Steeleye Span - Thomas the Rhymer Bass Cover

Steeleye Span - Thomas the Rhymer from Now We Are Six (Chrysalis 1974). The first album with Nigel Pegrum as full-time drummer and a great song showcasing the Steeleye folk rock sound. Hard hitting drums, distorted guitar and grinding bass with complex vocal harmonies, flute and fiddle! The year before they went big with All Around My Hat.
Rick Kemp is my favourite bass player. His playing with Steeleye provided a solid rock base and some very interesting melodic lines, always while sitting high in the mix. In Thomas the Rhymer his tone is quite trebly with a good clank to it, so I played this with a pick to try and roughly emulate his sound.
This cover is not note-perfect, but I think a fairly close interpretation (with some slightly dodgy palm muting sections...).

Thanks, much appreciated. I don't have it tabbed out I'm afraid, but there may be the chords set out somewhere online. I learned it by ear, and because the bass is so nice and clear in the mix it really helped. Good luck!
