HEAVY HAULAGE In The Jungle | Full Documentary

- The São Manoel Hydroelectric Plant: in the heart of Brazil, deep in the Amazon rainforest. Everything the site needs must be transported via a long and arduous route. These transformers weigh over 200 metric tons each - they have to travel 4,000 kilometers before they reach their final destination. The workers at Megatranz are experts: long distances are easy for them. The haulage convoy covers most of the route easily - but the last 100 kilometers are difficult.
The temperature is 40 degrees Celsius in the shade, the conditions merciless, the roads dusty and the bridges old. This is demanding work for the workers and the cargo. But it’s also a bonding experience. Mistakes can be fatal. The way across the river is dangerous. A ferry is repurposed into a barge: a highly risky maneuver. Nerves of steel are just part of the job - but that’s no use when your luck runs out.

what is this background soundtrack called in the documentary?
@@apex8524 to my knowledge it from Transformers' OST You're a Soldier Now

These types of documentaries really do a great job of making these episodes twice as long as they really need to be. They repeat the same thing 4 different ways with everything
And the way they try to make it all so nail biting. For example the bridge @26.55. The narrator makes it sound like it could have broken at any time. Fact is, the route these trucks take are all mapped out probably months in advance of the move and the planners would have known about this crossing and it's weight limit far in advance.
Thanks for telling me it is one of THOSE shitcomentaries, don't need to watch it then.
@@d1oftwins Avoid. Trust me. It's awful.
@@tilerman 😂👍
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AND IT IS 200 TONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How to turn a ten-minute program into a 50 min. documentary. Did I mention the load is 200 tonnes?
And I watch the whole damn thing
Dayummm they missed to mention how much it weighs .
and the number of axles is...
Took the words from my mouth.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Narrator: “Everything was lost. Out here, nothing can be salvaged.”
Literally the very next clip -
Freight guy: “The transformer was taken apart in bits, there’s a whole load of copper in there which can be re-used.”
😂😂😂
I wish they shared more information. I would love to know the weight of that transformer.
200 metric.....ohh....u got me
A metric ton is 2,000 kilograms.
@@schumannresonanceswithverte lol it's a running gag .the narrator repeated the weight bunches of time.
@@inc2000glw yup, got that, it's a running gag, i saw that.
Yet still, not everyone knows that a 'metric tonne' is.
I did not hear it…….
"They're leaving nothing to chance!" The remote control is broken, one or two tires are damaged, the barge is underpowered and rickety...
😂😂
It's brazil
A
Lol
At 18:34 the hammer breaks
Anyone know how much the 200 ton transformer weighed? Was it 200 tons or more than 200 tons? I just wish they mentioned the 200 ton weight of the 200 ton load more often so I remembered:(
It was 206 tonnes so actually 226.6 tons.
They said metric tons....
Good job it wasnt high precision work on the 200 ton trailer with 24 axels, to be reduced to 12 axels, in 40 degree heat IN THE SHADE
Don't forget the 24 axle trailer reduced to (was it 11 or 13, I can't remember. And I am glad they did not have to travel any dirt road.
lmaooooooooooooooooo
Bravo ! A very knowledgeable and professional staff.
The people of Brazil should be very grateful for your skill and expertise
Fun drinking game. Take a shot every time they say "over 200 tons"
Indeed!
Fuck man , i finish 3 bottle of jack daniels. After, i finished 1 bottle I started hearing echo so man i fucked 3 bottles.
200 Bottles later..... how much does it weigh? 🤔🤣
I tried it a couple weeks ago and almost died. Gonna try again but with "40 degrees Celsius"
Did you pick up that they're going from 24 axles to 12? And I guess the control box is broken, too.
The workers face when the hammer breaks 🙈🙈😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
hehehehehe me too
All they were missing was a slide whistle or some jaunty music for effect...🤣🤣
@@samsonian I would of jus lost it 🙈😂🤣
Haha he was like "man that was my favorite hammer"
I couldn't stop laughing when I heard the transformers movie sound track in this documentary. These bois took this documentary at another level.
I thought you were joking, lol. That's definitely from the soundtrack 😆
This comment should have more likes :D
I mean, it is about a transformer🤣
Una gran epopeya donde la planificación y control de los detalles hacen un todo.
Una gran labor, felicitaciones
Parabéns à equipe Megatranz!
They drained the engine oil directly to the ground!!! They have not had even a bucket to collect the oil! Das ist fantastich!!!
To be fair that was fuel, not oil, likely just what was in the filters and the lines drained out when they took the filter off.
Either way not great for the environment, but fuel is much better than oil. That area doesnt look like they know what environmental protection is.
They’re killing the planet, just wait till that teenage girl shows up. They will regret it then. : )

