Finally a video with a lady. I would like have more samples from women than jut seeing Nadal, Federer, etc. I am fan of Serena Willams and would like to see more of her. It was a cool example with her dad‘s technique of how to improve them serves
Top Tennis Training - Pro Tennis Lessons thank you for your reply 😊 I would be interested in how to improve forehand power and forehand and two hand backhand control for women. I am a quite small woman and not the most muscular one 😃 and started tennis quite late, but I enjoy playing a lot and watch also RUclips videos to improve my tennis technique. There are a lot of women around me like this who will not be a Profi tennis player but would like to improve their tennis style as tennis is the best sport to keep your body and mind fit. It would be also great to see the analysis of forehands and backhands of women tennis players. Online you just see men Tennis. Thank you again for your videos! They really do help 🙏🏼
This is so great, thank you! It would be lovely if you added more WTA videos, at least for techniques where there may be differences (backhand, probably?).
This video was most helpful in adding power to my serve. The hip movement was the key. The slow motion video and different viewing angles of the serve demonstrated by a female player (most videos show male players) is invaluable. It truly is such a complex movement to learn.
This video is by far the most detailed and complete explanation of the service motion I've ever seen; I've looked at many. Thank you very much. Job well done.
Great video!, particularly the explanation why WTA players prefer the slice serve. Also, you two explained the mechanics in a very simple way. Thanks so much!
Great video! Thanks a lot for the good staff! I struggle a lot with my serve specially with dropping the racket behind the head. Found it so difficult to change that bad habit even though watching so many videos for how to bend the elbow and trying to practise it..
Watching Simon's 5 steps for serve and some other tutorials on RUclips, I've got the basic idea (continental grip, tossing, trophy position, pronation, and follow through). I tried it out on the court. To my surprize, though they were easy serve for a returner, I managed to get the ball in the service area most of time. But later, I realized that my right arm hurt, even though I wasn't htting the ball hard. Maybe something was wrong, Maybe my right arm was stiff when doing the serve. Watching this video, I realized that I had got the weight balance during the trophy position totally wrong. I put my weight on the right leg (I'm right handed). This was largely because of the analogy to throwing a ball, the importance of which is also emphasized in this video. When I throw a ball in the baseball, while I'm in the equivalent of the "trophy position", I twist my body and my body weight is on the right leg. So I thought I should do the same for the tennis serve. And I felt that it was difficult to move the right arm forward from that trophy position. Perhaps this is why my right arm hurt. Moving the body weight from the left leg (before tossing) to the right leg (tossing) and to the left leg (trophy position) made the forward move of the right arm much more confortable. Also, I noticed this trophy position creates a lot of tension in my left side of the body while my right side is relaxed. I hope I'll see some improvement next time I play the tennis.
After leaning back on her right foot, why does she take a mini-step forward with that right foot while in the trophy position (8:17)? Doesn't this take away the whole purpose of leaning back on the right foot to generate power?
No, not exactly. You see there are two types of stances, the platform stance, and a step-up stance. The platform stance is when your feet are shoulder-width apart and you just bend down and explode into the ball. Now she's doing the step-up stance which is almost like the same thing except she takes a mini-step just before she hits the ball. Both stances are great with guys like Roger Federer and Pete Sampras doing a platform stance and other guys like John Isner and Rafael Nadal with the step up stance.
I always find it intriguing that you seem to use your stronger hand/arm for your racquet. In my case I just play tennis with my right hand (I don't consider myself either right or left handed in general, since I do a variety of things either left or right, depending on the task...) however I'm slightly stronger with my left hand in throwing balls/javlelins/etc. I find it very difficult to force myself dry practising serves with my usual play (right racquet hand / throw hand). Any advices? Should I really consider playing left? It feels just a bit awkward to me...
Top tennis training , I have a problem in pushing my legs up , I mean after I bend my legs I am not able to give that proper push to jump and hit it properly..plz tell me a solution for this. It would be very helpful
almost all WTA players hit the pinpoint and many ATP as well, it looks so smooth and natural but for us club players 4.0 is me, it is very difficult, always hit with platform, probably so tough for me is I struggle with platform, but much worse with platform, even in platform leading with the elbow is a struggle, I make great shadow swings but when I do a real serve good toss my swing changes big time, I do better starting with trophy
@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial the racket drop secrets without using legs, I am 57 wont be doing a lot of knee bend, I have problem leading with elbow, can do it with a shadow, but when I do a real serve that stupid ball screws me up no matter how perfect the toss, a lesson for older players like myself on racket drop serve leading with elbow, any tips to make it easier

