@@dikbeats2720 Portishead HAD the funk! They had a DJ in the band!! Their music was like what a James Bond film score would sound like if Hip Hop producers composed it. RZA sampled them, Rah Digga shouted them out. You need to check out the song "Cowboys" by Portishead and tell me it doesn't sound a little like Raekwon's "Glaciers of Ice." I think it was 95-96. Jay starts leaking his follow up trio shit after Pharcyde, TCQ collabos... even Illadelph was buzzin. He gave copy to Ahmir (Questlove)... my roomie Bun (Capitol A) dubbed. I heard, fainted, woke up, cried, fainted again, woke up, moked an entire el of Nigerian Sativa to the head staring at the gears of the tape turning... I thought about the dichotomy of Life; how we are so miniscule, insignificant, temporarily incarnate yet we are so remarkable, powerful, unique.
My Anja 3rd eye popped out my skull, w my pineal gland who did a little poppin and locking, seamlessly into robot, dropped into a backspin and finished a layback profilin' before hopping back into my skull.

who can relate, my outdoor sounds like mistakes, not learning from what we break, is like to much weight, holding you down from making it to heaven gates, what awaits is common fate, we all want something till it's too late now it passes, hour glasses, the sand will poor, the man is poor, this world is war, is it wrong to ignore

    we vibin out
    to Ahmad impresses me
j dilla always seems to bring the best in me
the beat is more than melodies
the swing is more than deadly
steadily kickin enemies the devil has befriended me
the levels that I’m on are higher than your thoughts will ever be
hip hop has been infecting me
getting me where I need to be
until the fuckin death of me
these beats will keep on beating me
without it wouldn’t want to live
how much this music means to me
    Ieveryone keep passin by
but no one seems to see in me
or let alone believe in me
I’m left alone but I keep goin harder than the speakers be
I built my throne piece by piece
so I will never let it go
    at least not fuckin easily

Growin up in peace far from decease
step by step and piece by piece i shall excel to livin in ease
breaking down old rhymes singing those hymns on my mind
to leave every soul's swelling behind
flowers even bloom in the winter don't have me mistaken
for every road is to be taken I shall succeed that's the path that I'm taking

I been in isolation all my life
I try to speak but teach won’t listen she just smiles and writes
Each and every week my seat will squeak, I go to reach for pencils
I can afford a pen still, but will use your utensils
This dead decrepit hoe is steppin on my weathered leather shoe toes,
While I sweat in old school clothes
Choose a foe, colder, bolder or a older brother hold another dusty rubber tryna rub the grub off ya hands, Man, I’m
Smotherin others expectations, my flow, is the hoe of all creation
I fuck with all styles, laidback and wild, so just lay back a while
while I rhyme like a child off that mild mental medicine, Dennis the menace in:
‘’bouncing on the bed in his tennis shoes’’
kickin a hell of a tune, delicate, moody and cool

Bought a record from Ahmad and said I wanted a record to sample and he got me one from Ahmad. Turns out he was sampled by Ana’s, and even now I realize my favorite producer too

Sweet beat, i just busted a PHAT freestyle flow for at least 7 minutes. To bad i didn't record that, straight old school flow to a classic beat. Dilla RIP, to bad this generation now doesn't know about 90's tha way it truly felt. When muzik was dropped everybody felt it.😊
