I have used several warm compresses over the years but have recently found that the best and easiest method to massage your eyelids from the top side and from the down side of your eye is during "hot" showers each day. The oil glands will loosen up and cleanse at the same time. After showers, use preservative free natural tear drops to lubricate your eyes.

I like the gel pack the best.
The cotton is a good idea as long as you don't get cotton strands in your eyes.
I wouldn't use the rock salt because you might get salt in your eyes, which is why I experienced dry eyes in the first place.

I make a compress with uncooked rice in a sock and heat it up in the microwave. It holds the heat for 10 minutes or more.

Thank you Mam for this easiest way of warming eye lids...it would have been nicer had you explained that warm water compress should be on lower eye lids as well as lashes and for how long.
