Great vid! One of the things we must take into consideration though is the perks that can and probably should come with a newer camera. Case in point, the s9 for example is getting more/newer features than the s5ii because it was recently released compared to the s5ii which was released 2 years ago. For what it's worth the original s5 is still getting updates. The fact that most if not all other major camera brands do not give major updates to their cameras is a huge plus for Lumix.
I agree with you on that about the S5. About the S9 being newer, we have understand that it is basically an S5II in a smaller buddy. So most probably the updates are not that complicated to make them for the S5II and X. But again I’m not an engineer, so can’t say for sure 😅
Super video and very good video and with very good point not like another RUclipsr oh yeah new firmware super everything ok hahahahhaha😅 , many good thinks in this uploaded but many thinks don’t understand with the s9 have more options of the s5II don’t understand and many another thinks , I think Panasonic think to much about marketing and sell the last product and this is not good point because people gone be tired and finally will go , let’s this what happen with Sony in November if there have something better maybe I will change
In many people feel like this, and I’m a bit confused too on the direction Panasonic is taking here. I will just wait until next summer and see what they do, if not I will start looking around too
Lumix has offered multi exposure modes in almost all their cameras for years and years - even the LX100ii has it. For some reason they dumped the feature starting with the S5ii - shame, I used it a lot with flash photography as a real estate photographer. It allowed me to shoot up to four individual flash shots and the camera would essentially do a lighten mode and turn out a single RAW file with all the combined luminance for up to four shots - I could shoot a large property without having to bring a light stand - but not any longer. I keep hoping a firmware update will bring it back some day....
This is something I keep forgetting to say in my videos, because many photographers have complained about it. I didnt use it when I had the S5 because I’m a videographer first. But I fully understand the use and how weird it is that they took it out.
If there is no hardware limitation, they still won’t give the S5ii 32 bit float until they release the S1Hii 4 or 5 years from now. Lol Man, I’m way too cynical these days.
While enjoying the new firmware for all the other features, I've actually ditched my older DMW-XLR1. Moved to the Tascam FR-AV2 32-bit float field recorder with a large number of timecode features and is cheaper than the DMW-XLR2. Yeah it's external, but sync in post is like 5 seconds task in the workflow.
Not really bro. Compared to Sony this was more than your average firmware update. Compared to the DSLR era, it's also a real update as in that time firmware update contained micro adjustments and bug fixes most of the time. I think we are spoiled with Lumix community support.

hey people isn't it possible to send 6k open gate videos via lab app to my iPhone from the s5ii?
I think it is not, only the MP4 lite, which only the S9 has is possible. If I’m not mistaken
yepp ,, 1080p 60fps with contrast detection AF, that's so annoying

I actually use the DJI mics and don’t really need 32bit float, even when using the Zoom H6.
It is cool to have but not necessary in my opinion.
I think the S1H2 will be coming next year at some point before the summer
2.1 was nothing bro. nothing, it was the most impossible fake update

Agree with this one here 👍🏾
Fake news. Bro.
