Drawing Tech Top 10 lists:

Thanks for reviewing this. I was waiting for a solid review from someone who looks more at the drawing and pen tech.
Minisforum on a Brad video😮 2 surprises in 1. I've only seen their mini PCs till now.
The biggest problem for me is that they made the M.2 2280 SSD replaceable but very difficult to replace. Technically, if you're in the US, they can't void your warranty just for opening it if your don't damage it doing so, but good luck not damaging it!
You just said the most stupid thing ever.
It's replaceable to prevent you from losing your data if the device is physically damaged
@@Rayu25DemonNo one is saying it's bad that it's replaceable, just hard to replace, read it again 😂.
@@MtFoxtI know, but this design is made for the purpose of upgrading or replacing. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@Rayu25Demon Don't get me wrong, I'll take this over having it soldered like nearly every modern Mac, but it's still not great when Microsoft and Asus's ROG Flow Z13 have it easily replaceable (even if Microsoft doesn't recommend it), albeit in a smaller M.2 2330 slot.
@@cameronbosch1213I get it. Sorry if I was rude. You know these portable devices are not made to replace your main device and store all of your files on them. but 2 TB of NVME is massive for a tablet (upgrading to 2 TB still makes no sense in 2024; 2 TB is still a massive capacity for a tablet). Also, keeping many files for something you are always taking outside is not the wisest decision (you already know that).
thanks for this review! None of the other reviews cover the pen and drawing performance as much as you do! I really appreciate that.
It seems like there isn't a windows tablet/convertible that can match with Samsung's pen tech. Well-integrated Wacom EMR is a beast
I'd like to correct you a bit, Wacom EMR is the best beast.
I did saw some 2-in-1 from Dell, HP and Lenovo that have Wacom EMR when I was shopping for a laptop/convertible but they're built for commercial/business customers so they'll be expensive new but there is plenty of them in the used market at a lower price.
Just hope they improve the palm rejection
@MtFoxt Samsung's palm rejection works when it detects the pen cursor first before you rest your palm on the screen. It just means you have to get used to a slightly different drawing posture and keep the s pen close to the screen when your palm's resting on it.
The surface slim pen 2 performs well, but Wacom EMR is the better one
Thank you for Reviewing this Tablet. Thanx. Wavy lines is not a deal breaker for me but the inconsistency and poor palm rejection is a deal breaker for me.
Of all the MINISFORUM products, the best one I have purchased is the MINISFORUM V3, which outperforms the Surface Pro 10 that came out 6 months later, in addition to having better performance and lower temperatures than the Surface. In all the computer forums it is considered the best Tablet.
Minisforum also sell the V3 keyboard and stand as an accessory (US, UK etc versions) along with the pen and screen protectors.
with mpp and especially aes the performance not only depends on the device, but also the pen you use, something like a precision pen 2 makes a huge differrence compared to the pens lenovo ships with their devices minisforum is a legit company, they make small pcs for a long time
Thank God you reviewed this for art! I wonder if you can make a follow up video on using it for other creative stuff like video editing though
If only Windows Tablets would just adopt EMR tech for their styluses instead of MPP2.0 or idk, put some heads together and come up with a licensable tech that competes with the Apple Pen... I would love a high spec Ryzen APU tablet that can work and game AND do art... but as long as they keep using this inferior stylus tech I will continue to avoid them.
Can’t wait to see what you think of the snapdragon surface pro!
I'm eager for that one too.
I loathed carrying around an iPad and a Macbook with me when I travel, so I'm hoping the Surface is the best compromise.
I'm ok with the iPad being slightly subpar at drawing. I want something that's passable. A laptop to travel, but to "just have" an art tablet with me if I get in the mood to draw. I want the option without carrying a big iPad with me.
@@nauscakes1868 yeah I agree! I want to use it for blender. I have no idea why blender isn’t on the iPad yet. But I’m done waiting lol. It’s gonna be great to have that form factor in a full pc with all day battery life
@@nauscakes1868 subpar? most people are using ipads now lol
I wish was available in previous years. I always wished Microsoft offered amd because in the last few years Intel has been bad while amd has significantly improved. But oh well. Now I have surface pro 11 with arm and am loving it
It's a magnesium alloy body. Where are you getting "full plastic" from?
Your video just saved me from making an expensive mistake, as I was about to order this - thank you Brad!
...please please please try and find another Windows tablet to review - I have a Lenovo 2-in-1 which is lovely to draw on, but it's soooo heavy - please find us a decent Window tablet to save my ageing back!
Getting an s6 lite (option but don’t recommend) on Amazon refurbished there’s s8’s and s7+ going as low as 300 dollar which could be a better alternative. If u WANT a windows experience your better off going for a separate tablet and connect it to your existing laptop
Hey Brad, would you be interested in checking out the new Logitech MX pen when it gets released? I'm very curious to hear your thoughts on VR drawing.