Hello guys, great video as usual!! BTW; Simon, are you switching to the new Babolat Pure Strike?? Is that the 16x19 320gr? Did you use it in stock form or add any kind of customization? Thanks, cheers, Eduardo
Hi No I'm not planning to switch I liked it but preferred the last version and my favorite racket currently is the "Murray" radical You might see me with that frame pretty soon
What do you think about teaching having the tossing arm start 'inside' the body eg having the tossing hand line up with the inside of the left knee (for a RH player). I think it's better to do this (to aid rotation away from the net during the wind up stage and to help with toss consistency) but obviously there are loads of great servers who don't do it, as can be seen in this video.

the BEST SERVE TRAINING I've seen so far! Thank you and CONGRATULATIONS!
This is the best breakdown of the service motion that I have seen. Great job and I will go practice my serve today.
Awesome! Thank you!
Lovely video! Gotta wonder though if that was coach Simon in the background making those bird calls. 😆
Definitely not me 🤣
This is some of the finest tennis instruction on the web.
you guys are great, learned the little things from you to make me a better player. Cheers!
Very succinct and useful video. She has a great serve motion
Thank you for watching 👍

Beautiful serve motion!
Thank you very much!
Thanks I learned a lot
Thanks for watching 👍
Great Video!! Thank you for sharing!!
She has a good simple and solid technique on her serve. A lot easier on the eye than her forehand
excellent and very useful serve lesson!

Excellent video! I would recommend feeding those ducks (or geese) (4:18 and 5:21) so they stop making noise during the video.
Hey guys. just wanted to know what camera do you use for filming?

Hi
No I'm not planning to switch
I liked it but preferred the last version and my favorite racket currently is the "Murray" radical
You might see me with that frame pretty soon
😆 I love Emily. The first slow mo: omg coach, stop Emily she's still in slow mo.
🤣
what is the most important to return the ball or to serve perfect
Elmar Jeciel sereve
Great video
Whats the Total amount of drills on the course
All the advice is sound; love what you guys' do, but that frame at 4:48 is not a good 'look' if you're really breaking down that serve. =/
I can't argue with that. Lack of full pronation is a common error for many girls.
Thanks for watching
All the best
Simon
can you make a vid in a slice serve plz
Here you go - ruclips.net/video/tv4k0AK1Bvw/видео.html
Great serving it proves you can do well whatever height you are
thanks
I struggle with the toss and contact point

Très interessant
Merci
i love to watch your vids
Thanks Zakariya, glad that you enjoy the videos
All the best
nice serve♡
Her elbow is so much lower when she shadows it, much higher when she actually hits it
Got to use slow motion to understand the serve. Otherwise it's just a blur.
Great video. One comment: the wrist doesnt pronate. Its the arm.
Thanks for watching and for the comment
i can really seen alex is single-handed backhand player. the overgrip XD
What makes you say that?
SUPERB SUPERB SUPERB
"Despite being not the tallest player on WTA [...]" was this necessary?
Alex was simply giving Emily credit for not being so tall but still having a very good serve
what was that sound at 4:17? 😂😂😂
It was a crow (bird) just concurring with what Alex and Emily were describing on serve
..artificial slow motion is not as natural. She has out of balance split but at normal speed video it's done properly.. there is more natural rhythm
She certainly is one of Jack's finest.
Massive foot faults!
Emily's trophy position in the isolation is awful. She does it great on her serves.
It's tough standing stationary in the trophy pose, give her a break buddy!
