    The best setting is this:
    Base clock at lowest stable voltage. Thisbapplies to all algorithms.
    Enable xmp, always use 2 sticks of ram for randomx, on ghost rider use 1 stick. Saves power with no effect on hashrate.
    Look on the box to find the base clock.
    As a final note: i dont suggest overclocking unless you have a large farm and are solo mining.

  • @captainhappy
    @captainhappy 4 месяца назад +2

    The question about revenue or efficiency 9:37 there is some additional factor to that, which is the additional wear and tear to the hardware. Definitely do not use your rig with 300 watts consumption, you can be sure that rig or it's cpu will get killed sooner than you'd like. Just find the good middle balance there, where the hashes per watt are almost the best (almost = because little bit pushing doesn't hurt, just dont' overdo it). If I were you I would test also how the motherboard dynamic settings work, meaning, you dont set the voltages and such, but let the motherboard do it for you, that way you don't have constantly issues with motherboard settings if you decide go between different algorithms.

  • @aku2dimensional
    @aku2dimensional 4 месяца назад +3

    I've experimented with CPU mining Monero back in 2021 with old office PCs, they didn't mine much but only used about 70 watts of power each. Both rigs ran Kubuntu and had a couple gigs of ram and HDD, one had a second gen i3 and the other had an Xeon E3-1245 V2, enough to get something set up and such. I stopped mining because it wasn't exactly profitable for me and it was just a learning experience to form my own opinion on mining. Another reason was because of savages on Reddit who got real angry at any mention of the word mining, not that I care, it's just disappointing. I think that if I set up another rig again I'd probably start with an older but more powerful and efficient CPU, and talk about it to open-minded individuals only.

      For comparison: I built 12 rigs, all with the same CPU - ryzen 3900 (non-x). They were paired with literally the cheapest B450-chipset-motherboard I could find - Asrock B450M-HDV (R 4.0). All the 3900s are clocked at 3.4 GHz, downvolted to the minimum stable voltage, ranging between 0.9 and 0.95 Vcore, depending on the board/cpu. I snatched the CPUs at a bargain price of about $175 here in Poland, all brand new, old stock. Motherboard was $62, RAM (16GB of dual-channel DDR4 3200 CL 16) was $37. Other accessories were about $50 (300W PicoPSU, USB pendrive, cables, etc), so alltogether about $324 per rig, at almost the same hashrate as the 5900(x). But of course, in your country, prices might be different.