With Snapdragon X Elite just out recently, I'm confused which one should I buy. I have a high hopes they can sell something similar with this V3 with Snapdragon X Elite processor.
The same is true for galaxy book pro 360, but I would like the position of the heat exhaust vent to be improved.
Thank you! I was hoping you'd do this one!
I just wish this had a very slightly smaller screen or slightly less bezel. I don't think it will fit in my bag. I wish this was sold in Best Buy, or if I knew someone that owned this tablet, so I could see if it would fit in my bag. It is a little disappointing to see the pen performance.
Thank you for reviewing this tablet. I almost bought it a few months ago when I heard about it initially. But I wanted to see a stylus test. I decided to go with the samsung tab 9s fe per your review. Using that with IbisPaintX and Concepts for vector inking has been very useful. The only issue with Concepts is it has a lot of nodes. I notice it when I bring my drawings into adobe illustrator. Still a nice program with some features I bought to save files as vector pdf files.
been waiting for this one
By the way Mr.Brad, since this video topic is windows form factor tablet, there's a Wacom EMR based Windows tablet called " LincStudio S1 " recently
Maybe , it'll be a good comparison against huion kamvas studio 16 and this minisforum v3 as well (maybe surface pro too?)
If you got a chance to get one as a review that'll be awesome! 😄
man if only that was using AMD instead of intel... intel's igpu is awful
I pay the extra for a decent keyboard case like the iPad Pro and Surface Pro. They are costly, but my three-year-old one on my iPad Pro M1 still looks excellent and has no issues. It should last as long as the iPad, which I hope to keep for 5-6 years. And, of course, along with the quality, it is a great keyboard and trackpad.
*WHY CAN'T MICROSOFT FIX LINE JITTER?!* 🤷♂
After all these years, it doesn't make sense anymore. Other much less rich companies have become razor-thin close to Wacom quality. Meanwhile, Microsoft.... Is it the screen? The pen? They should have this perfect by now. This is ridiculous. (I get that this tablet isn't manufactured by Microsoft, but the MPP Pens have the same problem on every compatible device.)
It's a very powerful 2in1, especially gpu wise. CPU is power efficient too. Hence, the stylus is basically extra perk, not main selling point.
and that's what this video interesting, a gaming-brand (Minisforum) on a ilustration-tech channel, sadly this video stay less popular than others
If not to draw on it, why get a tablet over a laptop?
Thanks for your video :) One question... I also have the V3 and am dissatisfied with the colors of the display. The default color setting V3-TEST does not appear well calibrated. Did you have that too?
Thanks for review!
Minisforum is a well known high end German brand, within the realm of mini PCs. Whereas most other small brands are from China.
There are of course the big brands, like Intel, Asus and others, but Minisforum is getting up there.
I wouldn't be surprised if they entered the Snapdragon Pro X market, with either a laptop or a tablet, in the near future.
HI Brad! The new xiaomi pad 6s pro 12.3 looks insane for drawing and comes with a good value!
Thank you for this review!!
My question is can I convert it to a Linux tablet...
I know the pen is a little lacking for drawing, but what about photo editing?
Which brand pen with mpp2.6 suggest for this minis v3 link please ? I don't buy the official pen minis, i search best alternative pen with mpp 2.6
Love the stuff Brad 🥳
Congratulations for the video and thanks for the advice. I'm thinking about purchasing this tablet PC but I wanted to ask you if by chance a magnetic table stand for iPad Pro 12.9 in your opinion could also attach to this tablet (I don't know if anyone has done the test and would it hold it given the weight larger) in order to aesthetically have a mini all in one when used at the desk perhaps connected to a docking with external GPU to work. If you could do this test with your own means it would be wonderful also because since the keyboard cover and the rear magnetic stand are not of high quality, I assume they will wear out soon and we need to find a more economically advantageous alternative to repurchasing the keyboard cover ;)
Brad!! Any chance you'll review the Asus Proart P13 and Z13?
One's 2-in-1 and other's a detachable like surface pro!
the worlds of powerful small form factor PCs and digital illustration finally collide
Hey Brad, have you ever thought about reviewing the Asus Rog Flow z13?
Ah I like it. But I am thinking about longevity and surface pros last very long and you can get past Gens and replace their stuff from anywhere even with third party stuff. I just wish newer surfaces were much cheaper or gave more options because the prices don't reflect the the amount of storage and ram on the base when they are the same prices as more powerful rtx laptops.
I really want to know about the new surface pro snapdragon tablets from an art perspective for animation or light game development
Hi Brad, are you going to make a review on the Xence Lab 16 that recently came out?
needs a built in kickstand just like the surface devicee
You have the tablet and case oriented incorrect if its blocking the fans. I believe @RandomGamingHD had the same issue in his revies until he figured that out.
