I moved out of California a year ago for the same reason. Worst politics, cost of living, tax hungry, not a family friendly state and too woke. Best decision I’ve ever made!!
My mate Stays in Modesto and i couldn't believe what she was saying at first. I honestly thought California was this perfect place to live, apart from the obvious ghetto gangland parts of LA. So I started watching videos about towns in Cali and I was shocked at the disparity of it all. This town - insert name here - has a 30% rate if homelessness, the crime rate is 60% above national average, the average wage is 20% below average and the average house price is five hundred thousand dollars!!!! None if it makes any sense. No wonder people are leaving in droves.

I visited California in 1981 and as a 11 year old it was fun. I’ve got friends in California (of all political stripes) and they say it’s not the place it once was.
Now if you are a left leaning Gary Lineker or Emily Maitlis. Commentating outside of the BBC on such matters seems to get a free pass. But something like this, criticising a progressive US state is going to raise a few eyebrows internally. Or maybe you have already seen the writing on the wall?
On my new channel here, I want it to be an open discussion on any topics that the over 50’s want to discuss. My role is to talk to interesting people about interesting topics, not to take sides like those you mention do!

My brother lived in California for over 30 yrs. He had enough and moved here to Missouri in 2009.

My sister lives in Florida and that state is filling up with people from California who are getting out!
