Hello Steve and Anita, lots of happy memories of walking the streets of Palma, good to see C&A have survived, it’s a shame we don’t still have them in Britain. Thank you both for the wonderful memories and interesting commentary.

Palma in the aftermath of rain, that is a first for me and I visited the city quite some times during all the holidays. Nice to see that at La Rambla/Via Roma the kiosk of the coinshop Trilla is still present (although closed I see). When buying a booklet on eurocoins over there in 2006, received some Spanish commemorative 2 euros back as change. Found my way to the Banco de Espana for more of these and it triggered a new hobby of collecting which has not stopped since then....... It s one way of spending your income :)

Great walk around Palma as always. We always call in at the Cappuccino cafe they have a very large Christmas tree and decorations, in December. Thank for your walk.

Yet you are lucky that so much of the old architecture was kept.

Nice to see you out n about.
Question... I've heard you mention many times October was 1 of your favourite months to visit the island why is that???
    Thanks for all the videos

The storms have usually finished and the temperatures are more comfortable and the island is less crowded. Having said that all months have their attractions.

Are you originally from Stoke by any chance? I'm detecting a Stokie accent.
Update: Just seen your video explaining how you got to Mallorca, and as suspected, you're a Stokie.
    Greetings from Longton!

My friend and I are trying to get a holiday to Palmanova or Magaluf in the first week in October and I was wondering if you knew if most of the bars are still open? We are both in our 60's, not "clubbers", we like a drink and maybe a bit of entertainment, will there be enough open or does the season end at the end of September? Thankyou, Lesley x

Most places will be open until the end of October at least.

@@SteveandAnitainMallorca thankyou for your swift reply! Hope Anita managed to bag a bargain dress! Think we might book Sol Barbados or Sol Gaudalope hotel as we like the beach up that end and the price is reasonable! Thanks again x

Children probably miss their 'siesta' when they sleep in the afternoon. Everything used to close down afternoons years ago so people could have a siesta and then they'd wake up early evening and stay up late.

Our school doesn't have the same long lunch break that most Spanish schools have.