Its not intuitive
Waiting for your review on Chinese android tablets like Xiaomi Pad 6s Pro, Redmi Pad and Poco Pad.
I am hoping for a Samsung Tab S9 fe vs iPad 10th gen
love you
This will further fall in price due to the lack of demand for Windows tablets and the new Surface Pro X Elite. The base SP X-Plus is £1200 without the keyboard, which has 16GB/512GB. So, if you are desperate for a Windows tablet, I would suggest the SP X-Plus. But TBH, I would recommend a dedicated tablet like the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra that is heavily discounted and buy a cheaper laptop to complement that.
The Minisforum is quite a bit cheaper and at least as powerful as the Surface Pro 11.
Can the middle-mouse button or other hotkeys be assigned to the pen side buttons?
windows tablets must use snapdragon arm to work properly
hoping you review the lenovo tab m11 with the pen
OH that one would be really cool to review, bara brainrot
9:20 Why can't microsoft get their pens to work properly while everyone else can? They just want to be able to say "It has a pen" so that people will buy it, and they don't care that they will never actually use it because it sucks.
Too bad they picked the wrong pen for this, since the specs are pretty decent, better than what MS currently has in their tablets. Minisforum is a decent company, I almost bought one of their minipc devices, but went with the Intel NUC 12 Enthousiast, but only because it was on sale.
DECENT COMPANY ?! What moon are you from 🤡 ? They are notorious for selling dead on arrival computers, terrible QC, non existent CS, not honoring warranty till it blows up in their face, and deleting negative reviews!
Looking for something on the level of the surface laptop studio
that's weird, i have good palm rejection and no pen wobble
YESSS
You can buy it for $950 August 2024
This tablet is abolutly in no way made for your usecase. The pen is typical chinese style "put everything in this box as possible". Its a f*** gaming tablet...not like the wannabe asus rog phone device style things....its a gaming pc as a tablet. and thats awsome. Intel controls the tablet market, amd cpus are so much more fitting into tablet computers then intel cpus but hey, thats how the oem market works. Because of this theis product and minisforum should be highlighted.
I wonder what's your take on the Lenovo Legion Go though
I don't think it's in his interest to review it though, it's just a gaming handheld with no features for artists
The price is wrong as too expensive, and the 65w psu hold the gpu back.
an integrated GPU shouldn't consume this much power though, unless it's ROG Flow Z13 which hold both AMD APU and NVidia GPU
@@rahmadisatriowibowo7019 the 780M is a beast of a iGPU. I have the older 670M in a laptop and that is slightly being held back by the 240W PSU. I wanted the V3 for gaming on the move from a tablet instead of a laptop so if they offered an additional PSU to be purchased would have been preferred.
I saw it advertised and pointed out that it was using the inferior MPP stylus tech.
Nice overall review.
Why does everyone that review this product cover up the back ventilation?
Minisforum is a weird name. I read the title of this video as "Misinformation" multiple times.
Can it be connected to an external monitor?
Yes, and it can also be used as an external monitor
immediately ruined by the half-size arrow keys - i hate them.
Better than trash new surface with ARM
With Snapdragon x elite coming out it might be good tho, but I predict it'll needs atleast 2 years of optimisation on windows part with how terrible and slow windows make windows 11.
Not the pen..
Too much focus on the pen but appreciate it
It’s an art focused Chanel. Unfortunately the pen doesn’t pass the test. But it’s still awesome
$1200!? Does it comes with whatever they're smoking?
This tablet runs circles around any other tablet out there. 14 inch screen and the specs are ridiculous for the price.
I had one for about a week. And let me tell ya you get what you pay for. Mine was blue screen crashing anytime I tried anything demanding. Photoshop, gaming, 3D rendering. All crashed. Minisforum his try to help me change some bios settings to fix it, but nothing addressed the issue. So I sent it back. I clearly got a bad unit, but you’d think they’d test these things before shipping them out. 🤷♂️
Microsoft has had so long to improve their pen tech. Apple entered way later and did it way better. Why hasn't Microsoft caught up?
Microsoft mucked up when tablets became a thing. Instead of doing what Apple did and making a tablet device with a mobile OS, they tried to Frankenstein Windows into a hybrid tablet. They became irrelevant in the tablet market from that failure. Since then, MS has given up on Windows tablets, and a few new ones have come out, which do sell poorly. This has led to pen support languishing as they let iPads and Android tablets take the slack.
I recommend buying an Android or iPad as your tablet and a clamshell laptop for desktop work. No compromises.
@@andyH_England Yeah MPP is just not good. The best on the market is Samsung's S line of tablets and laptops. They just use wacom tech so they're just the best.
this is 10 times better than surface pro series
