goes for the Disney live action remakes.

He’s such an interesting character, hell even Lionblaze has gotten more interesting, so why not just focus some of the plot on them. It definitely worked with Graystripe so I see no reason it won’t for them.

Sure have Nightheart and some other younger characters around as elders but they should introduce us to new characters completely. New leader, new deputy, new warrriors, new apprentices. They should also try and make the minor characters interesting by giving them character traits. The reason why we have to put up with this continuation of the Bramblestar drama is because the Erins are too afraid to move on because they think they'll stop making money. The first arc was cool because we were introduced to characters we had never met before. Now every 5 pages we're reminded of something that happened 7 books ago.

I honestly wish the Erins would let them go for a change. They always take up the never arcs instead of the new character and for some reason the authors seem more fixated on THEM. (And several other characters that has existed from TNP/PO3/OOTS) and now they feel flanderized beyond belief. It’s beyond annoying and makes me wonder what’s so interesting to see them like this anymore.

This is part of the reason I refuse to accept anything after the first arc as canon, this bs is just really shitty fanfiction being written by the authors to explain their headcanons about the Warriors world. It's also why I gave up reading the series in the middle of the third arc, I hoped it would get better but it didn't and because as this point I was basically forcing myself to read the books other things grabbed my attention and took me away from the series. At this point I'm pretty sure that almost everyone who has read to this point is either because they hope it'll get better (it won't) or for nostalgia.
I want them to focus on cats in a different clan, see how different it is from thunderclan and get to see different cats and not have to deal with thunderclans drama leader and dep

I'll be honest, I don't like either characters that much. I definitely dislike bramble more but they're both stale now to me. I personally don't want squirrelstar but i don't mind if it happens as long as bramble goes. I just feel like there isn't much to explore with these characters anymore.
How I want the relationship to go down is Squilf calls out Bramblestupid for the toxic relationship, nearly the whole clan is on Squilf's side, Buttholestar is demoted (or killed) and Squilf becomes leader.

Coming from a squirrel flight fan: I loved bramble and squirrel individually when they weren’t in a relationship, they had sort of an annoying brother/sister bind going on and it was interesting to see that before they became mates..personally I think they shouldn’t even have changed their relationship to mates, it made a much more interesting plot line as friends and companions.
I agree too. The time their relationship is most healthy is in Bramblestar's storm when they aren't together. I swear someone higher up mandated that they get back together at the end because that book does nothing but prove why they should have just stayed friends before doing a 180 at the end.

I feel like it would be avoided if they just gave Bramble and Squirrel a brother-sister relationship or an uncle-niece relationship.
It would be cool for Bramble to be this grumpy gritty cat because of his trauma revolving around Tigerstar, but still lighting up when his niece/baby sister figure shows up with a mouse she caught.
I feel like neither cats really needed mates or kits. Especially Bramble from how he's constantly written to be an asshole just for conflict because the Erins cant be assed to find new material. And Squirrel being barren could actually be canon and not just a lie used by Starclan so she can do what they want.

They're exhausting as a couple honestly. I always sorta hated bramblestar for stealing squirrelflight away from ashfur, but with ashfur gone for good(I think?) I don't find myself hating bramble so much, just genuinely don't think they work as a pair. Truthfully the Erin's had a perfect way to give us something much better, years ago with squirrelflight and ashfur, and bramblestar with Jessy, what a wasted opportunity. Edit, me saying bramblestar stole squirrelflight is just a figure of speech, it's not to say squirrelflight is an object, I meant no disrespect.

Erins never try anything new, that's the problem. Why can't Squirrelflight just say she's tired and part ways with him? Why can't we see a villain that kills all the medicinal cats and causes the clans to start losing important cats, or the old cats we've known for a long time? Why can't we see a cat who falls in love with someone from her own clan? Or a long-lost kitten that was secretly abandoned by its neglectful mother who returns to destroy the clans in an unconventional way, such as luring a bear or a wolf to the clans, or poisoning the water with toxic plants. It would be awesome if we could see them having other kinds of problems other than fighting each other, forbidden romance or a generic villain who loses after an "epic battle". Perhaps if the cats started disappearing and it was discovered that there is a group of cannibalistic cats on the loose, or that at least we have a darker arc that deviates from the norms and holds our attention. A clan could fight with each other for lack of food and simply split, ceasing to obey the leader and joining in family groups to attack other clans or start new clans, we need boldness. (sorry for the bad english, I used the translator)

