Just finished Dilla Time and it's crazy how he made this beat which sounds like someone gasping for air right before he stopped breathing on his way to the hospital.
based on other things in those few pages it seems he knew he was about to die too. it’s not just heavy breathing, it sounds to me like a mother crying for her lost child
The only true musical genius of our generation spoke through his music with equal parts emotion, uniqueness, complexity and simplicity. That’s why he didn’t speak much. You can really feel him though this one doe. He was really dying man... But he had to put it down one last time. For us. To show us he really was the King of Beats. Imagine gasping for your last breaths but still feeling the inspiration to chop sum up. The man was incredible to me. RIP
Man Getsu yeah exactly. I actually ended up remaking this beat and it was kinda upsetting. Its basically just a straight loop with basic drums, which is sad because we know how disgusting his chops were on Donuts. Its probably all he could afford to do because of his condition, but he still managed to find the most meaningful loop in that long ass song to express what he was feeling.
Yeah man. He literally used the samples as his tongue to get out his message. He became one with the music he created, which makes these beats even feel much more emotional to me
No disrespect at all but it's not a loop. I'm jus so excited to tell you this, but the original he sampled is George Clinton and the funkadellics. Song is called "America eats its young". I tried to remake it, of course no disrespect to Dilla, jus try to pick his brain a lil bit...MAN HE CHOPPED THE SHIT OUT THIS RECORD! Took me 2-3 days to figure out what he did. Couple of the chops were mono left and right. I'm jus always floored by his genius! Unbelievable...the different emotions it gives. I listen to it sometimes sad and other times like what a way to go out...still on top! Like I said took me a couple days to figure out what he did in prolly 10-15 minutes. He the greatest ever
listen good in the beginning he shows you where he can take it if he have too but then flipped it into this eerie one using the same sample! Still Dope.... RIP Dilla..
no, I mean that I really thank you for your work making this long mixes and consecuently spreading the love and meaning of the hip hop culture... Really, big love from Spain
no problem man. i like to make these videos and repeat them myself too. i just have to be careful of my ears when i put my headphone so loud :) its always good to see people enjoy dilla beats

Perfectly put. Dilla’s work ethic is unmatched.
This beat is eerie
may we have a moment of silence
When I heard this beat it made me kinda depressed, knowing this is the last beat Dilla ever made on the MPC before dying
Coulda been the sp-303
@@iboughtmeth1384 yeah this sounds like it was chopped and compressed by the sp303
His autobiography said the last beat he made was at home on his MPC 3000.
it's one of the beats not the last
never seen this before, now i got 15 minutes to cry all over this beat hahaha
thank you very much
So sad. To know that this was the last thing he did. You can the sadness though the beat. The original sample source is even more morbid...

Listen close in the begining, you can hear the beef n dem sample from fantastic vol 1!!! dope!
Yep
Dus Teez he made this at home
The beat came from a ?uestlove podcast he did for Red Bull. I haven't heard the episode but I assumed it was the fade out from playing "Beej n Dem."
because it’s a mix from somewhere online
literally gasping for air... REST IN BEATS
A tough beat to listen to :(
It’s dope but makes me sad cause of the breaths
i know right its like facing your fears.
Not many can go on this beat. Would be challenging to hear Jay or Em on it.

Cash Carti thanks bro! And no problem man, I got more shit coming soon on my SoundCloud
@@aldali724 Thats misinformation, he passed shortly after a donuts release party. I doubt he was even in a condition to make beats
