Thank you for this video and providing the discount code. I just ordered mine!
You are so welcome!! Happy growing!❤️
want to have the seeds collections but how to get it
Eggplant Acadian. Peal egg plant slice 1/2 inch thick. Soak in heavily salted water 30 minutes. Salt, pepper onion powder and Cheyenne pepper lightly flour then egg wash and flour again. Deepfry at 350 degrees until golden brown. Make a white sauce seasoned with onion powder Cheyenne pepper and salt garlic powder maybe added if you want. Add in boiled shrimp or crawfish to sauce. Place eggplant medallion on plate cover with sauce and enjoy. The secret to cooking eggplant is the salt water Brian soak removes the bitterness.
Just ordered mine! Thank you for posting!
I just ordered this Homestead collection and they still were the same price and still honored your discount!
Bless them!! Congrats on a great deal!
Eggplant ideas...Eggplant can take on the flavor of whatever you cook it with, so its great in stir fry, soups, even diced finely in mariara sauce.
I need to grow more this coming season!
I love, love, love being able to buy American products!! As well as supporting small family owned businesses!!! I'm going to check out their site now. Thanks for sharing and stay safe!!!🇺🇸
Same!!! Hope you did okay in the wind today!! We lost some shingles on the buck house!!
@@SageandStoneHomestead It is howling!!!
Same!!
We are not allowed to purchase seeds from outside our borders anymore. They made the law using fearmongering over Chinese Mystery Seeds news reports. I used to buy alot of seeds from the Ukraine but no longer allowed.
You should really try pickled beets they're one of my favorite snacks there like candy to me
I'll have to try that!♡
That sure is a great deal!
It really is!!♡♡
Concerning eggplant: if you like hummus, grow some eggplant and make baba ganoush. Eggplant parmesan and eggplant lasagna are also a thing.
Yes! Thanks so much! ♥
Eggplant parmesan or use it in place of noodles in lasagna
OH I love the lasagna idea!! Thank you!
@@SageandStoneHomestead you're welcome 😊
I'm south texas need okra girl, pickled okra is great great videos😊thanks
My husband and i may get back to raising rabbits, we're 69 and 67 wish us luck.
I agree okra is missing and necessary!! That could be added on I think :)
Thanks! I just ordered the homestead collection. I can't wait to get started
You'll love it so much!
My favorite use for eggplant is roasted with onions until caramelized, and/or Asian stir fry. It's good in sweet sesame pepper sauces.
Ooh!!! I know it's common in Asian cuisine. I need to maybe make a couple spots for eggplant in the garden!
Love eggplants! Make a spread with eggplant... roast them and food process them with Olive oil, salt, pepper, and herbs and spices of your choice, sauteed onions and sauteed garlic.... mix together and is delicious as a healthy spread or dip!
@@jessicapabon2105 baba ganoush
I've heard of it just never knew it was with eggplant!!
@@rebeccawatson9284 thank you Rebecca I couldn't for the life of me remember what it was called. Baba ganoush it's delicious
That’s an awesome haul!
I'm really grateful for it, it's a really good collection!!
Thank you ! Ordered my seeds.
Enjoy!
Wonderful ❤ can’t wait to see your plants 😊
Me either!! 🤩❤️🍉
I like those pretty packets!
Me too! The artistry is wonderful!
What an awesome pack!
Lovely variety and a great deal!
Love the Beit Alpha - they are self pollinating!! I’m in Missouri and had no clue this seed company existed, so thanks for bringing it to my attention!
That's amazing!! Self pollinating is a win in the greenhouse!
I'm going to make beet kvass with my mom, so I want to grow beets if we like it!
Sounds great!! Roots do well at your house!
Roasted beetroot is super yummy! So sweet they are like a dessert.
Last year I grew black beauty eggplants 🍆. Probably just because I had the seeds and am always up to trying something new. I had never cooked with it and hadn’t even eaten it too much before. I made eggplant fries. I made extra and flash frozen them and put them in the freezer and ate them several times. I rea😢enjoyed them. I also tried a eggplant Parmesan casserole which was delicious. I learned the key to cooking with them is putting salt on them and letting them “sweat” before cooking with them. But I am definitely no expert. And finally I found a recipe that called for dehydrated eggplants (I had an abundance 😮) it sounds kinda similar to hummus and it’s called baba ghanouj. I haven’t tried making it yet but thanks for the reminder. 😊
Wonderful suggestions!!! Thank you!❤️
definitely sweat it unless you like severely bitter flavors or try Ping Tung that doesn't require y the 'sweats' and taste s great! "Blessings of Bounty and May Your Gardens and your Life always Bring You Joy, INSPIRATION and Abundance!" - Hope( & Mark)!❤❤❤
just found your channel and looked back at your videos and am quite interested in your topics. thanks for the info.
