Other steps need to be done like make sure your email says Apple or i cloud and your friends phone number needs to be on iPhone not mobile it took me a while to figure that out.
Would be a great thing for any company that wants to add a 2 way radio capability to there system but doesn't want to go threw the hassle of getting licenses. This would be a great feature for security companies to use as most companies here in Australia that do mobile patrol don't have the facilities to have 2 way radios or don't want them and chose to just use mobile phones......only problem with that in my experiance is it's hard to make a phone call when an offender is actively trying to hurt you. A feature like this just means you can contact the shift supervisor easily and they can get you police so you don't have to take you eyes of the offender.
@@happyfreeky It can cost several thousand to set up a radio network as well as equip a small team with radios here in Aus and then you also have to pay an ongoing monthly or yearly fee for every radio on that network here as well. It would cost more upfront probably but less in the long run to equip a small team with an apple watch......they already prefer to equip us with mobile pones instead of radios because it's cheaper here so they would only be paying for the apple watches if they connected them to the phone (as to my knowledge an Apple watch isn't on a network of it's own, they connect to an iPhone).
@@TheMegaAsh Interesting. I guess that's for professional, high-end walkie-talkies. A serious security company probably isn't going to use the shorter-range units that are more than toys but not quite professional
For some reason, it’s telling me that everyone I’ve added is unavailable. They have they’re walkie on and they’ve already accepted the invite. Yet for some reason, they always show up “unavailable”. I feel like it’s a waste of a potentially great feature.
I can only talk to the other person if they have the app open at the same time which is very inconvenient. Also it says my other contacts are unavailable
I keep trying to set up my wife and say, do you have FaceTime activated or something weird that I get a message every time we try to connect to walkie-talkie mine is working but I don’t know what I did to get hers working
so, the single tap and hold on, just be a double tap, voiceover users. Thank you for sharing this video, and I’ll change my ratings. Glad he demonstrated how this works, with you talking to someone else. Is the message sent instantaneously, so they can reply right away? If you’re not available, where does the message/S go so you can respond later? Do you just missed that message?
only reason why the reading is low here is because voiceover is not on on your watch. Can you do a video voiceover is turned on for those of us who are blind or visually impaired? Thank you, but know that a single tap and voiceover is a double tap.
We r trying to set this up. One friend ( all of us are in same room) keeps saying unable to connect. Her watch and phone appear to be set just as ours. Anyone have ideas
i'm getting an error message "NAME did not receive your invitation. Check that FaceTime is signed in with Apple ID." checked our FaceTime settings and we're both signed in
you need to toggle on and off the name and/or app. Eventually it will get connected. This happened to me when I first started using this. The app is temperamental!

How do you even accept an invite? It’s confusing
I don’t know came here to find out
There’s literally no where that actually tells u what to do that works I’m just over it
Maybe you just need to invite the other person?
It’s funny how people say oh yeah this is a tutorial this A trash tutorial
Exactly!!!
Thank you for this video. Can you have the walkie talkie app work from apple watch and iphone or does it just work from watch to watch?

Not sure about Oz, but the cost Apple Watch and iPhones for each person costs way more than low-end walkie-talkies in the USA or Canada

Mine is doing the same too
Those people just don’t want to talk to you maybe?
Make sure your contacts number is put on IPhone and not mobile or it won’t work
I use mine all the time with no problem 😊
@@ahliedatcro8576put on iphone means , where contacts get saved
How does it work ? What connectivity is required for this?
I have it set up and it works great. I have it set up so that I don’t have to hold down the button. Just tap and talk tap again to listen for reply.
How did you change the setting to push to talk instead of holding?
Me and my friends aren’t getting the invites what do we do about that?

On mine says did not receive your invite. Check that FaceTime is signed in with Apple ID..
hey, are you able to use your walkie-talkie? I'm having the exact same error message and my friends too. Thank you

Check the contacts on her phone. Your suppose to have the number set on iPhone instead of mobile
Like you have the option to select home phone, mobile phone, iPhone etc
@@ahliedatcro8576 thanks. I just changed em all. I’ll check tonight and see if walk-ie talkie worhd

Me either
Me too I’m lost and doesn’t wanna work
This is plain unworkable
I can’t see any invites. Myself and my wife keep trying to invite each other but no help
Voice recording...it's not like it's new 😒...not impressed ..
It’s actually more instantaneous than voice recording. Comes in handy when u can just tap the walkie when u have a crew working with you
I invited a friend and she invited me and that was the end of it. Never got the invite request
So cool
Y not just call
This does not work
Yes is work