Squirrelflight is is going behind his back, however I don’t think she should be leader. But there aren’t really good options. Though if they make jayfeather leader. YES! PLEASE! i love his voice in the audio book and I’ll be devastated when they kill him off.
Honestly so am i. The constant back and forth fighting is irritating. Fighting between couples isnt uncommon but at this point its toxic and bad. I was hoping with how much Squirrelflight had given him, they'd actually make up and move on finally. Its sending the message that you should stay in a toxic no matter what
Personally, I always felt that Squirrelflight made things harder for the narrative. And because she's so popular, they're constantly going to have her shoved into the spotlight, and ruin other characters to prop her up. I think the biggest mistake in the series concerning her character was making her deputy and having her and Bramble get back together. Because it caused nothing but the blurred argument of either saying she deserves special treatment because she's Bramblestar's mate, or claim she's a victim when she's rightfully punished for insubordination as a deputy. It's annoying, and becomes a repeated cycle. And now with Bramblestar's declining health, it just makes her look even worse. I don't think yelling at a senile old man who's supposed to be your husband is the best direction the Erins should be going with them. Imo they should have iced both of them ages ago, but especially Squirrelflight, I don't want Squirrelstar, and she's already proven she'd be a terrible leader in TBC.

I really do not want a squirrelstar, but I don't want bramblestar either, I'm not even kidding BrambleCLAW used to be my favourite character during that series when they moved to their new land (I'm so sorry I'm extremely bad at remembering series names I've read toomany book TWT) But him and squifs character development has simply flopped. There's nothing else to say about it, there just shoving old characters into the main plot constantly repeating the same "I'm lying behind your back but you'll soon find out" it's getting tiring. I was never overly fond of squif as the rest of the fantom were, but I still feel its unfair to ruin a good character like this, she's gotten old by now and tbh I didn't expect she would live this long.

@@blackprimrose7541 The problem is that she's more likely to put her kin before her clan, and I don't think that's something a leader should do personally. Yes kin is important, but leaders have responsibilities and their loyalty is to their clan first. Squirrel is someone to think with her heart over her mind, and she's too quick to get heated and argue, or break the rules. I don't think she'd be a good leader because of that. There's other characters who are shown to be more reliable than her that could be better at deputy or leader imo.
@@PeachTIgerDraws I'm pretty sure Sqf has put the intrest of her kin aside to help others many times. But the heart one is completely true. I think she's a bit too out there, which I believe makes her an even better candidate. She's far ways off from Firestar's level of leadership, but that's okay. She's definitely flawed. And maybe if the Erin's spent time writing her flaws out PROPERLY then she can be that one character who's just. Yknow. Good.

Bramblestar only had one time when he was vaugely interesting to read about and that’s when he stabbed Hawkfrost in the neck. The rest of the time he’s annoying, toxic and attention seeking, he always has a way to make others do what HE wants to do, and make them feel special for it, such as choosing nightheart to be a spy. Also I hate the new nightbeam idea as a couple but as a mother kit relationship I love their dynamic.
I wish Graystripe became leader... Now I'd love to see Squirrelstar, I'm just afraid she might be too old for that, and the Erins won't give us the Squirrelstar we want

I'm so tired of the "bramblestar is abusive" he AND squirrelflight are toxic to themselves and to eachother (accidentally typed others) If your going to say bramblestar is bad you CANNOT say Squirrelflight is anymore better! The amount of times she's gone behind his back, challenged him, done things without even asking him and more is utter ridiculous! She should talk with him before doing half the things she does! Her bringing up the moving sky clan to that specific land caused so much trouble, he had every reason to be upset that she got herself and the sky clan leader injured and kidnapped by the sisters (which than caused some of the clan cats to view as a threat.) She also proceeded to do half of it (sneaking off to see Leafstar) WITHOUT telling him or even mentioning it to him! Her wanting more kits? He isn't inclined to have the kits! He has a clan to worry about AND at that moment had half his clan wanting to attack the sisters, the other half defending the sisters. (AND no, I am not saying he's a flawless and good character he isn't but neither is squirrelflight. Both are toxic, to themselves and to each other. But saying bramblestar is abusive without saying Squirrelflight is... and if you like to think Bramblestars abusive, that's fine its your OPINION but you should realize Squirrelflight isn't even better. Just as you shouldn't call people "morons" for liking a FICTIONAL BATTLE CAT.)