I'm so glad! Welcome to the channel!! ♥
Just placed my order. 🎉 Thank you
Yay!! Enjoy!! Thanks so much ♡♡
2 miles distance for corn. Bagging should be the way to go for keeping seed purity
Thank you!!
Really great collection of seeds!!
I thought so too! Thanks for watching!♡
Friend you read my mind, I just came off the 99heirloom seed website as your video popped up😊 I am about to do a seed haul So I went on a hunt outside of my fifty catalogs and ran across the site I mentioned above and also the site you mentioned here. I love the seed haul unboxing you do its so exciting to see about other veggies I never heard of that I haven’t grown yet and what people in other states grow for their families. I need to go back to your Jar sprouts video and see whats the info on where you purchase the bag of seed sprouts and your other unique veggies you mentioned in your last few videos of your veggies topics. Im interested in some of unique tomatoes you mentioned in that haul. I love growing the heirloom tomatoes they taste THE BEST!! On the ideas of what to do with eggplant this is what I use them with but this is a small list of things that can be done with eggplant besides what I do. What I do with egg plant is Eggplant Parmesan in the place of chicken, or Fried Parmesan Eggplant, Grilled Eggplant or Eggplant Lasagne…Theres many great recipes for eggplant but these are my favorite….Happy Gardening, God Bless 😊
Mumms Garden Seeds is where I have gotten the bulk pack of sprouting seeds in the past!
@@SageandStoneHomestead Thank you 😊
Beit Alpha are great cucumbers. I love them. I grew them last year and will grow them again. And radishes? Yes on ferment and on roasting. Very delicious!
I'm excited to try this cucumber, I've never grown it!!♡
Thank you! Just ordered mine.
Yay! Enjoy the seeds!!
I cannot grow any squash type things where I am in Texas. Those vine borers are crazy difficult to outsmart. I’m always amazed when anyone can grow them.
I'm hoping to get a few squash out of the mountain of them I'm planning to plant!
try row cover and hand pollinate i did that here in Chicago 6A and FINALLY got squash that I ate instead of the bugs or squirrels! lol. Red pepper flakes and cayenned pepper application helps too, I hate ant wont us chemical sprays. I don't want those toxins near my neighbor m nor , my family! @@SageandStoneHomestead I'm growing hard with squash an melons this year also good luck growing Garden Sister!❤❤
Eggplant is like a blank canvas/sponge. We brush with Olive Oil, season with Happy Salt (a seasoning we get from the Amish) and grill .Yum!
I love radishes yummy. I'm up to my ears in Baker Seeds seed packets so will try this in the future. Thank you!
I love Sow Right Seeds! Near 100% germination and fast germination!!
I just ordered the Homestead collection. I have some old seeds but not a nice collection of open pollinated seeds. Can't wait to get planting. Great value. Only thing I won't grow is Lima Beans. I "hate" lima beans LoL 😆 but am sure 1 of my gardening friends will like them.
I'm thinking about pickling the lima beans in a "chowchow"! If you hate them though that's different haha ♡
Enjoy the collection!
@@SageandStoneHomestead I was shocked the price was only $31.04 includes no shipping fee and 35 different veggies. Thanks so much for sharing this company. 😊
I was shocked too! In the best way!!
KaSandra is here in AR.
Thank you for your wonderful honey heather!
You're so welcome! The bees sure did a great job!
We grew the crimson sweet watermelon last year and while it did very well and tasted amazing those little black seeds they mentioned made it not very enjoyable cause there was so many. Maybe you will have better luck🍉
The watermelons we have grown are pretty seedy too which we haven't minded!
The seeds have anti cancer properties.
Awesome, thank you for sharing!
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!♡
What a great variety of seeds! I'll check them out. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching! I'm really excited about that round zucchini!
Thanks for sharing the seeds! I ordered all of my seeds from Pinetree when I first started purchasing seeds. But I've since gotten different seeds from here and there. I have got to stop watching seed 'unboxings' lol! Every time I do I see something else I'd like to try! I got habanodo and nadapeno after seeing you talk about them. I think it was you. I've started more seeds than I could ever possibly use! The problem is, the more I decide to grow the more raised beds we need to add to what we had last year. I told my daughter-in-law to check with me before she buys anything because I've probably got it!😂🤣 Just too many things to get excited about!
I agree!! I heard someone say (in regards to seeds) "I shop faster than I can garden", and that's me too!!! Haha♡♡
I just made an order for this pack and a micro greens kit. Spring come quickly. Love your videos.
Hooray, thanks! Enjoy!
I'm not a big fan of purple top turnips, but I grew golden ball turnips this year, and they're nice. They have heartier flesh and they're less hot. I have a lot that are still in the ground, but I've pulled a few nice softball size ones.
