The best song for this kind of show by maestro of the 20 century, creating best music ballads, musicles and love songs for all of us.Respect for you Mr. Andrew :)
She did us proud, could of easily won, love the emotion she puts into this song. Only 5th thanks eurovision. You know, I have some friends from europe telling me, oh i want the uk to win, "if only you had a song that deserved to win", well here it was and we were some 100 or so points off winning, the uk hasn't been encouraged to send an act as good as this since. hate to be bitter and negative about it but it's the truth.
whoever we send we won't win,, Jade Ewen promoted her song over 12 to 13 countries that year and she still finished behind Turkey with Dum Tek Tek, proving why Britain will never win eurovision. I know the standard was high that year, but imagine if she hadn't of travelled around europe promoting her song she might no have got as many points as she did. norway and iceland deserved 1st and 2nd that year, but the uk will still never win eurovision for the next 30 years im sure
IrelandeNulPoints ik but even turkey finished above us, imagine if norway or iceland or azerbaijan hadn't all entered such good acts, we'd still finished 2nd, surely that's a bit unjust?
why did you said "even Turkey"? Turkey's entry in that year was loved in many countries. Uk also gives 12 point to Turkey. Same as you said, Many people in europe said Turkey's song should placed better than 4th.
kostas stathopoulos shows that all the whingers who claim Europe hates UK have it wrong. its all about the song at the end of the day. Be good and you'll score well
What is it with the UK, seriously? They have this amazing piece of a musical number, and a gorgeous and technically skilled vocalist with a lovely tone, but someone must have gone "Yeah, this is cool and all, but I really think instead of playing into the musical/broadway vibe and camping this shit up to the max and winning the competition, I think we should make this the musical counterpart of a very stale and bland meatloaf". Maybe it's just the inevitable outcome of things coming out of the geographical counterpart of clinical depression? British humor, snark and camp is incredibly enjoyable, but it's almost never present in this competition. Send a drag queen. Send the Brett Domino Trio. Send an offensive act performed by Jimmy Carr, and get proudly disqualified. Or maybe let a musical actress perform the musical theatre number, and tell her that it's better to exaggerate to the point of cringe than to underwhelm to the point of being the live audience at home's toilet break. Idk. It's an ok song, outside of Eurovision.
It's a very mediocre musical song that got its wings because of this great vocal performance. Jeez, some people just don't understand even the most obvious. :/
Really? then if this song being #23 in acts scored high. tell me why #24 Finland and #25 Spain scored last that year with the fewest possible points? oh and this song has been the best entry from UK in soooo many years . they should appreciate she finally put the country in Top 5 . great song and way better than anything the UK has sent lately based in points and facts .
When theres a conversation involving the UK and America, why is it always brought back to WW2? it annoys me that the Americans think they're glorious in everything. And for the record, we were doing pretty well without you, sure the war may have lasted a little longer but we would have won. Why? Because we got on with it.
If they sped up this song, put a dance beat backing it and had a light show accompanied with some prancing about the stage by some camp uni cyclists this would have won. Seriously.
I cant understand why people hate this song. It's a great song
Kayleigh Winn mostly because the liked "Blue I can in 2011" and it was far far from to be favorite . Jade at least was top 5 😉
@@sangreazul46Blue with 'I Can' was the last UK act to even have a moment leading the voting since 1998.
5th place just saying. Haters gonna hate.
Because they don't understand music.

It was incredible! She was so lovely!
how nice of her, singing individually to all musicians, then the public . she's sweet. amazing voice and performance. best entry from 2009 .
This song actually did well at Eurovision in 2009, i think this was our very last decent song to enter Eurovision.
This is what happens when the UK actually makes an effort... hope the BBC does it again soon!
Pinch me im dreaming the UK SENT THIS!! WOW Makes you proud to be british!! :D
This is the most british thing I`v ever heard. Like an anthem. LOVE IT!

Ελληνας;
She sings superb, but the song sounds like a lullaby

We need like Adele or ella or even both and we will win

the usern4me No one was beating Alexander Rybak that year.

Greatest part from Andrew Loyd Webber !!!!
Just shows how good this performance was for UK,and nothing since in the top 5 since this performance.
It's my time yeahhh
If we sent something like this in 2013, we'll have a great chance of winning!
The last good song the UK has sent to the eurovision song contest.
2014
Ikr xD
I was about to comment the same. :) I so agree
the best song and the highest to score .. 😉

lol the violinist hit jade in the face hahaha
1.52 smacked in the face by her microphone, lol
Should have been 2nd 🔥
The first, idiot!
To think that some people wanted this beautiful song to be sung by nasally Leona Lewis and Rita Ora thought that she was too good to sing it.
R u drunk?! Jade is level better!!!
ok
You are aware this only did well because it was placed near the end of the acts. It's a good song though.

Ok expert I shall watch out for your next bit of priceless advice! 🙄
Her vocals got her to 4th and Andrew Lloyd Webber helped. The song was not that good but her vocals were amazing
@@Richardssong18, this song was the best in 2009 at all!!!

No!
I'm just joking and please don't be mean to me
A bit too close to violentist at beginning.
she has a humongous ear though..
MissAlbalicious bet you’re Fanny’s bigger
1:11 Its my time tolite lol
+TheMaltamonument to light, LOL
Bully? More like saviour. But I think you're wrong because if it was about history Germany certainly would never have won.
What the sh.t r u talked?!!
Bien chanté mais pas d'émotion, Patricia Kaas était meilleur
U' re too hardly sick, kuz Jade is absolut brilliant, but Kaas is absolutely untalented fascistic sh.t💯!!!! So u're the same, idiot!
