All I can say is what is in there to accelerate the fire so fast, or what cheap material was used on the outside. I used to work in a massive oil refinery in Canada, I have seen fires start and spread , but were brought under control. I have not seen such a fast intense fire like that apartment block, where were the sprinklers, why only one escape staircase. Hopefully the inquiry can find out a lot before the next block goes up in flames and kills a lot of people. Safety First.

Those poor survivors should have been offered the most expensive hotel suites indefinitely and possibly for good they experienced and saw the hell, why should they get more tortured by sleeping on the floors in churches or other makeshift places , they should have received trauma counselling in a luxury 5 star hotel suites just to make their suffering a little more bearable.

A women told that within hours there was enough time to escape but firefrighters warned people to stay in their property, and they were just looking upwards when fire just started instead of helping quickly , she saw body of hundreds people but only 17 in that tower !

you rich people try act like you kno what's going on and try to defend your argument, but you have no idea how people like myself living in less privileged areas live. while u lot are sipping you grande tea in your £1000 chairs were here in the dust feeling like the guy said neglected because you know we aren't doing well but your not putting the effort in to help, but when you do help it's still a problem because you build these new flats which most of us are unable to fund for. it's really sickening and I'm glad this knowledgeable brudah has put his foot down, not only had he spoke the truth cuz, he has proved the stereotypes of us young people and ghetto children have sense.

we need more young people like this very caring very articulate young person to be role models in our communities. All I can say is what is in there to accelerate the fire so fast, or what cheap material was used on the outside.
I used to work in a massive oil refinery in Canada, I have seen fires start and spread , but were brought under control. I have not seen such a fast intense fire like that apartment block, where were the sprinklers, why only one escape staircase. Hopefully the inquiry can find out a lot before the next block goes up in flames and kills a lot of people. Safety First.

Cladding the building is not the issue. The issue is the material used. The lack of fire safety and fire regulations in such a large building is the issue. They are right to make the building look better, as london is based on property, location and astetics. London is not a charity.

So far, in every TV interview I've seen, the interviewer always interrupts and says "well, we don't know that yet". Why don't they just listen to the people who were there who know exactly what went down. Those residents are well versed in the history of neglect and safety violations at that building. These interviewers need to speak less and listen more.
Piki makes excellent suggestion that any inquiry should be lead by the people from this neighbourhood.

the ONLY REASON the fire spread beyond the one apartment (or one floor) was that the paneling provided a fast-track for it to do so. This building was designed well, specifically to isolate fire transmission vertically and laterally. Someone wrapped this SAFE building in KINDLING for the aesthetic concerns of rich residents and waited for it to burn.
i wonder how many files are going to go missing.

We do not need a public inquiry! We need an inquest! The government will not be able to wrongly control an inquest in the way they can control and manipulate the outcome of a public inquiry! An inquest hands power to a jury who will decide more fairly.

Those poor survivors should have been offered the most expensive hotel suites indefinitely and possibly for good they experienced and saw the hell, why should they get more tortured by sleeping on the floors in churches or other makeshift places , they should have received trauma counselling in a luxury 5 star hotel suites just to make their suffering a little more bearable.

I hope that in the name for social justice that no one is authorised to rebuild property where Grenfell used to be but instead that a memorial be made for all of the lost lives. I also hope that the surviving residents be given a suitable place to live as well as compensated for this tragedy. They should not be forgotten. All existing social residences should be remade to standard so that this does not happen again.