That's great!
Please try making Italian marinated eggplant 🍆 in olive oil. It's awesome. Lots of recipes on RUclips. ❤
I'm so excited to grow more eggplant this year! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing, ive never heard of this company and we have bought seeds from a lot of different companies over the years.
You're so welcome! Enjoy!
Thank you for this video! I just ordered the homesteaders collection along with the herb collection. It will add many varieties to my garden that I was already planning to buy! I used your discount code, too!
🙂
Thanks so much!! Enjoy the seeds and many pounds of food to come!♡
I wasn't a huge eggplant lover, either - but I found an awesome roasted eggplant dip that combines the eggplant with tahini, lemon juice and a splash of pomegranate syrup. It has a smoky taste, since you roast the eggplant on the stove top (or oven) - SO good!
Someone else mentioned a dip!! I never thought of that and it sounds so interesting!
Sounds like you are referring to a Middle Eastern dish known as Baba Ghanoush. It is delicious.
Thank you so so much for sharing this! It saved me probably hours of time staring at seed packets and websites, with my ADHD brain trying to make a decision about which ones to get! Also, your knowledge of frost tolerant ones helped me with sorting. Thanks again!
You're so welcome!! happy growing!!
Used your link to buy these. I am going to keep them in the freezer for a prepper garden. I already have all my seeds for this year.
That's a really smart use for this collection!!
Round zucchini, neat! Megan just got some lettuce in the ground yesterday!
Hooray!! 🎉
I'm so excited to see how your garden goes! I already started some snap peas lettuce and spinach but not she how that's going to go as we are leaving for a week to Iowa... You are gonna make me add to my garden 😂🤣
It's contagious 🤣
I am going to order some right now!!! Thanks for sharing!!
Yay!!! You betcha!♡♡♡
I couldn't decide between the homesteaders collection or the complete gardeners collection. I got the homesteaders collection. You can have my lima beans!!!!
Okay Thanks!! Is there one you want extras of?
I already got the seeds!!!!!
I love sugar snap peas. I eat them with hummus!
Me too!! Yum!
Roasted radish is so yummy! I also pickle them in a veg mix.
Sounds great!!

I love radish pods but now I just buy rat tail radish where it is vining and just produce pods😊
Very yummy!!!
My favorite way to eat eggplants is in eggplant dip (Baba Ganoush). So good with homemade pita chips.
Oh I'll definitely have to look that one up! Thanks!!
The company does not ship to Canada. I wish that was mentioned before I spent so much time on the website.
Oh no I actually did not know that! I'm so sorry!
My favorite way to have eggplant is sliced tossed in olive oil salt pepper garlic and grilled, simple but tasty
Great idea!! Thanks so much!
Heather--I’m going to have to try to fermenting radishes--I’ve tried it sooo many ways & love it!!!
I always have those two tomatoes in my garden every year--I’m curious which ones are your go to?!
Love the seed haul as they fell out everywhere!!! 🤓 Happy growing--Lacy
I absolutely LOVE the Belgian Giant tomato! That's one I'll grow every year along with SuperSweet 100 cherry tomatoes! ♥
The delicious change from roasting a radish is incredible... And fermenting them is second best!
Eggplant tips: remove the skin. If slicing, soak in salt water to remove bitterness, dry then cook. If roasting, slice in half, remove seeds, and roast with cut side to pan. Remove skin after roasting.
I love to peel, cut into spears, soak in salt water, dry and fry in oil until soft. Good luck.
YUM!! Thank you!! Do you dip the spears in anything like an aoli or marinara?
I would love to see a video from you on microgreens. I had no idea there was a difference in them and sprouts.
Soon!! I'm perfecting the system I'm doing!
@@SageandStoneHomestead can't wait! 💖
Eggplant parmesan, eggplant meatballs, veggies lasagna. Don't give up on beets either. They are just so good for you!
Thank you!!
Were you saying that this company has package deals? And then they send you one of those package deals? I’m a bit confused.
They have package deals, yes! Called collections. If you purchase a collection like the homesteader's collection you can save a lot of money per packet especially with coupon codes and free shipping applied. Hope that helps!
@@SageandStoneHomestead thank you
You're welcome!
I was hoping for chicken or beef seeds.
That would be fabulous :)
THIS IS WONDERFULL! @2:28 I am looking to grow different types of leafy greens and often wondered it the swiss chard leaf was good to eat. As a child my only exposure to swiss chard was from a friend who lived down the street from me. I don't remember them eating the leaf, only the stalks. @3:58 I love asparagus soooo much. I was just wondering how to grow it in my #zone6 thank you so much for this review. @7:52 I love growing eggplant but ( like you) I don't know how to best cook it. If you get some good ideas, please do a video on it. I just used your discount code to place my order for the Homesteader's Collection. I can't wait to receive them.