The biggest respect for such amazing video!
Did anyone catch how heavy the load was? I missed it and am curious. They could have mentioned it more times to remind us.
453,000 lbs / 205 metric tons
they mentioned it several times in the first 5 min

Thank you for showcasing the challenging haulage.
Awesome job by MEGATRANZ crew.....All the best
Como diz Tiago Escol ' esse vídeo ficou legal esse vídeo ficou bacana ' parabéns a todos , que espetáculo de documentário .
Those damaged tyres... what a pity they didn’t have another 12 axle trailer they could have borrowed some tyres from since both trailers will be going back empty.
That's fascinating and awesome. The funny part is when the commentator said ''even a hen and its egg are taken into account'' looking at this humongous cargo beside a hen and its egg. Bravo to all these hard working men.
Job well done. man those trucks amazing. Thank You MEGATRANZ and Crew.
Welt docu--very much appreciated very precise blog, highly recommended for some curious viewers!
If there were no repeats this would have been interesting and 20 mins long.
I have visited the Three Gorges Dam complex twice and I am always amazed & mesmerized by such projects such as this, so powerful so magnificent. What men can achieve when they put their minds to it is far beyond the views of the average man. It makes the efforts of others that wish to damage or destroy seem so weak and preposterous it is not worth imagining or worth thinking about them. The future men are truly our hope, our future. Bless those that can see such a hopeful state of future and make it so!
The thing that amazes me about dams is that man can successfully hold back cubic miles of water. Every other engineered structure tries to accommodate and get rid of water, dams totally reroute it and use it. It really is amazing, mankind can move mountains if needed.
But is it necessary these kind of infrastructure in mist of forest
At the shear incompetence of the chinese builders at the 3GD, let's hope china never build anything in another country ever!

You guys like using electricity to watch yt and post comments, that power has to come from somewhere. Hydro electric is clean. Yes it takes up space, but what power plant doesn't?
@@methane13 yes fof course because they will turn water into electricity and will store them in the transformer

Transformers rolling with the right music 😍
That Kenworth, what a beast, I'm sure it can even haul train locomotives
Needs to be big to carry all the false jeopardy that the narrator piles on.
@@robinwells8879 Not false jeopardy. Didn't you see all the accidents by the wayside?

Legend has it that load was over 200 tons
Yeah and it took 24 axles to haul the transcript of this video but it was lost forever in the river and nothing could be salvaged but the phrase "200" tons typed endlessly by 200 tons of jungle monkeys on 200 tons of typewriters in 40 degrees in the shade!!
You nailed it. You should be proud of yourselves.

What is the weight of the load being transported? Not sure I caught that part.

This is so nail biting video I have ever seen! Epic!
Excellent documentation. 🇨🇦 🍁 🇨🇦
The machine at 36:30 is a road roller, commonly called a steamroller. A bulldozer is a machine with a flat paddle on the front for pushing dirt.
I assumed he was referring to the backhoe as the bulldozer, but wrong either way
It's called a vibratory compacter. I ran one for a few months doing road construction. It not only compacts, but inside the drum (front roller) is a big offset spinning weight that vibrates like all hell. Makes you want to piss a lot!
Ya I hate that everyone calls all equipment a dozer
@@jamesgarrison6430 Yeah, and as I also speak a little Español, he's not actually translating what they're actually saying either. Sometimes it's not even the same context!
Basically the commentary is rubbish. I take it that he is just reading a script, but whoever wrote it needs firing!
Bigger thumbs up for using the Uncharted theme!!!👍👍👍
No wonder I was thinking about it as I was watching.
Or even better, the use of “Car Wash” for about 45 seconds...I thought that was one of the weirdest parts of the vid by far!

I enjoyed that, and had a good laugh about how many times ' 200 tons' was mentioned. I just kept waiting for the narrator to say " 200 tons".
How heavy was it again? I think I forgot.
the documentary sucked. they skipped the 4 days of driving after the ferry
Fabulous video of a mega move!
Transformer weighs 200 tons- Stone foundations at temple of Balbek in Lebanon weigh 1200 tons and were moved thousands of years ago.
And with no drama!!!
I was gonna make a joke so went to look the details up. Ok, but the 1200 tonne stone was never moved, and the other stones were 800 tonnes, and were only moved 800m from the quarry they came out of, which was slightly higher than their final location.
@@cjeam9199 Yes, the stones in place are 800, but they were moved- if you can figure out how to move a stone that size 10 feet, then the distance is only a matter of time. Clearly, they quarried that 1200 ton stone figuring they could move it.
6hours, 24minutes, 36 seconds. Great job guys.
and 200 tons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm a HEAVYHAULER in Texas. That looked like a ton ( 200 ton) of work!!

To the men's despair after getting the 200 ton transformer to the Hydroelectric Plant, they realized they delivered the wrong transformer.
Hahaa. Good one!
Hahahaha
Right transformer wrong plant!
The plant produces three phase power. They ordered a three phase transformer. I’m surprised this crew didn’t deliver a Tree Spade.
They needed a 201-ton transformer.
Ferry driver: WOW! That thing looks heavy. How much does it weigh.?
Transporter: Man. You gotta get RUclips. Here it is on a flash drive. Just in case it is three hundred minus one hundred tonnes.

Outstanding !!
Please continue to do these. I really like videos in English using the metric system
The music in the beginning sounds like it is from Transformer
Yes it is, not only in the beginning but also some other parts. And hey, they are also transporting a transformer, it's just kinda suitable isn't it? Lol just kidding.
Sometimes songs and compositions are licensed to the composer and not to the movie itself, so this documentary crew basically can buy the same music from the Transformer movie to be used on this documentary through licensing from the composer.
You mean electric transformer
I thought i was the only one thinking about hahaha
Yes it does like you said transporting a transformer and the kenworth truck is called megatranz lol .PS I do know that's the name of the transportation company in case some smartass tries to point it out .

Love how they needed to bring Jose out of retirement for him to notice the power lines were a hazard?
I mean, it doesn't take a genius to consider the height of something that weighs 200 tons!
How much did it weigh 😂
Jose must be a genius????????????????????
That bulldozer looked a lot like a road roller
details smetails. and dont ask any questions about the last 4 days of driving the transformer through the jungle
Awesome. Good job men
I dont know why I enjoy these "chewing gum for the mind" videos but I do enjoy them just like a good stick of gum, or a glass of beer. Nutritionally of no benefit either way, but still enjoyable. Call it a guilty pleasure :-). These types of things have all been done before but so has most of todays sitcoms and music but we keep watching and listening, myself included. Occasionally a new angle on a topic comes along but then fades as a fad (Letterykenny Iam looking at you).
Kinda strange, like, you'd think that before you build an entire hydroelectric plant, first you might want to maybe build a road going to it. Call me crazy... How did they get all the other stuff for the entire plant out there?
That thought came to my mind as well. LOL Why are the workers not using power tools or just even better tools that what they are using. The wrench he was using... well, it's walmart.:p
ROI
I always thought of the same thing. I guess only in Brazil
Can't get a permit to build an ILLEGAL road in the rain forest,Brazils politicians are second only to America regarding corruption.
Built in place from the environment. I met a man who supervised the construction of the Peruvian railroad they went as far as putting a crushing plant and lumber mill on rails literally built on the go.
Even though everybody deserve respect but the guy for the remote driver on boarding the huge gadget to the ship 🚢 must be in nerve breaking assignment.Kudos
Excellent job..
Amazing!!!
35:50 I don't get it, how does adding tanks (I'm assuming empty tanks) on top of the ferry provide more stability?? It seems obvious that it would benefit more by adding them to the ferry's sides just below the water line...giving more buoyancy and a bigger center of gravity? Maybe I'm missing something...??
Lol! I was wondering this too... it can't possibly be for if the whole deck gets below water, that'd be ridiculous!
@@ryanfay741 This is Brazil
I kinda get the impression they might not know what the fuck they are doing
If the barge sinks too low the extra tanks prevent it from totally sinking. It's a backup
Just more weight on the deck.
Great video! Just wondering how much the transformer weighs? 🙃
Great job with very best decisions.