Yes you can totally eat chard leaf!! It can get a little more earthy tasting in the heat but overall it's a delicious green.
There's lots of comments about how to use eggplant in the comments! I can't wait to try them. Enjoy the seeds!♡
As for Eggplant...
Baba ganoush. Sort of Hummus-ish, halved and baked, then pureed, dipping.
Escabeche... Can't remember English word. Cooked and then some vinegar
Specifically, how can we find the collection that you’re talking about? I’ve been to their website via the links you have posted, but nothing shows up about the program you’re talking about.
I'll have to make sure the links still work for this!! Here is a link to the homesteaders collection, at checkout you'll type in SAGESTONE10 for 10% off your order and with free shipping it works out to .90 each packet. Or it did when I made this video! Let me know if you need more help, happy to assist!

I went on seed sight and the seeds are 3.49 and up.
Right the video explains the deal rhe price is not listed on the website like that but you can get them for 90c each
I need to read up on turnips and beets.... mine never seem too grow or do well. Anyone on the comments on what I should be doing to help them grow and become prolific? Sugar pumpkins grew those... super easy. Is live tho grow corn but this yard is so tiny. Great seed variety Heather!
Try to amend the soil with something like bone meal for the root vegetables!♡
@@SageandStoneHomestead thank you heather I will definitely drive out! I have so many seeds from different varieties of beets and I would look really love to grow them. Thank you for the information I will give it a try and keep you posted
The damn racoons get my corn every year. The roma tomatoes are exellent for sandwiches.
Oh no! Have you tried the 3 sisters method of planting? I'm doing a larger corn patch this year in that type of setup.
Good morning Heather. What can you grow in a green stalk?
Many things! Anything that is a container variety would do great. And you can grow lots of things in containers even if they don't specify they are a container variety. I'm growing strawberries in mine but they are also good for any kind of herb, leafy green, root crops, even smaller varieties of peppers and Tomatoes!
@@SageandStoneHomestead ok. Thanks. I really want to start planting some stuff but I'm kind of scared. I tried peppers and tomatoes one time and I got rot end. I was so disappointed. I guess I should have done some research on it first.
Celery does very good for me
I don't know how you come up with $.90 per packet because on their website they are $2.99 & $3.49 per packet, which is quite a bit higher from most places I've found seeds.
This was a video from last year, but in the video we talk about how when you buy a bundle which is already discounted and then apply the coupon code it works out to 90c a packet. Or did last year. But you have to get a bundle pack.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Shame they don't deliver to Canada 😭
I agree. I wonder if it's a thing with customs?? No clue. I am so sorry!
@@SageandStoneHomestead No need for the apology! Most likely it's a cost issue as I can order from other US seed companies. 🤓
I have a question I've been meaning to ask about raised beds. I have a couple of huge piles of straw and pine bedding from my goats. I know you said before that goat manure is a cold manure and can go straight into the garden. But, for raised beds can I use some of that just to fill space and then put a foot or so of soil and compost? We're building more beds and they are around 3 feet tall. That's a lot of dirt to have to buy. We put limbs and leaves in what we built last year but I have SO much bedding piling up in my woods. I'd love to find a use for it!
Sometimes pine shavings get compacted and can make the bed pretty acidic. I'd compost the pine shavings down before putting them in the garden!
@@SageandStoneHomestead What about the straw?
Straw is fine as long as you know it hasn't been treated with herbicides!
@@SageandStoneHomestead Thanks so much! I'm actually not sure and would have to ask the guy we get it from. I appreciate you always getting back to me! I don't have anyone else around me to ask. God bless you!😉
When I look on there web site it said 3.95 a pk.
Individual packs yes, but the Homesteader collection and the Complete Garden Collection have bulk deals on them plus free shipping and with the SageStone10 coupon code they come out to 90c a pack shipped!
So my question is for a brand new first time veggie grower how do you know which seeds to pick I mean ok heirlooms are it seems the best to get but I mean like when I go buy carrot seeds there's not just 1 but 10 different varieties. Lol how do you choose and know which is best for you that'll grow in your area.
Usually you will want to get to know someone in your area to truly know what works best there. Some varieties get more adapted to your area as you grow it and keep back seed. The back of the seed packet should have days to maturity on the back so you want to make sure you have enough days for it to grow fully.
Also heirlooms are good but not always best. I have a hard time with heirlooms sometimes. Hybrids have nice features like pest and disease resistance that can make your first garden easier to manage. But heirlooms have a lot of variety and flavor and the seed is going to breed true when you save it and be like the parent plant.
@@SageandStoneHomestead oh cool. Thank you for replying. I just moved here so I guess maybe a visit to a nursery shop might be in order.
